Magaluf, Majorca a great fun holiday

Advantages: Lots to do, BCMs, Pirates
Disadvantages: Food can be expensive

...This holiday was my first without my parents in July 2006. I was with my boyfriend and we were staying in the Majorca Beach Hotel in Magaluf. 1.The Hotel - Majorca Beach Hotel Plain from outside, but rooms were of a good standard. We were self-catering, so didn't experience the food but we were told my other holiday makers it was good. The hotel was in a good location, near enough to the strip that you could stumble home, but far enough away so that you could get some sleep! Right next to the beach too! There were two pools, an adults and kids pool. Very cold and lovely in the sun but boring and square and quite deep. The hotel 'apparently' made sure no one reserved sun loungers near the pool, but every morning nearly all the sun loungers were taken, so best bet was to get up early and stick a towel on a couple. Heaven in Majorca

Advantages: Quiet location, lovely hotel, brilliant food, private beach.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive and could be a bit quiet.

...on the island is that of Euros. Our hotel was located in the town of Illetas (to the west of the island) which is advertised as one of the most exclusive resorts on the island. It took about 20 minutes to get to from the airport by taxi and on the numerous occasions we visited Palma the taxi took a mere 15 minutes. The town itself is in stark contrast to the neighbouring resorts of Magaluf and Palma, it's calm and tranquil. This is due to it still being relatively undiscovered by most holidaymakers. Apparently the hotel staff informed us that it's often compared to Monte Carlo and Marbella, offering holidays to a similar clientele. For those of you wanting to experience the shopping boutiques or nightlife of Majorca there's a bus service running every half hour from just opposite the hotel to the capital city. Advantages: Nice sweet film, romantic comedy
Disadvantages: Not the best romantic comedy I have seen, some may find it too sickly sweet!

Majorca the Magnificent

Advantages: Short flight, English widely spoken, beautiful beaches, great nightlife, I could go on forever
Disadvantages: You have to come home

...I have been to Majorca twice in the last three years. On the first occasion, I went with my husband and our two children who were 4 and 2 at the time. We chose Majorca because of the relatively short flight time of two hours. We stayed in Alcudia at the Marte Hotel which is in an all inclusive complex which also includes the hotels Jupiter and Saturno. We went in the second and third weeks of May. The first week was very unsettled, rainy and windy, but the second week was beautiful and the temperature got warmer by the day. The resort of Alcudia is very busy but geared more for families rather than singles. The beach is sandy and very clean. The Holiday - a good chick flick

Advantages: Lighthearted, good cast
Disadvantages: Predictable

...The Holiday is a chick flick type film although it is not quite your normal chick flick. It is based around the story of two girls , Amanda, played by Cameron Diaz and Iris played by Kate Winslet. ...The Holiday- I tried to get to see his at the cinema but i unfortunately missed out. Although after reading the reviews it was a mixed opinion, so as soon as it came out i purchased it so that i could judge for myself and its a great film. With Kate Winslet, Jack Black, Jude Law and Cameron Diaz it was an all star cast and a hopeless romantic film a definate chich flick. ...We, as a family with two young children, had a lovely holiday at this hotel. Location The hotel is situated in the pleasant seaside resort of Alcudia in Mallorca. The transfer time from the airport is about 1½ hours by coach. This was just about the maximum time for our kids. However, this ride could well be the closest you see of real Spain on your holiday. In Alcudia itself, this hotel is located close to the shops and the beach. Most of the shops close by are souvenir shops but there is also a general store. There are also some bars with arcade games and sit-in pay-and-ride toys. It is only a short walk away from a clean, wide sandy beach. However you do need to cross a main road. Resort On arrival check-in was efficient and staff polite but a little stern looking. The hotel is outside Alcudia in Playa De Muro but the buses are regular and cheap to the strip. The hotel as a courtesy bus to the beach, which is lovely, shallow and white sand and ample sun beds and umbrellas. Great holiday at the Sol Trinidad

...We went on holiday to Majorca for 10 days in July and stayed at the Sol Trinidad hotel in Magaluf. We have been to Magaluf in the past and stayed at a Sol hotel which we really liked and so decided to give this one a go. We booked it off teletext and stayed half-board. The hotel has 375 rooms spread over 9 floors, we had a pool view room on the forth floor which was quite handy as the two (very small!) lifts were out of action a few times and I was grateful for only having to climb four flights of stairs. It is situated a 2 minute walk across the road to the beach, and the road along the front of the hotel has lots of shops (clothes, souvenirs, booze, fags etc) and the road behind mainly bars and BCM the major nightclub where Radio 1 were doing there live weekend while we were there.
