Advantages: Total integration, high specification, stylish and innovative. Disadvantages: Costly 'Sony' brand name, possible upgrade troubles.
...than bother about spending hundreds on upgrading.
Overall, this stylish machine is unbeatable for the specification together with the reliability of the Sony brand name. I spent my time looking, and still can't find anything significantly better. Save the time I took looking, go out and buy the Sony Vaio VGC-M1 now!

Review of Sony Vaio VGC-M1
Advantages: A few big tunes Disadvantages: A couple of tracks let it down
...M-1, of the Floridian alternative, political Hip Hop duo dead prez realised a solo album in 2006 entitled ?Confidential?. This release acted as a short break after having two in-your-face albums from the pair in which they shocked listeners with their original take on black oppression, and here M-1 chooses to lighten their image with music for more generic Hip Hop fans.
1. ?One Side? (Intro)
2. ?Early?
To start things off you have a track which unites dead prez as stic.man joins M-1 in what is a big starter. It is something heavy to get you prepared for what is to come in the rest of the thing. I felt that it was the best way that this album could have got underway as it reminds you why you will have initially got into M-1?s material.
**Four Stars**
3. ?Land, Bread & Housing?
If you are aware of dead prez? material, then this...
Advantages: Excellent pictures, supports DVD-Ram, good with Sky Disadvantages: Does not write DVD+R/RW, no CD-Text. JVC's poor reputation.
...All DVD recorders are complex pieces of kit, and so this review necessarily goes into some detail to help you make the right choice for you. The situation is compounded by a format war, almost as bad as the old VHS/Beta war which resulted in the low quality format winning, but this time even more complicated.
If you already know about the various formats available, then skip a few paragraphs, but for the rest of us, let's first explain what the DVD formats are, and how they differ, so we can see where the JVC DR-M1 sits in today's marketplace.
There are essentially three formats of recordable DVD, and within two of those are R (recordable once only) and RW (recordable and erasable to re-use). Some of these DVDs will play on most domestic DVD players, and some won't. The types are:
* DVD-R and DVD-RW. The JVC uses these disks...

Review of JVC DR-M1
Advantages: you know what to expect, somewhere to stop if you are tired Disadvantages: expensive food
...We stopped here becasue we'd been stuck in traffic after a motorway accident on the intersection of M62 and M1, and we needed to take a break becasue we were frazzled- forgot I had air conditioning!
I knew that there was a service station between junctions 39 and 38 southbound on the M1 so we headed there.
Easy to follow signs to the car park- with words and symbols so you'd understand even if you didn't speak English.
FACILITIES
Shop- newspapers, sweets, books, music, drinks, sandwiches, greetings cards and gifts..they were selling the Harry Potter latest book on Saturday but I wouldn't pay £16.99 for it! Some people were, though. Food can be a bit expensive and so can the sweets but if you have to buy them, it serves you right for not planning in advance!!!
T2 phone shop- selling mobile phones and accessories. Good value...
Advantages: looks ace and performs better, long range, battery life, caller display, call log Disadvantages: monotone ringer
...I was first attracted to the Binatone IDECT range by my brother who had a seriously stylish set of phones scattered around his flat. They looked the business and were more like space age wands than telecommunication devices and so in a fit of jealousy I went in search of my own to replace my aging and rather embarrassing BT phone that had seen better days in the early 90s. With prices of such stylish phones ranging from £30 to in excess of £150 and the range of features varying wildly the further up the price range I decided on the M1 at £45, reduced from £95 the usual recommended retail price. Price was the major factor, but because it had the styling of a mobile phone I just couldn't say no once I had my heart set on it.
Resembling a Samsung slide mobile phone it has nearly all of the same features bar games and a camera...

Review of Binatone I-DECT M1
Advantages: Good value. Attentive staff. Clean and functional. Disadvantages: Out of town. Mediocre food.
...I stay at this hotel quite often, on business, as the company I work for has a branch office close by. I am partial to the chain (if only to keep my loyalty club points in once place for maximum efficiency) although quality can vary significantly from one property to another.
LOCATION
This Holiday Inn is located just off Junction 18 of the M1 (less than three minutes), about 5 miles from Rugby itself, and significantly more from Northampton. As such, its not really practical for anyone who is not driving, unless they are visiting a location close by and will be taxi-ing to and from Rugby train station. There is nothing significant in walking distance, so its main clientele is the executive or managerial crowd passing through on their way to points north/south, or seemingly ever-present conference delegations.
FEEL & FACILITIES...
Advantages: More than just a PC Disadvantages: The screen could be a little bigger
...and realised I was being given a warning sign. I decided to get a slightly more expensive PC, after all its like a car the cheaper it is the more chance there is with a problem.
When I purchased the SONY-M1 it was at the higher end of PC's, I bought it for £1299 (this is high in my point of view). I wanted a PC that I could do everything on. The M1 stood out for a variety of reasons, but mainly in my eyes because it was not really a PC nor was it a laptop, it was somewhere in between, if you have read any of my reviews you know that I like to be different. To describe the Sony M-1 is kind of difficult it has an LCD screen that is fixed to the base unit; also attached to that base unit is a flop down keyboard, two very good speakers and a sub woofer. Fold the keyboard flat against the screen and you have a unit roughly 1 and ½ foot long by 7...

Review of Sony Vaio VGC-M1
Advantages: if you need to "go", then they are useful, Costa Coffee Disadvantages: price, choice, not enough of them
...I always stop at this service station between junction 28 and 29 on the M1-not because I particularly like service stations, because I don't, but because it's the one service station I know that you can get a decent cup of coffee- Costa Coffee has a franchise on this site. I have driven past more than one other service station on a journey up or down the M1 to stop at this one, located near Nottingham.
These services are relatively new so they are not bad really in terms of the structure of the building and the facilities. Compared to some service stations, they are palatial.
The grounds are pleasant, and well lit at night so you can stop without fear of walking in an unlit carpark. Important especially if you are a woman. I like to feel safe. I have stopped here at 3 in the morning on the way down to London, and parked my car...

Review of Welcome Break
Advantages: Sleek design, Sony WEGA engine, Superb picture Disadvantages: A bit expensive and only 23" for the money, but prices are coming down.
...I bought the above TV in february 2005 from QED. It cost me £795 back then.
Well. First impressions. Its a unique and attractive design, the silver version looks particularly modern.
The TV was incredibly easy to set up, taking less than ten minutes from opening the box to watching BBC1. An easy to use menu with just enough feautures to remain workable and easy to use, whilst enabling a lot of choice and options.
The sound quality is excellent, I find the Virtual Dolby Surround option to be very effective indeed.
The sony WEGA engine creates wonderful images. I havent noticed any blurring or drag on images that have been reported on some LCD TVs. On TV pictures the image is crisp and clear but the picture on DVD use is truly spectacular!!!
For me the 23" screen is perfect, but I suppose for some people this might be too small? I...

Review of Sony KLV-L23M1
Advantages: Great facilities for babies and kids Disadvantages: High prices
...Had the pleasure of stopping at the Toddington services on the Southbound M1 on 18th May, 2004. It was about 1pm and the car park was around half full so no problems parking. Nice touch at the entrance to the building was the Pet Station with bowls of water and dog biscuits for the canine guests. Only guide dogs are allowed into the building but there was a small grassed area at the side where dogs could stretch their legs and do what dogs do best.
Firstly and definitely most important - toilets. Can't speak for the gents but the ladies were spotless. I'd even be happy to take my granny in there. A lady was busy scrubbing the sinks while I was in there. Clean toilets, nice hot water, full soap dispensers and hand driers that worked. Thumbs up so far.
Usual concessions in the building: a small Thorntons, a Birthday card shop...
