(+) Good coverage on latest catwalk trends, full of useful fashion tips, interviews of celebs are good (-) Many articles in the mag have an unhealthily bitchy, self-obsessed, weight-obsessed slant (*) (On Ciao since: 07/2000)

...Grazia magazine has probably become my favourite magazine out at the moment. I think as I've grown older I have moved away from wanting to know what is happening in the Big Brother house (although I have never wanted to know and never watched the show) as told in Heat magazine and the like and feel I have also moved away from the problem pages "my boyfriend slept with my sister" in such magazines as Cosmo, etc. I am not looking either for magazines that let you take surveys to see if he really is the one or if your surname and star sign matches with his. I am however, still looking for fashion, interesting people stories and some celebrity news and for me Grazia has all of those things.
Grazia is actually an Italian magazine which has international editions, obviously including one in the United Kingdom. It actually says on the front...

Review of Grazia Magazine
Advantages: One of the cheaper magazines of its type, good coverage of celebrity happenings Disadvantages: Only small articles on anything but celebrity's
...Here goes a (hopefully) unbiased review of the magazine Star.
I buy a fair few glossy magazines, ranging from my subscription to Glamour to whatever celebrity magazine catches my eye on the newsstand, so I'm fairly well practiced at knowing what content should be in a magazine such as this, and whether it's worth the cover price.
About Star
Star magazine is a weekly British celebrity magazine published by Northern and Shell (who also publish the British papers Daily Star, The Express and their Sunday counterparts).
The current cover price for a copy is 99p, and this week's edition (issue 248 / 6th October 2008) was 114 full colour pages.
Star is a celebrity gossip magazine, so most of the content is a round up of what celeb's have been doing during the week. What they've been wearing, who slated who in...

Review of Star Magazine
Advantages: Best magazine i have read yet Disadvantages: None
...PACKAGING, DESIGN AND CONTENT
This comes inside plastic packaging, inside the packaging of the issue that i bought there is a glittery gold purse and a Chupa Chups lolly included. That also came in plastic packaging. Inside there is also the main book which of course is the sugar magazine and there is also a lads magazine.The sugar magazine is small in comparison to the cosmopolitan magazine that i would usually buy. There is lots of information on the cover about the articles which are inside the magazine. They always have a popular celebrity on the front of it. This months issue has Cheryl Cole on it. Its very brightly coloured, decorated with bright green colouring and big fancy pink lettering and has some interestingly named articles which catch your attention. On the top it tells you that you get "two magazines" for the price...

Review of Sugar Magazine
...My favourite weekly women's magazine and it stands up well to the monthlies, the Grazia is a weekly magazine hitting the shelves on a Tuesday morning and priced about the £2 mark. It is aimed at the Vogue/Elle style readers, differentiating itself from the other weekly magazines by being more fashion led and not too trashy or celeb driven.
It has high end advertising which is also seen in the Vogue & Elle.
It roughly comes in at 134 pages and the Editor in Chief is Jane Bruton.
It's regular features include:
Fashion Charts - 2 pages of that weeks fash packs top 10 items from High Street to Designer.
Cover - Story - more in depth article.
10 Hot Stories - stories that everyone is talking about from fashion led content to world news and celebs.
Grazia Report - taking a hard look at issues that affect its readership...

Review of Grazia Magazine
Advantages: Good for celebrity gossip, a well written magazine Disadvantages: to much celebrity nonsense
...~~~~~ Background of me and 'the mag' ~~~~~
I love my magazines. Like any other woman I suppose. I love gossip, I love advice (sometimes we are too scared to ask even our friends and family for advice on some things,) I love reading about the misfortunes of celebrities, (sick i know) and I love the odd story which is real life and 'non-celeb related' these stories after all, bring us down to earth, sadden us and even inspire us.
There comes a point however when you realise that you are buying about 4 magazines a week, is it because i'm really that shallow???? Really that vain????
Short answer...... Yes, magazines probe vanity.
Longer answer.....No, the reason woman buy lots of different magazines, is simply that each magazine contains different things, and we woman, need everything!!!!!
~~~~~~~~ down to the heat...
Review of Heat - Magazine
Advantages: Lots of content & Free gift Disadvantages: Price is fairly high
...Cbeebies Weekly Magazine......
Jack is a big fan of Cbeebies and it is a channel that is on in our house more than any other, so when I saw this magazine relating to the television channel I thought I would give it a try. Cbeebies the television channel is based for children of pre-school age, so really from birth to 4 but has shows suitable for children of all ages (and some shows I really do like). The magazine related entirely to this channel, the shows aired on it and the presenters.
The magazine costs £1.99 pence which I find a little high for any magazine however it does always come with a free gift which makes you feel you are getting a bit more for your money. This price is about right though when looking at all the other children's magazines they are all in the same price bracket. I often buy it when doing...
Review of CBeebies Magazine
Advantages: Good read , Suitable for teenagers , includes useful sources of information , affordable Disadvantages: You have to wait a whole month for the next issue!
...In my opinion Sugar magazine is the best teenage magazine that there is.It's full of helpful information that meets teenagers' needs such as information on boys , life , health , sex and it answers all the embaressing questions teenagers are too embaressed to ask.
It's great value for money at £2.30.
It's good that it allows the readers get involved such as real life stories , problems , embaressing moments etc! and also pays them well for their stories.
I like the fact that it features normal-like celebs on the cover that teenagers feel they can relate too such as Emma watson.
Because the magazine only comes out once a month I find that the gossip is not up to date.
The cover is eye-catching and fun.They advertise products that appeal to teenagers for example girlie movies and fashion.It also has it's own website at www...
-Like many people, I have been known to read the odd Heat magazine. Sometimes, it seems as though I can't even walk into a shop without my gaze being drawn towards the magazine ailse, and I end up buying the magazine. But how does it compare with its competitors? I'm about to tell you..
WHATS GOOD
-This magazine is not bad value for money. I cannot remember how much exactly I paid for it, but I remember that it wasn't a huge amount. You can get similar magazines for cheaper, but I think that Heat contains more than they do, so it's worth paying that little bit extra.
-It is a nice thick magazine which can keep you occupied for a couple of hours.
-It contains information about celebrities along with fashion and entertainment pages.
