...Lagotel Hotel- Alcudia, Majorca Flight 2 hours from Cardiff to Palma, with first choice passed by quickly thank-goodness not a flyer! Transfer This took approx 50 minutes. Resort On arrival check-in was efficient and staff polite but a little stern looking. The hotel is outside Alcudia in Playa De Muro but the buses are regular and cheap to the strip. The hotel as a courtesy bus to the beach, which is lovely, shallow and white sand and ample sun beds and umbrellas. Hotel On arrival check-in was efficient and staff polite but a little stern looking. Lobby was quite spacious with ample seating and also Internet facilities, with Reps desks at the end. Off the lobby was a large bar with satellite TV and games machines for the children to waste their money on. This is also where they held the entertainment in the evening...

Heaven in Majorca

Advantages: Quiet location, lovely hotel, brilliant food, private beach.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive and could be a bit quiet.

...the towns of Magaluf and Palma are a short bus/taxi ride away, the cultural town of Santa Ponsa is just 10 minutes away and there's also large golf courses nearby. Prices at the hotel range from £75 to £100 a night for 2 adults sharing a room during the summer months. We booked through Sovereign Premium Holidays (www.sovereign.com) and it cost us £2700 for the 4 of us, flights included, for a weeks all inclusive stay at the Riu Palace Bonanza Playa. Prices start at £629 for one person staying on a half board basis for 2006 summer season and at £739 for the all inclusive option. I had a lovely time staying in Majorca, we visited in July 2005 so the temperatures were fairly high and we were lucky enough to have sunshine every single day. Good value clean hotel

Advantages: Great value, clean, great helpful staff.
Disadvantages: Rear facing rooms are small, food was adequate but not exciting.

Initial Impressions If you have airport transfers then you'll have no problems - if you are driving then finding the hotel can be interesting since none of the maps on the net seem to show it's location well. Is it a Hotel? yes! Is it the Can pastilla? No!

Advantages: Quiet
Disadvantages: Intermittent hot water, ants! Quiet! very small rooms.

We really enjoyed our time on the beach, and we love sitting outside Spanish cafés watching the world go by while we eat (and some fine food we had too) but not for every meal for a week. We took a late booking and for the money we had a lovely time, the sea was warm and calm, the weather was almost perfect, the food was good, the people we chatted to were nice, but I felt a little cheated about the accommodation. ...I have just got back from a weeks holiday in Majorca. Where, as you may have guessed, I stayed in the Hotel Samoa. The room itself is very average. It was medium sized with a double bed, wardrobe, television and a bathroom. The bed was a bit unusual - it was actually two normal beds pushed together. This was somewhat alarming on the first night when me and my boyfriend repeatedly rolled into the middle and had it collapse underneath us. Yes, it doesn't just fall apart slowly - if you go near the middle and dumps you on the floor, which is horrifying the first time! The bed covers feel somewhat like shower curtains, but once you get used to them and train your body to stay on one side it's fine. The TV is free, you can pay for a remote but really you can do it by yourself by getting up easily enough. It has two english channels...

...We visted the Hotel Armadams for our honeymoon back in October 2006 for a short break to take in the sights and sounds of Palma. It is situated one "block" away from the main promenade in Palma, a road lined on one side with bars, hotels, shops and the marina and harbour area on the other. I am not a great Spanish speaker, infact I know only the most basic of phrases to muddle through, but the staff were very understanding and very helpful, even though we weren't checking in until really late following a delayed flight. ...I have been to this hotel twice now and I can't wait to go again. Mainly so that my five year old daughter will stop asking me when we are going back! If you have children of any age, they will love this hotel, and you will just as much. The Condesa de la Bahia in the Majorcan resort of Alcudia and is situated right on the beach. It is situated down a quiet street that runs adjacent to the main road that would take you to the Port of Alcudia. It has around three hundred rooms that are decorated to a standard you would expect to find in a 3* hotel and they are kept spotless. ...I have been to Majorca twice in the last three years. On the first occasion, I went with my husband and our two children who were 4 and 2 at the time. We chose Majorca because of the relatively short flight time of two hours. We stayed in Alcudia at the Marte Hotel which is in an all inclusive complex which also includes the hotels Jupiter and Saturno. We went in the second and third weeks of May. The first week was very unsettled, rainy and windy, but the second week was beautiful and the temperature got warmer by the day. The resort of Alcudia is very busy but geared more for families rather than singles. The beach is sandy and very clean. ...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too. Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly. My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern. I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower. The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close. The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...
