...'s the use of a 16 colour TFT screen if the map on it doesn't use any of the colours? Now this is when I bought the additional Magellan Mapsend Topo GB map for an extra £125. Review of Magellan Explorist 500

Ideal Topos?

Advantages: Influential, interesting from a range of perspectives
Disadvantages: Not an easy read, what is it?

...usage has come a long way from the original sense. The very etymology of the word 'utopia' is fraught with ambiguity. It's derived from the Greek 'topos' [place], but the prefix 'u' could be a contraction of either 'eu-' [good] or 'ou-' [no] - thus a utopia is either 'good place' or 'no place' (maybe both). The contemporary usage seems to focus on the former, but it's not obvious that More's Utopia...

Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream?

Advantages: Some of the wildest images ever shot
Disadvantages: Rather too long and the pace flags towards the end

...This is a review of just the film. A DVD is available, but it?s an expensive £15. A box set featuring El Topo, two other Jodorowsky movies, and a whole bunch of extras came out in 2007. It?s now going for up to £500. I wish I?d bought two copies. Or even three. This is a legendary cult film. It was unavailable for years because of a vicious argument between the director and the film...
