Magellan Explorist 500 Europe

Advantages: Size, speed, colours, waterproof, SD slot
Disadvantages: Reliance on poor Magellan Maps, no third party support

...I wanted a small GPS unit principally for my off road mountain biking activities. It's a real hassle stopping the bike unfolding the OS map and working out precisely where you are, on a legitimate bridle path or in a farmers backyard. When I saw the advert for the new eXplorist 500 at £350, featuring Magellan's topographical UK map, I thought this is it, a bit expensive, but just what I've been waiting for. The reality is somewhat different to the expectation, hence my disappointment. Now don't get me wrong, this little GPS unit is easy to use, it's fast and accurate and will display your position on it's simple and crude basemap as good as any other Garmin or Magellan unit. It will also give you an accurate reading of latitude and longitude or OS grid reference. But what's the use of a 16 colour TFT screen if the map on it...

Advantages: looks good

...Doctor Who is a popular sci-fi family show which has been on and off our screens for many years now. It is an amazing show about a man named the Doctor. He is a Time Lord who travels around in his big blue box known as the Tardis, rescuing and saving those who are in danger from the evil creatures of the universe. He sometimes travels alone but usually he is accompanied by a female companion. Our current Doctor is the gorgeous David Tennant! This Doctor had travelled with a woman in the past named Sarah Jane (Elisabeth Sladen). He was reacquainted with her in series 2: School Reunion back in 2006, when we saw her again, complete with k9. K9 was a dog the doctor had made (his master) out of tin for Sarah Jane, providing a faithful companion for her. He is such a cute little dog, all small and silver, none other is quite as adorable...

Wasting time with District 9

Advantages: Good action sequences, interesting moral ideas.
Disadvantages: Terrible (and I mean terrible) acting, disjointed.

...When an alien race finds itself marooned on earth they are fortunate that a caring humanity give them refuge and their own land in South Africa known as District 9. Years on however, these prawn-like creatures are seen as a resource eating nuisance and live in slum conditions. The subject of abuse from a corrupt government and Nigerian gangs they are about to be relocated to the even worse District 10. Fortunately, they may well have found themselves an unwitting ally in government stooge Wilkus who finds himself exposed to a DNA altering gas. As he becomes more alien by the day will he become their Saviour? I don't really get District 9. It seems to have gone down well with almost all film audiences and critics but I feel like I must be missing something. I think maybe a lot of it is because it has strong apartheid references...

K-9 DVD

Advantages: Good film, storyline an enjoyable movie

The Stylish and Sexy U9

Advantages: Gorgeous, fashionable, stylish, easy to use
Disadvantages: A bit slow sometimes, ringtones aren't great

...Before I start this review, I should say that the U9 is my first new phone in over three years. This is something pretty major for me as I was very attached to my old phone - it might have been old and basic but it offered everything I needed, and I found that most newer phones were either ugly or had the exact same (or worse) specifications than my old phone did - which was pretty surprising for one that was so old! The fact that I *FINALLY* chose to upgrade is a pretty good sign as to just how good the U9 is. The U9 is almost certainly a girls phone. Your colour choices are either pink or purple - the pink designed for 'party girls', and the purple for those that like luxury. The outer appearance of the phone is fantastic. Tent left in ruins by moderate wind

Advantages: Spacious
Disadvantages: Poles incapable of withstanding UK August weather, No spares, No response from Coleman

...After just 9 nights using this tent, we came back to our campsite in Cornwall in August to find it had completely collapsed under the wind (forecast at 26mph so hardly severe). 3 poles snapped (1 in 2 places) and 2 poles were bent badly. We scrapped our holiday. Coleman have not responded to emails and my local store tells me they don't hold spare parts like poles now they are made in China. Also they no longer make this tent. To start with we thought this was agreat family tent and were very happy, but this is the first time in many decades of camping in all sorts of conditions I've had a tent fail so badly and customer service is non-existant so beware!...

House of 9

Advantages: A classic theme
Disadvantages: Terrible script, terrible acting and a disappointing ending

...Buying a film featuring Kelly Brook was always going to be risky but I still couldn?t quite stop myself from putting House of 9 in my Amazon basket ? maybe Dennis Hopper would make up for it? The idea behind this film is similar to that of Saw 2 and based on the classic ?And Then There Were None? theme of several people being forced together only for their number to be reduced until there is only 1 (or possibly 2 or even none) person still standing. In House of 9, 9 strangers are abducted from their everyday life only to be imprisoned together in a completely sealed house furnished with cameras and hidden microphones. They wake up unable to understand what has happened to them until a disembodied voice informs them that they have been put here as part of a game. The winner of the game will receive 5 million dollars but...
