My Mac Mini :)

Advantages: Cheaper than iMac, looks really cool, is quiet (great for music production) and small, & Mac OS X!
Disadvantages: price (if you don't mind PC's), may get you hooked an Apple as I am and will take all your money

...I am a big Apple fan and have had more ipods than you can shake a stick at, so when i started my music tech course at college and worked with macs everyday, I couldnt resist having a play with them in the Apple shop. Two jobs and 4 pay slips later, I ordered my Mac Mini! Initially I had looked at iMacs as they seemed to have a lot more feature than the base Mac Mini, but the price was a bit too much for me, so I opted for the 2ghz Mac Mini with 2gb Ram (optional extra) and 120gb hard drive. First thing is first. It is the coolest looking thing I own without a doubt. It is so small and quiet it takes up virtually no space on my desk. It is only slightly bigger than a CD box! Obviously the Mac Mini doesn't come with a keyboard, mouse or monitor- so I went on Amazon and got myself a 19" lcd monitor that connected by VGA. The adapter...

Apple Mac Mini 1.83 Ghz

Advantages: Small and good value
Disadvantages: not as powerful as most other Macs

...I am using this right now. it is a really good product for those who are trying out OS X for the first time. I use it for typing up work and surfing the net, and the occasional DVD. Advantages: Good old Apple giving the Mac a sexier bodice, good starting price

Advantages: compact, cute, and it is a macintosh!

Great introduction to Mac OS / Home Theater PC

Advantages: Price, performance, design, OSX 10.5, Windows with Bootcamp, HTPC, remote controll

...I recently upgrade from a 1.5Ghz G4 stealth upgrade Mac Mini to the Core 2 Duo 1.83 Ghz mini and I am very impressed with the performance improvements. With Xbench the Core 2 Duo was approximately twice as fast as the G4 on many tests. The Mac Mini has a very small form factor 6.5"x6.5"x2" which makes it well suited as a Home Theater PC (HTPC) or for desktop use where space is at a premium. I primarily use the mini as an everyday computer with some HTPC use. The computer looks at home both on the desk and under a TV. The Mac Mini is an excellent entry level computer or an introduction to Macs. This is not to say the computer is limited in capabilities. Mac Mini - A great little machine

Advantages: Small enough to go anywhere and great spec in such a small space
Disadvantages: OSX can be a bit tricky for new users

...The Mac Mini is an excellent little piece of kit and I have owned one for about 5 months now. It has a great size and easily fits into the very small amount of space that I actually have on my desk. The design is very nice and has the usual look that all apple products seem to have nowadays. Even though it is a great machine it has not yet managed to replace my windows desktop. The Specification on this base model are not exactly those of a power PC but if you are only going to use it as an office machine then this should not be a problem. If you want a machine for gaming it is probably worth looking at something with a little higher specification. Saying that though the Mac mini doesn't handle games too badly, I have been playing age of empires 3 on it quite happily now for about 2 months and it seems to have no problem with it...

Advantages: Fantastic and unbeatable range of colours and finishes
