...Apple mac-books, where to start... ok, so to start, it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are. this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop. The laptops technical specs include a very fast 2.5 ghz dual core proccesor which is very fast, the dual core allows it to tackle multiple tasks quicly as well as increasing the overall speed of the laptop. Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 13.3" - I'm a convert

Advantages: Stylish, flexible, super fast startup
Disadvantages: Pricey compared to a PC

...After thinking what laptop to buy for over a year I kept falling back on the idea of buying mac! I had wireless set up and off I went to buy a laptop. I fell in love with the macbook very sexy and simple (bit like myself)! I'm not here to bore you with specs (you know what you need you just want to know how well it performs). Macbook core 2 duo 13.3 inch aluminium casing

Advantages: Stylish design, solid case, light weight

...Recently i decided to purchase the new aluminium cased apple macbook. The price is quite high starting off around £900. I took a trip down to my local apple shop to find out a little more about the macbook, I got talking to a member of staff in store who told me a little more about the system i wanted to purchase and about discounts i could recieve. As i am a student i recieved my macbook with a 14% discount and also 3 years warranty for £50. Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHz - 13.3" TFT - excellent!

Advantages: portable, runs very fast, large storage with TimeMachine application for backing up your work
Disadvantages: some problems with using Safari, though this may be due to the wireless network I am using, costs!

...In my opinion, the Apple Macbook Pro is an ideal laptop. As a student, I find that it meets all my needs - I can store plenty of music, photos etc even though I bought the cheapest one with the smallest memory. The system operates very fast and comes with both Firefox and Safari. My only criticism is that it only comes with textedit and so you have to buy iWorks for around £65. However, despite this it is good value for money and I don't regret spending my 2 years worth of part-time earnings on it! It has everything I want from a laptop and is ideally portable and good for watching films despite the smaller screen size. Another feature I particularly liked was that it has a light up keyboard for when you are in darker rooms - you can adjust the brightness of the keyboard the same as you can for the screen. Macbook Review

Advantages: Fantastic operating system and programs, great features, portability style
Disadvantages: inbuilt graphics

...work, and browse the internet. The battery is also very good. On power saving settings and doing something like work processing or web browsing, I can get up to 3.5 hours of battery life. The hard drive and the RAM are user serviceable. My machine came with 1GB of ram which I upgraded to 4GB. I will also be upgrading the hard drive soon. Overall this is a very good computer and I would definitely recommend buying it....

Advantages: Smooth, silent, good looking, more than capable, satisfying.
Disadvantages: Arguably the cost, some very minor issues in very few cases.

Macbook after 4 months

Advantages: Design, iSight, solid OS (OS X), battery life, build quality, good value for money
Disadvantages: White Macbook turns dirty quickly, lack of popular games, no dedicated graphics, no card reader

...for about 3 hours, which compares with its competitors. Charging time is considerably slower (3-4 hours for a full charge). The performance is very good with the Core 2 duo processor. Although I haven't used OS X on a slower processor so I can't compare the speeds but it does seem fast on this one. Dedicated graphic card would be a pleasant bonus but the shared graphic card works just fine for normal usage. Overall, have an open mind and you will love Mac. At this time, when I think of Windows, all that comes to mind is viruses, crashes and Ctrl+Alt+Del. Oh and I forgot to mention that I don't game so Mac suits me all the more. If you can't live without gaming then maybe Mac is not for you....
