Advantages: No viruses, Fast, Expandable RAM, Easy to use, Stylish and rigid

...After using Windows-based machines for many years and finally growing sick of viruses and constant manual updates, I decided to purchase a Mac. Good Mac AND PC user buy

Advantages: design construction ease of use
Disadvantages: lack of velocity engine software, slow surfing

...For MacUsers upgrading from a non 'G' Mac you will notice a real speed increase, and maybe too for beige G3 owners. But for the later blue and white G3 machines the upgrade is perhaps best left for a G5 as those in the know, - know, the G4 is essentially a tweaked G3 with a 'special instruction set', so any speed gains from this upgrade will not be great, infact speed for speed e.g. G3 400Mhz Vs G4 400Mhz the differential is not that great, the gains perhaps more attributable to the speed tweaks in the motherboard, RAM etc. Software which takes advantage of this 'special instruction set' the 'velocity engine' part of the G4 chip will show huge gains in speed compared to non velocity engine optimised software. Running Photoshop (which is velocity engine optimised) should make a G4 400Mhz very roughly the same speed as a Pentium III 1...

I go Back to MAC!

Advantages: Fantastic and unbeatable range of colours and finishes
Disadvantages: Dislike the frost texture, some aren't very long lasting, some can be drying

...When it comes to makeup, lipstick has to top the list as my must-have item. I have annoyingly pale lips which look odd against my slightly lighter than olive skin so I need a bit of colour on them to perk up my complexion. My makeup collection consists of lots of lipsticks and generally speaking, MAC is my go-to brand, due to their vast colour collection and the variety of finishes that they offer. Although Maxfactor's tagline is "The Makeup of Makeup Artists", it would really be better applied to MAC, as I've yet to come across a Makeup Artist who doesn't rave about the range and have a box stocked to the brim with hundreds of pots of MAC colour. The colour is the real selling point of the range: unlike other brands, they focus all of their energy on makeup rather than sidelining in skincare, which means that the sheer variety of colour...

Review of MAC Lipstick

Mac > PC?...

Advantages: Beautiful design, packed with features, light up keyboard
Disadvantages: Can get quite hot

...to the man at the Apple store in Bournemouth, he was a great help and didn't mind spending a bit of time with me discussing all of the features and giving me some handy tips!) As a frequent PC user, I was instantly blown away with the ease of use of the MacBook Pro. Upon booting up it asked me what my name was and what the password to my router was, then, two or three minutes later I had a fully set up computer. No restarts, no discs and no clicking. It was a truly pleasant procedure. I instantly set about exploring the settings for my new computer and took the advice given to me by the Apple man by configuring the multi touch. Two seconds later and I was up and running. Let me just say that OS X Leopard is beautiful, the dock looks amazing reflecting anything on the desktop while the semi-transparant menubar at the top stays out...

...and mostly computer orientated so it’s not that annoying. For £1.20 it’s well buying there’s tonnes to read and 90 pages of useful computer info. You can check the web user site out at: www.web-usr.co.uk and find most of the magazine content here. Overall a very good read, it comes out every fortnight. I enjoy reading it on the train and there’s enough good content to keep me interested until the new issue comes out. For a magazine so cheap I definitely recommend buying it....

Once You Go Mac, You Never Go Back!

Advantages: Fast, Brilliant Design, Brilliant Software, Brilliant!
Disadvantages: Pricey

...a brilliant machine. I feel it is worth every penny but the price is very high and it would be nice is Apple could knock, even a little bit off the price. Another thing that is annoying that I have noticed is there is a very limited amount of games and software you can get for Mac. When looking in Woolworths there was only one game suitable for Mac which was a Sims game. The rest were all only suitable for Microsoft. According to a blogger I read, a lot more software and game designers are taking Mac users into account when making games and there should be a lot more on the market soon. Until then it is a flaw. Conclusion Wow, I hadn't realised I have written over 2,500 words but I hope I have persuaded you that this is a brilliant computer to have. I conclude that this is a fantastic bit of machinery to have and am recommending it...

MAC lipstick

Advantages: wide colour range and finishes, vibrant colour, highly pigmented, smooth and non-drying
Disadvantages: none

...I love MAC lipsticks! I fist discovered them about 4 years ago and haven't looked back since! I do still use other brands like Dior, Lancome, Clinique and Urban Decay, but when I want a nice, vibrant lippy that will stay put, I always go for my MAC! I own about 30 odd MAC lipsticks and my shades vary from nude, to pinks, purples, reds and the odd blue. I love to experiment with different looks and MAC definitely helps me to achieve that! I often fall in love with their limited edition shades, but sadly for me they are limited edition and I either have to wait around for a relaunch or try and get it from Ebay or perhaps they pro stores. The lipsticks are very smooth and apply nicely and evenly and feel very comfortable on the lips. They stay put as well and even when I don't use a lip liner, I don't have problems with them bleeding...

Mac Cosmetics Lipglass

Advantages: A long lasting well pigmented product.
Disadvantages: Price and can be drying to the lips once removed.

...I have one lipglass from mac in the shade 'plus luxe', which is a bright red. Unfortunately this does not appear to be listed on the mac website anymore, leading me to believe it may have been limited edition. I will therefore attempt to make this a generic review of lipglass in general and hope that it holds true for the rest of the collection. For starters, the lipglass retails currently at £11.50 on maccosmetics.co.uk. Each tube contains 4.2ml of product. The gloss has a black top with a wand attached, this screws into the tube of lipglass. The wand picks up a very ample amount of product, the top of the tube is wide enough to let it pass through without scraping all the product off which is a bonus. The lipglasses contain what looks like very fine glitter dust in them, giving the lipglass an irridescent light reflecting quality...

Dazzle your eyes with MAC Pigment (MAC Pigments)

Advantages: Pigment does not streak or cake, is easy to blend and long-lasting.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive

...I've been using MAC Pigment for about a year now, they are basically a loose colour powder that contains ingredients to help it adhere to the skin. I always use an eye primer before application of the Eye pigment. I usually buy my pigment from the MAC website where they retail at £15, they come in a 7.5g pot which lasts me about 6 months so in my opinion its worth the price. I currently own Cornflower which is a blue colour, Golden Olive which is green and Fuschia which is purple. I apply the pigment with a brush and you can build the colour up for a deeper effect. If you wet an eye liner brush you can apply the pigment as an eye liner however there is not much difference between wet and dry application in my opinion. If you want to you can mix pigment with lip gloss to make a lip stain. I really like the fact that the pigment does...
