I have called them once with a software related query - it's a freephone number, and I spoke to a very knowledgable guy who sorted out the problem (user error) in minutes. Much to my amazement, he called back the next day to check everything was OK. Connect an external drive to a Firewire or USB port and your iMac will ask if you want to run Time Machine. This is a backup program that runs in the background to ensure that you never lose an important file or e-mail again. If you are looking for a stylish replacement for your existing PC, you could do an awful lot worse than buy this computer and install Windows. ...I use Windows XP Pro every day for my job as a web designer but need a laptop to show clients my work. A laptop would also allow me to backup all my accounting files and work on them anywhere. I've never used the Mac operating system but after reading several good reviews I decided to go for it. And I wasn't disappointed! I ordered my system from Apple UK's website. I went for a refurbished model and save over £100. Everything was sealed inside but a plain cardboard refurbished box was used instead of the normal MacBook packaging. It could have passed from brand new it was in such good condition. I decided to get an Apple MacBook Core Duo 1.83 Ghz with 512mb of RAM. ...If you like "Blues for Greeny" by Gary Moore then listen to the subject "Peter Green" playing the original music, although this album just features the title track "If You Be Me Baby". Others can be found on "Fleetwood Mac" the bands first album (The one with the Dog and Dustbin in an alleyway) It is possible that Peter Green is using the same guitar on "Mr Wonderful" that Gary Moore used on "Blues for Greeny" as Peter gave or sold it to him "Mr Wonderful" is the first album I bought, it sold me on the Blues. Whether it be because you 'really should be looking into getting' a backup system, or are cussing because you *haven't* got a backup system, and it's too late! Now I'm hoping that the reason you're reading this is not because of the latter, but rather because you're worried because you haven't got any backup system in place and don't want to loose any work. This opinion is based on my experiences of installing and using NovaBack+ at work. The version of NovaBack+ we use is 6.60 and is installed on a PIII 600 machine with 128mb of RAM and Windows 95. Now under the Roxio monicker, Backup MyPC 6.0 is the latest version of the now long established backup and recovery program. The Program can be used standalone but also integrates nicely with the current version of RecordNow! Deluxe. One of Backup MyPC's strengths is the wide range of hardware it supports. As well as tape, CD and DVD, it also works with ZIP and JAZ drives and other removable type media. IDE, SCSI and USB are all supported although there are some caveats.
