...Lagotel Hotel- Alcudia, Majorca Flight 2 hours from Cardiff to Palma, with first choice passed by quickly thank-goodness not a flyer! Transfer This took approx 50 minutes. Resort On arrival check-in was efficient and staff polite but a little stern looking. The hotel is outside Alcudia in Playa De Muro but the buses are regular and cheap to the strip. The hotel as a courtesy bus to the beach, which is lovely, shallow and white sand and ample sun beds and umbrellas. Heaven in Majorca

Advantages: Quiet location, lovely hotel, brilliant food, private beach.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive and could be a bit quiet.

Good value clean hotel

Advantages: Great value, clean, great helpful staff.
Disadvantages: Rear facing rooms are small, food was adequate but not exciting.

Advantages: Quiet

We took a taxi, to Can Pastilla, and asked to be dropped at the entrance to the Hotel Can Pastilla where we had booked a self catering apartment for the first week of June 2006. ...I have just got back from a weeks holiday in Majorca. Where, as you may have guessed, I stayed in the Hotel Samoa. The room itself is very average. It was medium sized with a double bed, wardrobe, television and a bathroom. The bed was a bit unusual - it was actually two normal beds pushed together. This was somewhat alarming on the first night when me and my boyfriend repeatedly rolled into the middle and had it collapse underneath us. Yes, it doesn't just fall apart slowly - if you go near the middle and dumps you on the floor, which is horrifying the first time! The bed covers feel somewhat like shower curtains, but once you get used to them and train your body to stay on one side it's fine. The TV is free, you can pay for a remote but really you can do it by yourself by getting up easily enough. It has two english channels...

...We visted the Hotel Armadams for our honeymoon back in October 2006 for a short break to take in the sights and sounds of Palma. It is situated one "block" away from the main promenade in Palma, a road lined on one side with bars, hotels, shops and the marina and harbour area on the other. I am not a great Spanish speaker, infact I know only the most basic of phrases to muddle through, but the staff were very understanding and very helpful, even though we weren't checking in until really late following a delayed flight. ...I have been to this hotel twice now and I can't wait to go again. Mainly so that my five year old daughter will stop asking me when we are going back! If you have children of any age, they will love this hotel, and you will just as much. The Condesa de la Bahia in the Majorcan resort of Alcudia and is situated right on the beach. It is situated down a quiet street that runs adjacent to the main road that would take you to the Port of Alcudia. ...I have been to Majorca twice in the last three years. On the first occasion, I went with my husband and our two children who were 4 and 2 at the time. We chose Majorca because of the relatively short flight time of two hours. We stayed in Alcudia at the Marte Hotel which is in an all inclusive complex which also includes the hotels Jupiter and Saturno. We went in the second and third weeks of May. The first week was very unsettled, rainy and windy, but the second week was beautiful and the temperature got warmer by the day. The resort of Alcudia is very busy but geared more for families rather than singles. The beach is sandy and very clean. ...NO AIR CONDITIONING - A huge negative to this hotel, is that there is no air conditioning in the rooms. The heat is stifling - so it is very uncomfortable to sleep in. . .some take to sleeping on the balconies at night - yeah - dragging their mattresses outside. There are ceiling fans in the rooms, but they are in-efficient. It helps to keep your curtain drawn when you go out - but it is still too hot and uncomfortable to go up to your room - even if you want to go up for an afternoon snooze. LIFTS - There are 9 floors but and only three lifts but the lifts are very small - maybe 8 or 9 people max (and it won't move if you are over loaded !! ENTERTAINMENT - This is a matter of opinion.
