Magaluf
Advantages: Sun, sea & sand
Disadvantages: sunburn, or potentially annoying reps if with young tour group.
...*Please Note - this is based on my experience, as an 18 year-old student, so those with family looking for a summer holiday may not find this to be the most useful review for them!!*
During mid-July this year, myself along with five other mates jetted off to Magaluf on the Spanish island of Majorca for some sun, sea and sand before we all went our seperate ways to university. Looking for a wild and entertaining week, we opted for Magaluf on it's reputation for satisfying the "18-30" generation. We booked through First Choice and their group "2wentys" - specifically designed for young people going on holiday to destinations such as Magaluf, Ibiza, Corfu etc. We stayed at the Gabarda hotel, a basic two star appartment with a beach only 500 metres away, in Palma Nova, a small town literally ten minutes walk along the beach front to...

Magaluf - mad mad mad
Advantages: Wicked Nightlife
Disadvantages: Didn't come upon any
...Stayed here in August 2003 and really , really enjoyed it. I went as part of a group of 8 girls aged 18- 21 and we all had a wicked time!
We stayed in the playa cas s'abones apartments and were very impressed by their size and cleanliness, it was well worth paying the little extra for decent accomodation!
We went here for the nightlife and we weren't disappointed. This place is pumping. You have your traditional bars and clubs. A great offer here was 8 euro entrance that allowed you into 4 clubs, boomerangs, car wash, bananas and tokyo joe's and entitled you to a free drink. This makes for very cheap nights out!!
Magaluf is a very reasonable resort. Expect to pay around 10 euro for a meal with drinks included. A great little find is tom browns on magaluf beachfront- british grub served by british staff if your missing your home...

Magaluf 2004
Advantages: sun sea sand
Disadvantages: PR reps in fluresent tops- so annoying
...Myself and 8 of my friends were looking for a lively holiday in July, august 2004 and the majority of travel agents we visited, recommended magaluf in Majorca. 8 months on and 9 pale brits arrived at Palma airport. First impression was the weather, very hot and a fairly clean well facilitated airport. a few moments later and we were all sitting on a well air conditioned coach heading into Magaluf, the transfers time took approximately 1 hour which wasn't that bad as it flew by as we were all so excited and the views from the coach were pretty interesting.
Upon arrival at our hotel, Don Manolo which looked to be situated on the outskirts of Magaluf, right next to Pirates (shall explain later) first impression of our hotel was oh my god what is this!! the hotel that we had picked was a typical 3* sol hotel in need of a good paint job...

Magaluf - My first holiday experience.
Advantages: Lively, cheap, excellent beaches.
Disadvantages: Dirty, full of english louts. The city never sleeps.
...I went to Magaluf in June 2005. This was my first holiday experience without being in the company of my parents.
Me and my boyfriend arrived at the hotel after a two hour flight and a 40 minute coach journey. The hotel looked extremely minging from the outside. The Fiesta Magamar it was called. You walk in and find that there are about eight floors, there are corridors around the inside of the building with a hollow middle part. This means that you can hear everything from the top floor to the bottom reception. (The layout compared to that you would expect to see in a prison.)
We went to our room and first of all looked out of the balcony, we had a great view over the mountains, from our window we could see two nearby water parks and a go-karting track. The view was slightly spoiled by a broken chair lodged in a tree below...

Magaluf, Majorca a great fun holiday
Advantages: Lots to do, BCMs, Pirates
Disadvantages: Food can be expensive
...This holiday was my first without my parents in July 2006. I was with my boyfriend and we were staying in the Majorca Beach Hotel in Magaluf.
1.The Hotel - Majorca Beach Hotel
Plain from outside, but rooms were of a good standard. We were self-catering, so didn't experience the food but we were told my other holiday makers it was good. The hotel was in a good location, near enough to the strip that you could stumble home, but far enough away so that you could get some sleep! Right next to the beach too!
There were two pools, an adults and kids pool. Very cold and lovely in the sun but boring and square and quite deep. The hotel 'apparently' made sure no one reserved sun loungers near the pool, but every morning nearly all the sun loungers were taken, so best bet was to get up early and stick a towel on a couple.
The hotel had...

Summer 2000 - Magaluf
Advantages: Cheap alcohol, fun, lively
Disadvantages: Sunburn, if you aren't careful
...When choosing a holiday destination, what do you look for? For me and my best friend Jesswe were looking for some where with sun & fun. We had just finished our A-levels so we didn't have loads of money to spend largin it in Ibiza. When we were flicking through the brouchures we came across Magaluf, this seemed like a perfect resort, plenty of sun and a top night life. We stayed at the Sol Jamcia hotel, I would totaly recommend this hotel, the rooms were very spacious, the food was absolutely brilliant. We had chosen to stay half board. The largest club in Magaluff is BCM, which also has Millenium a foam party as part of its complex. If you are ever anywhere offering a foam party, you would be stupid to not give it a go. It is a totally unique experience. The only downside is that the major clubs like BCM are more expensive to...

Fun In The Sun!!
Advantages: Fun for all ages, lots of slides, childrens areas
Disadvantages: You have to queue for the slides, only open for 3 months
...Myself and my best friend visited Aqualand while we were on holiday in Magaluf and had a fantastic time.
Location
Aqualand is fairly centrally located and it just a short walk from the main strip where all the bars and nightclubs are. The water park was a little bit away from our hotel so we actually got a taxi to this attraction which only set us back about £3 which I thought was really reasonable.
Price
Entrance to Aqualand will set you back £17 for adults and £10.50 for children (ages 4 - 12). If you actually plan to go to this attraction before you arrive on your holiday then you can book tickets online and receive a 10% discount.
Opening Hours
Sadly, this attraction is only open from June 2nd until the 31st August. In June, the park is open from 10am until 5pm and for July and August, the park is open from 10am...

Good for a party holiday, bad for relaxation
Advantages: Great nightlife, prices are hugely cheap
Disadvantages: No hint of Spanish culture, dirty
...I went to Magaluf last summer with a group of friends and we had a great time. The night life is amazing, and one of the major plus-sides to magaluf is that everything is very cheap.
The best club there, BCM, charges a 30 euro entrance fee, but is open all night and once you are in all your drinks are free and you are given gifts such as t-shirts.
But BCM is not the only place worth visiting on a night out. There are plenty of other great places, such as Boomerang, and the smaller bars are always a good choice to start off a night because they charge ridiculously low prices in order to attract customers, usually giving away free drinks in the process.
That said, Magaluf is not for everyone. I would not recommend it for anyone going on holiday to relax, because the whole place is very noisy.
Neither would I recommend it...

WANTING A FUN LIVELY HOLIDAY?
Advantages: VERY LIVELY RESORT
Disadvantages: NONE
...Hello everyone. I went to Magaluf in June 2005, and I had the best holiday ever. This review is about my experiences there and what I enjoyed mostly about the whole thing.
There are so many things I enjoyed about Magaluf I don't know where to start.
-Hotel-
First let me tell you about the Hotel I stayed at. I stopped at the Sol Jamaica. A very large family based hotel, next to all the shops, clubs and bars, and the beach. Everything was in walking distance to this hotel.
The rooms were lovely, with air conditioning, and plenty of space. The staff were more than helpful and very polite.
The entertainment was fantastic. They had something different for you every night. Some nights they would bring professional entertainers in, weather they would be comedians, dancers or singers...

Flamboyan Caribe review
Advantages: Location, food, price
Disadvantages: size of swimming area
...This hotel is right in the middle of all the action in Magaluf.
We stayed here on a half board basis and really got value for money. The Flamboyan Caribe is 2 seperate buildings. The Flamboyan part is the hotel with the caribe part being appartments.
The hotel is situated facing onto Bananas and Car wash night clubs as well as being next door to a few pubs. Very handy for falling home after a late night.
However at the back end of the hotel is the beach. The hotel has private steps leaving the pool area which takes you direct on to the stunning, very clean beach.
The hotel itself is situated a bit off the main road. The reception area is very clean and friendly however the staff were not very good at understanding English. We were situated on the first floor, above the entrance and facing onto the main street. The first night...
