Hilton, Maidstone - A Good Option
Advantages: Location, quality of staff
Disadvantages: Not close to town centre
...including the new Dickens World attraction
Easy access to Channel Tunnel, Ashford International (for Eurostar) and Dover Docks within about 40 mins
The hotel does have a Living Well Health Club with an approx 20m pool and gym but I haven't used it on my last couple of visits so don't feel qualified to comment further.
Overall opinion:
I like this hotel and you normally get excellent service. The problems I had this time were dealt with quickly and efficiently and I think I'd put them down to the fact that it was the Christmas/New Year period and it won't put me off staying again.

A Maidstone miscellany - with answers
Advantages: A practical, pleasant and prosperous town
Disadvantages: But short on character and maybe even charm
...the West End or Broadway. The Hazlitt Theatre in the town centre is well-appointed and stages a varied programme of plays, panto, music, comedy turns and similar fare. Some shows are allocated to the adjacent Exchange, which makes up for the Hazlitt's relative sophistication with very basic decor and seats that are literally a pain in the backside. Unfortunately, it's also where The Maidstone Film Society holds its meetings and screenings. I have never experienced the Comedy Club on Union Street, but reports do not lead me to believe I've missed anything.
A new purpose-built multiplex Odeon cinema has replaced the old town centre fleapit, which had much more character. However, the multiplex is technically superior, comfortable and shows all the latest releases, if not much else.
Night life is provided by numerous restaurants...

Come to Sunny Maidstone
Advantages: Plenty to do
Disadvantages: No football stadium yet
...only problem has been their accents as they do have very local accents which are similar to Eastenders and they were judged as bimbo's on the strength of this and their blonde locks.
Nightlife
We have a thriving night life for younger Maidstonians and Kent folk. On the average Friday and Saturday night, 10,000 extra people cram into Maidstone and most of these are below the age of 25. This is because Maidstone is veritable Mecca for young people, and they are drawn out of their villages and from the Medway towns as we have nightclubs for everyone. Maidstone always had a good selection of pubs and clubs for younger residents, but in the past five years a new development has been built called the Lockmeadow Centre. This includes a Jumping Jaks, Ikon, Atomics ( well, nearby)(Boy George was DJ'ing for years, not sure if he still...

Maidstone Review
Advantages: Great Clubs/Pubs/Bars/Restaurants/Shops
Disadvantages: A slight attitude problem with local youths.
...LIFE:-
When darkness falls on Maidstone the town stays as active and as busy as it is during the day. At the top of end of town you have your bars and civilised bar/clubs to visit and down the bottom end of town you have the Odeon complex which consists of 2 Night Clubs, a Cinema, HotShots, which is like a bar/club with pool tables etc, used mainly as a meeting point before you hit the clubs, 4 restaurants and a Burger King so plenty to do in there! Also has a massive car park at the back of the complex, a train station and a taxi rank nearby. Kebab shops and burger vans are also very close as you stumble out the clubs at 3am..!!
There are plans to build a football stadium for Maidstone United on the edge of the town centre but being a Gillingham fan i wont touch too much on that as you might aswell watch us 10 miles down the road...

Maidstone called and they came
Advantages: Fun day out
Disadvantages: It has to end
...***** In the beginning *****
The idea of a Maidstone Mini Meet was muted whilst Torr Duncan and I (orlando) were sitting at a bench outside of a London pub having missed our train home, and with an hour till the next one, after the London meet. We have had some ad hoc mini meets before, which have always been well received, although they have been held in Canterbury which has a lot more to offer than our town. However, a previous Maidstone meet did manage to be very well attended, so we thought we could give it another go. Various dates were offered, and pre Christmas became a non-starter as we hadn't got our act together in time.
Duncan and I each put out a review of our intention, and asked for feedback on dates. Despite some members not being able to make the 27th January, it did become the majority vote, and so we...

Luncheon in Maidstone AKA Mexico
Advantages: Delish food, great lunch menu, good atmosphere
Disadvantages: a little cramped
...When I go to shopping with mum, we like to treat ourselves to a nice lunch and when we go to Maidstone, we just can’t resist going to Mexxa Mexxa every single time. I went last week with ma and yesterday with my boyfriend. This review is mainly about lunches at Mexxa Mexxa as I have never been to the restaurant in the evening.
Mexxa Mexxa is a Mexican (quelle surprise) restaurant in Earl Street, Maidstone, just around the back of the new Fremlin Walk shopping development. It is a bright building, you can’t miss it, decorated outside in blue and orange- a couple of doors down from Pizza Express and opposite Nando’s. The inside is decorated with dark wood, tiled floors and skinny waitresses. All of the seating is downstairs and the waiting staff bring the food down from the kitchen upstairs, so perhaps the constant...

Maidstone-The County Town of Kent
Advantages: Good location. Prosperous. Fairly clean
Disadvantages: Lacks night life, a bit expensive.
...Maidstone,one of the larger towns in Kent,is actually the County Town. Somehow it seems to be less well known than several other places in the county such as Dover, Canterbury or Gillingham. It is essentially a prosperous place and is only around 40 miles from London.
The shopping scene in the county town is a good one and most of the well known multiples are represented here, and there are a number of good specialist shops. There are several high quality hotels in the town or on the outskirts as well as guest houses and bed and breakfast establishments.
There are some very good eateries in Maidstone, including ethnic restaurants, and where I would give it very high marks are for its pubs both those in the town centre and at outlying spots such as Bearsted, Allington Lock and Harrietsham. It really does have some gems.
Maidstone is not...

Milling aroung Maidstone
Advantages: Not far to walk most places
Disadvantages: Taxis expensive
...This is a pretty hard review to do as it depends where you want to go! It is also not going to be of a lot of interest to a lot of people. So bear with me please!
I actually live in Medway as do a lot of people who go to Maidstone, particularly on a night out. Then again Maidstone attacts a lot of Kentish people from all over as it has a lot of pubs/clubs compared to other areas in Kent.
Getting there: When I go to Maidstone on a night out I tend to get the bus! I feel a bit stupid all dressed up in my glad rags but after 7 o'clock Arriva do a "happy hour" where you can go anywhere for a pound. The bus service is very good and frequent and most buses take you to the Chequers centre (shopping centre) which is right in the middle of Maidstone and next to the highstreet (where it all happens!) For further info on buses depending...

Club Penguin Elite Penguin Force DS Game - Virtual penguin world
Advantages: Upload coins to your club penguin website account
Disadvantages: Once you have completed it. thats it.
...The game is pretty basic, with good colouring throughout, but it has a nice style and the simplicity works well for the target age group. There is a certain amount of vagueness that potentially makes the game more difficult. If a player gets stuck there isn't a lot in the game that says what to do next. There is a lot of reading through speach bubbles between the penguins, though the reading level is very basic.
Adventure games rely heavily on the story and writing, and in Club Penguin the writing is actually pretty good. There's a lot of humor and charm with the characters of the Elite Penguin Force, and the story is very kid-friendly, but manages to be fairly action packed. The game very linear, but the over a dozen missions offer a fairly lengthy gaming experience.
During the adventure the player will participate in a number...

They're going to make you love working out!!
Advantages: great equipment and staff
Disadvantages: quite expensive
...When I moved to Maidstone, with my boyfriend, we decided that we would work out, for a change!! It took us 3 month to actually look for a gym, but we did it!
We chose David Lloyds first because it was the closest gym from our house, and since January we didn?t change.
----------------Facilities----------------
-Gym
Well, they have all the state of the art machines!
For cardio or resistance training, they have everything you can expect from a gym club, as well as free weight training.
And they seem to change the machines quite regularly, as they have just changed them whereas they were still in good condition.
Special areas for stretching, for floor work and abdominal exercising.
TVs are everywhere in the gym area for different channels (you can have ear phones to listen to the programs), and one huge screen...
