...Lagotel Hotel- Alcudia, Majorca Flight 2 hours from Cardiff to Palma, with first choice passed by quickly thank-goodness not a flyer! Transfer This took approx 50 minutes. Resort On arrival check-in was efficient and staff polite but a little stern looking. The hotel is outside Alcudia in Playa De Muro but the buses are regular and cheap to the strip. The hotel as a courtesy bus to the beach, which is lovely, shallow and white sand and ample sun beds and umbrellas. Hotel On arrival check-in was efficient and staff polite but a little stern looking. Lobby was quite spacious with ample seating and also Internet facilities, with Reps desks at the end. Off the lobby was a large bar with satellite TV and games machines for the children to waste their money on. This is also where they held the entertainment in the evening...

Heaven in Majorca

Advantages: Quiet location, lovely hotel, brilliant food, private beach.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive and could be a bit quiet.

Advantages: Well presented, friendly, welcoming, modern

...We visted the Hotel Armadams for our honeymoon back in October 2006 for a short break to take in the sights and sounds of Palma. It is situated one "block" away from the main promenade in Palma, a road lined on one side with bars, hotels, shops and the marina and harbour area on the other. I am not a great Spanish speaker, infact I know only the most basic of phrases to muddle through, but the staff were very understanding and very helpful, even though we weren't checking in until really late following a delayed flight. The room was exceptional. Clean crisp tiled floors beautufully airy which really made a good first impression. Playa de San Juan - An excellent hotel

...We chose to visit the Holiday Inn Alicante Playa de San Juan for a week in July after having three very pleasant stays in Express by Holiday Inns in the UK. We were not sure what to expect in terms of quality, however it was probably one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in. The cost was ?94 per night for an en suite room with king size bed and an ?almost double? sofa bed. The room was on the third floor of the hotel and had a view of another apartment block to the rear of the hotel. However, this did not cause any problems as the apartments were quite a distance from the hotel, therefore not blocking the panoramic view. Is it a Hotel? yes! Is it the Can pastilla? No!

Advantages: Quiet
Disadvantages: Intermittent hot water, ants! Quiet! very small rooms.

(although this may not look as if it is connected to the review it is) We got up at some unearthly time of the morning, drove to Gatwick, flew on a prompt, clean plane, landed in Majorca, everything was going so smoothly. We took a taxi, to Can Pastilla, and asked to be dropped at the entrance to the Hotel Can Pastilla where we had booked a self catering apartment for the first week of June 2006. Our first thought was the taxi must have dropped us off at the back of the hotel, so we lugged out cases round the block to the front, or so we thought, the front looked more like the back than what we thought the back was. So we picked up our cases once again and went round the only side that we hadn't yet seen. Then we went round the front again. Alcudia - Playa de Muro and the Port of Alcudia

Advantages: Beautiful beaches, resorts for all ages!
Disadvantages: Can't think of any!

...What can I say! Mallorca has many beautiful resorts that cater for all different tastes and age groups. We have two children aged 7 and 14 and have always found Alcudia to be the best to suit their needs as well as ours. Alcudia is North of the Island and stretches along a long coastal road. At one end is the busy Port of Alcudia (the main area) and the other end of the road (about 3-4 stops on the local bus) is the area known as Playa de Muro or Las Gaviotas. The first time we went to Alcudia we stayed in the busy Port area where all the action is. We stayed at the Lagoon Centre apartments which were clean and really nice. Friendly staff. Our children were aged 2 and 9 at the time and although there wasn't that much for a 2 year old there was plenty for the 9 year old. There are numerous bars in the Port area and it...

Hotel Samoa - Calas De Mallorca

...I have just got back from a weeks holiday in Majorca. Where, as you may have guessed, I stayed in the Hotel Samoa. The room itself is very average. It was medium sized with a double bed, wardrobe, television and a bathroom. The bed was a bit unusual - it was actually two normal beds pushed together. This was somewhat alarming on the first night when me and my boyfriend repeatedly rolled into the middle and had it collapse underneath us. Yes, it doesn't just fall apart slowly - if you go near the middle and dumps you on the floor, which is horrifying the first time! The bed covers feel somewhat like shower curtains, but once you get used to them and train your body to stay on one side it's fine. The TV is free, you can pay for a remote but really you can do it by yourself by getting up easily enough. It has two english channels...

...I have been to this hotel twice now and I can't wait to go again. Mainly so that my five year old daughter will stop asking me when we are going back! If you have children of any age, they will love this hotel, and you will just as much. The Condesa de la Bahia in the Majorcan resort of Alcudia and is situated right on the beach. It is situated down a quiet street that runs adjacent to the main road that would take you to the Port of Alcudia. It has around three hundred rooms that are decorated to a standard you would expect to find in a 3* hotel and they are kept spotless. It has a large pool area that is split into three different sections, a children's pool, a long horse shoe shaped area and a pool that gently slopes just like a beach. Advantages: Fantastic rooms, friendly staff, great location
Disadvantages: some of the other guests seem to think their a bit special!

...be booked over the hotel groups website, by calling a central reservations number, by calling the hotel directly and most likely through your locale travel agents alothough i wouldn't recommend this as it will work out much more expensive that contacting the hotel directly. I would definatly recommend a visit to this hotel especially for a special occassion, the staff are always friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile, for example several times they've made food for me not on the menu just because i enquired as to whether they did do it or not. Also if you have an american express card you can often get deals on buy one get one night free in de vere hotels, and sometimes a free upgrade (the reason i got junior suites both time!)...
