Maclaren Techno XLR
Review of Maclaren Europe Limited Techno XLR Buggy by  csbeecher

Advantages: Great for baby to walking, wider, studier, taller but still with great manoeuvrability.
Disadvantages: Hood is a bit lightweight and can get in the way when seat is fully reclined

...I have had Maclaren buggies since my son was 6 months old. My son is now just over 3 years and I have a 10 month old daughter. My last Maclaren was the techno xt which I have just swapped for the xlr for a number of reasons: 1. The xlr is bigger so can hold either my son or daughter comfortably. It is wider so my son is not squashed in and there is a lot more headroom. Although it is wider it is still narrow enough. 2. Its weight limit is a lot higher than most lightweight buggies at well over 20kgs which once again means that I can use it for both children, plus it also fits a car seat if needed. 3. The hood extends with a nifty zip, so when you recline your baby the sun protection is still offered. This is also great for creating a darker environment for your baby to sleep. This is a great feature. 4. It is pricier... Read review

The TOTAL total low-down on the Maclaren Techno!
Review of McLaren Techno Buggy by  Wackywaith

Advantages: Light; Compact; Easy to fold; Suitable from birth; Good quality
Disadvantages: Stability issues; Lack of storage; Not for uneven surfaces

...**Background** I have owned my Maclaren Techno Classic for nearly two years so I think I know it pretty well now. We are buddies! I bought this buggy as an alternative to my Graco travel system after doing much research. It is an single umbrella stroller with two separate handles, a small basket, passenger foot rest and a sun canopy. I have two children who have both used this buggy. My daughter is now 2 years old and my son is 6 months old. **Specs** The Techno weighs 17.4Ib which makes it a nice, light stroller, whilst still retaining some important features like a sun/rain canopy. It folds down in an umbrella style to a size - 43" by 11". This makes it easy to transport in smaller cars or by public transport. **Age range** The stroller is suitable from birth as it features *almost* fully reclining seats. I emphasise... Read review

Maclaren Techno XT
Review of McLaren Techno Buggy by  VJPearson

Advantages: Light, manouverable
Disadvantages: small basket

...I have had my New Maclaren Techno for 4 weeks(Isabelle 23/12/05) Isabelle is my 4th child and I have been through a variety of buggies and pushchairs - so I carefully researched - including this site - to make sure this time I got the right one. My criteria were, It must be... Easy to push - The maclaren is amazingly easy to push , its very light and very controllable Be comforatble for both me at 5'5 and My husband at 6' to push- I took Hubby to Mothercare to try it out before we bought it , and He wizzed round the store with it - It has handles that you can change the height of to accomodate different people - very handy! Practical - obviously Isabelle is only little yet, so we haven't had to clean it yet - but it looks easy to clean and is practical - the seat is removable and washable. Have a good raincover - All... Maclaren XLR with Profi Plus Recaro car seat
Review of Maclaren Europe Limited Techno XLR Buggy by  beccasten

Advantages: Fantastic travel system and buggy and car seat duo
Disadvantages: None

...Maclaren XLR with Recaro profi plus car seat. Amazing buggy and amazing car seat. If you can ignore the diabolical colours Maclaren have chosen. And their diabolical marketing and sales strategy. However I am assured their service and after sales is excellent. We got a 2006 version in standard Techno grey thank god, I certainly would not push my baby around in the brown/pink or cream orange combinations. RECARO Car seat - this is a top notch car seat with the highest safety rating, actually beats the maxi cosi on safety but loses points for having a gloomy view! Daft. Its isofix base is much cheaper too and the same base is used for the next size recaro seat. We got it for £60 so search about. (Incidentially, the next size car seat is also amazing.) The material is a suede like feel and is very plush. It comes with removable head... Read review

MACLAREN – THE FERRARI OF PUSHCHAIRS
Review of McLaren Techno Buggy by  mysteryshopper2

Advantages: Lightweight, easy to manoeuvre & collapse
Disadvantages: see op

...by a rolled-up umbrella. The first Maclaren Buggy was created in the converted stables of his restored medieval farmhouse, Arnold House, in the village of Barby, Northamptonshire weighed just six pounds. A British patent application was filed on 20 July 1965, and a cognate application on 10 August 1965. A British Patent was granted. In 1978 Queen Elizabeth II's New Year Honour's List awarded a MBE to Owen Maclaren. He died in April 1978 at the age of 71. His legacy, the Maclaren "Buggies" (umbrella strollers) are sold all over the world in over 50 countries and in places as far-flung as New Guinea, the Bahamas, Chile and the Middle East, with the USA, Australia and Europe being the major export markets. THE STROLLER Although Christopher has only been using the pushchair for the past month, I am reliably informed the Maclaren Techno XT... Read review

Maclaren Techno-a good buy but shop around
Review of McLaren Techno Buggy by  newsmith

Advantages: lightweight, folds very small, can be used from birth
Disadvantages: tips over in strong wind, baby can only face outwards

...We bought this buggy as our existing pram is great but takes up too much room in the car for holidays, etc. It is a well designed, lightweight buggy which fits into the boot of my tiny Daihatsu. You can put it up and collapse it with one hand, and it has a useful carrying handle. We have been using the Maclaren since our baby was three months, and she seems quite cosy in it. It is a shame that small babies have to face away from you in it, but I should imagine that this is the case with all folding buggies. There is a useful window on the hood which allows you to check on the baby whilst walking. It is very easy to manoeuvre and the adjustable handle height is useful if both you and your partner wish to use it comfortably. The shopping basket underneath the buggy is quite small, but don't be tempted to hang shopping... Read review

McLaren Techno XT buggy
Review of McLaren Techno Buggy by  pooliebaby

Advantages: lightweight, Manoeuvrable
Disadvantages: quite expensive

...I bought the Maclaren Techno XT buggy as a replacement for a cheaper model I had to return to store. I chose this particular model based on what I had heard of the brand name and also because it was light weight and appeared to be durable. The pushchair will last a family for many years as it is quite roomy and will grow with a child.. As it has a 4 position adjustable seat it can be used for a child from birth. My son likes to sit up and although he is only 5 months old, it is possible for him to sit semi upright in this buggy and take in the world as he pleases. It has suspension on both the front and the rear wheels that make it very easy to push as well as swivel/ lockable wheels. I don't use the lockable facility as this makes the pushchair difficult to turn. The only use I have found for the lockable wheels... Read review

Another Triumph for Maclaren
Review of Maclaren Europe Limited Triumph by  mummy2harry

Advantages: Lightweight, good value for money, funky design, reliable
Disadvantages: Stupid brakes but you do get used to it

...I have had a Silver Cross pushchair since Harry was born in March 06, and although I really love that buggy, I have been looking for something smaller for going shopping with, especially now the shops will be busy with people starting their Christmas shopping. I have loved Maclaren buggies for a while, and my partner finally decided that we could get one. I settled on a Triumph, one of the smallest buggies in the Maclaren range, and I am so thrilled with it, I thought I would write a little review on it! Maclaren are probably one of the most well known lightweight pushchair manufacturers. They are most famous for their umbrella-folding buggies which you will mums all over the UK pushing around, and there are many different buggies to suit all needs available from them. Maclaren began in 1965 and have become bigger and better since... Read review

Maclaren Triumph Triumphs!
Review of Maclaren Europe Limited Triumph by  danmclovin

Advantages: Lighweight & compact!
Disadvantages: Not many reclining positions!

...I bought the Maclaren Triumph stroller as a lightweight, more convenient method of transport for my little boy. I felt that there was no longer a need to take the travel system pram everywhere, and the Maclaren Triumph turned out to be the perfect replacement. The Triumph is very lightweight and compact, and even comes with a shoulder strap so that you can close it up and sling it over your shoulder when not in use ... that's how lightweight it is. The stroller is made from a very sturdy aluminium frame, and comes with every accessory you would expect from a top quality pushchair, a hood, shopping basket, rain cover and inter-changeable harness'. The stroller has a 5-point safety harness, and the shoulder straps are height adjustable. The stroller is very easy to open out and also folds neatly. The handles are foam insulated... Read review

No match for a Maclaren
Review of Cosatto Helix by  catherine2001

Advantages: good raincover, easy recline, high handles for tall parents
Disadvantages: hard to manoeuvre up kerbs/push one handed; easy to lose clip; badly fitting harness

...I bought this buggy secondhand when my Maclaren Techno broke (after long faithful service) . I would say it is not a bag buggy but I really disliked it in comparison to the Maclaren (& have now replaced it with another Maclaren). Good points - quite sturdy, zip on raincover is quite easy to fit (this is the only thing I preferred to the Maclaren), carry handle for use when folded. Easy to recline. Nice high handles - good for a tall person. Downsides - has a removable clip to hold it together when folded but unfortunately this is easily lost! I found the harness did not fit my son very well - it was too loose across the waist and he could easily wriggle out. It is much harder to push one handed and to get up and down kerbs than the Maclaren - hard to tilt backwards. I couldn't work this one out so spent a while in a baby shop... Read review
