THREE IN ONE
Review of Magimix 4100/16458 by
genesy
Advantages: Very fast and versatile
Disadvantages: Quite heavy
...Magimix 4100 is the only food processor, that I know, which comes with 3 different bowl sizes.
The motor of the processor is in the base that is about 25 x 20 x 15 cm
The three bowls are stuck, one inside the other, over the base of the food processor, in such a way that is possible to use the small one on the top without removing the others, or remove the smallest and use the medium or remove the first two and use the biggest. The smallest bowl has the removable cutting blade already in it and is used for cutting herbs or very small amount of food; I also use it for making castor sugar or icing sugar in small quantity. The second bowl, medium, has, already in it, a special removable "plastic paddle" for beating eggs or making meringues. The most roomy, of course, is the third bowl which is the one that has an handle, it clicks...

Magimix 4200 - food processor
Review of Magimix 4200XL/18404 by
sianalrida
Advantages: Use it for everything in the kitchen
Disadvantages: You need extra space to store blade box
...If you are not versed in the world of food processor's - you are forgiven as not many are.
We recently married and decided to replace our old processor with something more up to date and modern looking that would fit into our kitchen.
What do you get for your money?
The Magimix 4200 comes in a large box with a handle, so easy to carry around if you are shopping (although a bit heavy so buy it at the end of your trip).
The product comprises of 2 parts:
- the main food processor
- a separate plastic storage box for all the components.
The magimix has 3 bowls - mini, midi and a main bowl.
The mini bowl is a small bowl which can be used for things such as chop garlic, to make a salsa verde or pesto. Equally, it is useful when you are only chopping a small amoutn of food, making less to wash up.
The midi bowl...

Awful Magimix 1.5ltr ice cream maker -
Review of Magimix LE Glacier 1.1LTS 11038/73 by
June53
Advantages: There are none
Disadvantages: Lots of them
...What an absolutely terrible machine. Complete and utter waste of money. I will tell you why?
I am a keen cook and my family love icecream. With the cost of the 'speciality' ice creams rather expensive I thought I would invest in an ice cream maker. I chose Magimix as I have had their food processor for many years and they are (I thought) a tried and tested company, so I bought their 1.5 ltr ice cream maker in good faith. What a mistake!!
The machine arrived and not having used one of these machines before, I followed the manufacturers instructions to the letter.
You have to mix the ingredients before you make the ice cream, which I suppose is logical with the cheaper version machines (although with p & p this machine cost £55) and you have to freeze the bowl in the freezer.... which I knew about, but not an easy task...

Mum was right about Magimix
Review of Magimix 5100 White by
wilson777
Advantages: Compact Robust Reliable Fast
Disadvantages: Cannot Replace all appliances, Clean blades with care
...Magimix owners - particularly Mum - say it replaces most gadgets. With a small kitchen and a partner experimenting in the art and science of cuisine it seemed the answer to too many cooks in a small kitchen,
True it’s compact, in chrome it looks good even when left out on the worktop.
It multi-functions -chops, grates, slices, mixes and everything ........almost.
It’s fast, great for coleslaw and cheese grating, and saves time as for many receipes all the ingredients can go in together.
It's Reliable and robust - mum's is still going despite 12 years of constant use and has never had a day off. The design has improved and the speed is much easier to control. Much needed by the novice to food processing - its so easy to look away and return to puree!
Magimix needs extra blades, which cost extra, but they last and stay...

Mixed performance from Magimix
Review of Magimix LE Glacier 1.1LTS 11038/73 by
tomt89
Advantages: Homemade ice cream is much tastier (and additive free!) than many commercial ice creams.
Disadvantages: Getting the bowl at the right temperature is fiddly.
...The Magimix Le Glacier 1.1 will easily produce delicious ice cream, though not especially quickly! The bowl must be frozen (in the household freezer) for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight. However, I have found that it is possible to use the bowl, wash it then return it to the freezer while it is still partly frozen. The ice cream mix must then be prepared; based on custard it can be awkward to make it lump-free and, of course, the mixture is then too hot to freeze directly. Indeed, Magimix advise refrigerating the mixture before freeze churning. Freeze churning, however, only takes around 15 to 20 minutes but the resultant mixture is prone to melting as soon as it is placed in a storage container! The solution is to place the container into the freezer while churning the ice cream and work quickly.
Cleverly, the machine...

The Magimix LeDuo Juicer is worth every penny.
Review of Magimix LE DUO by
izzwizz
Advantages: Excellent juicing, heavy duty motor
Disadvantages: Parts are not dishwasher proof at normal cycles.
...It has been an absolute joy to own this machine, which was bought as a replacement for a Kenwood juicer.
The Magimix LeDuo works like a large centrifuge, spinning the fruit at high speed and extracting the juice through tiny holes in the outside of the spinning drum. The simple design makes it easy to clean, and Magimix even provide a tool for removing fruit pulp so that you can continue to use your machine without having to wash it all up each time you empty the pulp.
EASE OF USE
Extremely easy to use, the juicer can cope with 500g (a pound) of fruit at a time, before you need to remove the pulp. I have successfully used it to juice apples, pineapple, gooseberries, raspberries, apricots, grapes, and even coconut to make coconut milk! The apple juice was so good, I am intending to buy a crate of apples in the autumn.
You need...

Magimix Nespresso M150 coffee machine
Review of Magimix Nespresso M150 11118 /11097 by
nickyg63
Advantages: perfect cup everytime packed full of features for a low cost machine
Disadvantages: a little complicated to use to start with
...I have an earlier nespresso machine and have been very impressed with the coffee, so I bought my dad one for his birthday.
I knew I wanted a reasonably priced machine which one I wasn`t sure which one.
I went into my local house of fraser and found the Magimix M150 in the sale for £77 Bargain!
The machine is basic looking, but very functional and simple to use. It heats up very quickly, and has a cup heater also can froth milk and produce hot water. Great for americano`s and cappuccino`s!
The pod holder can be a little bit tricky to use to start with after a while it becomes second nature
The pods are bought on the net from nespresso`s website you need to try a few to find your favourite, they cost about 23p each compare that to a coffee from starbucks its not bad value.
Tip- Always use filtered water to prolong...

Sip some Citrus but dont take the pith
Review of Magimix LE DUO by
COOOEEE
Advantages: Fresh juice every morning
Disadvantages: May be tempted to try grass juice
...Every morning I wake up to the pleasure of my buzzing machine. He is French and very powerful. He looks smart and has a very solid sturdy body. He takes everything I feed him although he does like me to cut it up into chunks. He is fussy though and likes to be hand fed.
I am of course talking about my Le Duo by Magimix. This is a juicer just in case you hadn't noticed the category heading of my opinion. I am always buying exotic fruits for Laurel and Hardy my baby tortoises, and often have loads left that normally end up being thrown away. I like to try different combination foods so a juicer seemed an ideal way to mix the odd pieces of fruit together.
I already had been given a "smoothie" maker and although I am able to blend some delicious drinks it does not extract the juice from the fruit/vegetables. For years I had used...

TASTE MY JUICE
Review of Magimix LE DUO by
LostWitness
Advantages: Practical, durable, efficient
Disadvantages: Hard work to clean
...A couple of years I had a bit of a craze where healthy eating was concerned. At the time, I often read articles in newspapers and magazines about the health benefits of increasing the amount of fresh fruit and vegetable juices in your diet. Freshly squeezed juices can offer a natural remedy to just about any ailment that you can possibly think of – so a juicer seemed like the essential purchase. Since then juicers and juicing have become more and more popular – many celebrities, such as Geri Halliwell, heavily promote the health benefits of fresh juice, and juice bars are now popping up in many towns and cities. Prepared fruit and vegetable juices are readily available from most supermarkets, but only truly freshly squeezed juice offers the optimum benefits for health.
WHY THE MAGIMIX
A cursory examination of the range...

Not as good as it thinks it is...
Review of Magimix 4200XL/18404 by
wilsonsl
Advantages: Powerful, effective and versatile
Disadvantages: Difficult to clean, expensive
...When our 20-year-old Braun finally gave up shortly before Christmas, it was time to buy a new food processor. I mainly used the Braun for making pastry, as I'm hopeless at it by hand.
I'd've been perfectly happy with another Braun Multipractik, but they don't make them anymore, so I had to look into the market. Broadly, food processors of this type are either cheap-ish £30-£50 Moulinex et al, or you have the Magimixes coming in at £100+. That's quite a leap, so you want to feel that you are getting value for money.
The Magimix comes with a 12-year guarantee on the motor and 3 years on the parts, so you expect it to be quality. The main thing that sold us on this one, however, were the claims about being dishwasher-safe. This is important, as those blades are very sharp, and I still have a scar on my hand to prove it...
