I had picked up my usual size 34B and thought that it would look good. Well this was not to be because I couldn?t even do it up.
As I was convinced that this was my size I asked one of the shop assistants whether some sizes might vary and would it be possible for her to measure my bra size.
(Not realising the shock that my daughter and I were going to have later.)
The lady was extremely helpful and we started with my existing bra, which was a size 34B. I had thought it was quite comfortable and looked okay. How wrong was I?
Before she started she said that I was probably a size 32 with a larger cup size.
Well as you can imagine I thought that she was wrong because I have been wearing 34B?s forever and it just slipped off the tongue...

...I used to love Bravissimo, being the only high street shop that tailored for slightly 'blessed' ladies and prompt home delivery. But recently I went to their Oxford Circus branch and was utterly disappointed. There was virtually nothing for my size (I'm a 34F) and there were bras, knickers and various other stock lying around. Most of the models had no display on them. The staff were not helpful at all, more like I was troubling them when I asked them to check for my size. Also, the only thing that had my size was a bikini top (no bottom) and the stitching was coming off. They offered a £6 discount but with no matching bottoms, I was frustrated and popped into John Lewis (two streets down) and found everything that I needed- and cheaper! Forget about Bravissimo, John Lewis is the godsent for volumpcious ladies!...

...Ah! Crazy Colour! I'm34 now and still a dedicated peroxide white blonde and proud but from the ages of 13 until about 26 I went through every colour you can think of - and I mean EVERY colour!
Available back then were a variety of makes - Crazy Colour, Stargazer and Directions to name but three. The average price was about £3 a pot back then - I see similar ones in the shops now for about £5-6 but the colour range doesn't seem as extensive anymore.
Now the choice seems to be between red, blue, green, pink, orange, purple and yellow and that seems to be about it. About 20 years ago they came in such glorious shades as Flamingo Pink, Peacock Blue, Vermillion, Pillarbox Red, Canary, Lime, Emerald, etc etc - and I tried nearly all of them on my magnificent spikey hairdo!

Advantages: Can cause beautiful effects and they're long lasting (on and off the eyes!) Disadvantages: You have to get used to using a loose powder eyeshadow

I do find it can be tricky to apply but after first few uses you soon become aware of it and get used to that. First few times I found I used to get flecks on my face but not only do I realise the amount I need on my brush so I'm not overloading it I do find that either putting some loose powder under my eyes, then applying this to my eyes and then dusting away the loose powder helps but if I do have a few specks I can clean it up easy with a little pressed powder. It really isn't messy to use once you get the hang of it.
The colours are lovely and I've tried out quite a few now. They are intense and infused with crushed glitter particles which really do shimmer, and shimmer all day very strongly. No mess, no fuss and very sophisticated and not cheap or too young looking. I'm34 and don't want to look like I fell off last years...

...For most women, shopping for underwear is like shopping for shoes, you can spend hours admiring all the different designs and colours before finally buying more than you need. The amount of money I spend on underwear each year would probably be enough to buy a small Island, but it's worth it. Nice underwear gives me the same confidence boost that most women get from wearing a new pair of shoes.
Most of my money is spent in La Senza, where they have a wide range of styles, colours and most importantly - sizes. I have had difficulties finding nice bras in my size in the past, I'm a 34DD and you usually find most shops only go up to a C, which can be very frustrating. This is the reason why I always ask the sales assistant what sizes they have before I even start looking, instead of wasting my time looking at underwear, eventually...

...good guess that we won't have very slim legs and ankles. Shoes with straps going across is another nightmare in itself. Those velcros fastening ones, good idea except they forgot to make the furry bit of velcro strap long enough to cover all the spikey side of the velcro, I've ruined more pairs of tights that I care to remember.
Underwear, well what can I say, I'd like nice bra's that doesnt have 3in thick straps and 5 million hooks and eyes, and also don't cost ridiculous prices. I'm34 not 94. Some of the bra's on offer are what me granny used to wear. They do have nicer ones, but they always have horrid thick straps, I'm convinced we don't need the straps that big.
Tights are never long enough in the waist full stop. They ladder the minute you put em on as well.
In general the clothes aren't cheap but if you go to Next you...

...Sorry to follow on so soon after Wiggglypuff's fine opinion on the same but as someone who is "well-tattooed" I couldn't resist having my say!
I myself have 11 tattoos, some quite large, most of which I have had for well over 10 years now - I had my first when I was 20 - I'm34 and don't regret any of them for one minute - they are part of me. My own recommendations would be NEVER have any lettering other than your name, steer clear of having areas such as face, hands and neck tattooed. If needs be, later you can cover arms, legs etc if necessary - tattoos which can't be hidden can blight your life in later years. NEVER do it on a whim - think long and hard about what you want done, have it designed specially if needs be, and check out a few tattooists and ask around other people with tattoos before choosing where to go.
