Malaga, nice but they still kill bulls...

Advantages: Shops etc open late, Beautiful Beach, Amazing Cathedral.
Disadvantages: Noisy, dirty, has Bull Ring.

...I've not even been back a week, but feels like months ago that I went to Malaga. Back in the cold and gloom! I have never been to Spain before, and the decission was partly due to availability. I was waiting on the return of my Passport from Passport House, and so no holiday could be booked until then. I booked online at about midnight on 11/01/03, and we flew out at 6.25am on 12/01/03. So no time to buy phrase book, or learn any lingo! This was our downfall. If I advise anything, it's take a phrase book. On our return a friend kindly told me that you will deffinately have more fun out there if you can speak some Spanish. (Thanks, that's real helpful now!) Once out there, we could not find any Phrase Books, and did not even find a Guide Book in English until our third day! I felt held back by this, and would deffinately want...

Review of Málaga (Spain)

Malaga - Torremolinos.

Advantages: shopping
Disadvantages: nightlife

...I went to malaga in 2007, I wasn't impressed at all, personally I think this may stem from the hotel and if you haven't got a good place to stay, it usually would hinder the holiday experience. Although, saying this there were a few good aspects of the holiday, the beach was lovely, plenty of sunloungers with comfortable cushions which we had to pay a small fee for for the whole day. The route to the beach wasnt very good there were steep hills and a lot of steps which could be a problem for a lot of people - there is a lift though. Another good point was the shops, they were open very late and when i was there, there were lots of sales on in good shops, Malaga has good shops like zara. A bad point in my opinion was the entertainment, we went at peak season and there wasnt a lot to do, and not much going on for families. The eating...

Beautiful Malaga

Advantages: Fantastic weather, lovely views, Amazing holiday
Disadvantages: Dirty, alot of constuction work

...I go to Malaga about 2 times a year as my partners father lives over there. This is the first and only place that i have been abroad so my review is only based on this country as i have not been to any others apart from england of corse!!! The weather is amazing but obiviously it depends where you are as my partners parents live up a mountain!! so it mostly really hot but it can also be cloudy!! I haven't been out there yet when it hasn't been cloudy. But the weather is completly different to England its not humid or hard to breath!! Its just fantastic warm weather!! If you haven't been abroad before the experience is amazing, the veiws are unbeleivable mountains everywhere! clear blue seas and its just amazing how they build villages just about anywhere!!! It really is something you have to see for yourself its hard to...

Torrox park, Costa del sol, Malaga

Advantages: quiet, pretty lanscapes, value for money, nice friendly people, relaxing, good amount of sunshine all year
Disadvantages: not a destination for everyone, need to know a little of the lingo, not very well developed area yet!

...The first visit to this area was last september 2003. Both my husband and myself fell in love with the area. Although it is not a holiday for everyone. It will be a up and coming area of malaga in the future. We bought a 2 bed apartment in april 2004 on the urbanization torrox park for 117,000 euro as we were impressed by the area and the quality of the building work that was being undertaken on the site. The site itself has a main pizza eating place which is great value for money and the t-bone steak is a must for meat eaters. There are several small shops which sell everything from food to beach wear. On the site is also a camping area for tents, caravans, and log cabins. This has excellent facilities which include a clubhouse serving food and drinks, Internet connection, sky tv, pool table and they also serve sunday lunch...

*** The Ace Malaga Palace? ***

Advantages: Location, comfort & views.
Disadvantages: Businesslike and few English speaking staff.

...We were outside work in the car park, three of us enjoying the fresh air and sunshine and Angry Man kicking the wall and smoking a cigarette. "Malaga" he said authoritatively "is a dump." This was a view I was to hear echoed from the minute I booked the flight to Malaga and decided to stop overnight before we travelled further into Spain, right up to getting the train from Malaga Airport. Even as a kindly English lady helped us work the ticket machine, our decision was under question. I am pleased to report that Malaga is not that bad. In fact (and I'm not saying this to be contrary) - I like it! This was helped in part by our rather well located hotel. The train journey in from the Airport twists through slum like flats, but somehow, these look better than the approach to Paddington in the rain and the 2 euro journey was the start...

A beautifull walk near San Jose Spain

Advantages: Beautiful
Disadvantages: you really need a car

...A pretty cove and a beautiful walk near San José Spain We went on holiday to San José in Almeria Spain this Easter hols. This is a description of one of the best bays/beaches we found and a good coastal walk. We used the tourist hiking map Capo de Gata-Nijar (1:50.000 same scale as an standard OS map here) which we bought from the tourist information in San José, it comes with an accompanying book about the routes marked on the map. It also contained information about camping, apartments and other local information in Spanish. Dearly beloved can read some Spanish and I found I could follow a lot of the instructions fairly simply, you may be able to get an English copy. I will check this out .We found this a very good map and guide I would certainly recommend it. One morning we set out in our hire car, with a loaf of bread, some...

El Corte Ingles Store Restaurant, Malaga

Advantages: Very convenient when shopping
Disadvantages: Not exactly a scenic location but that is not why its there.

...was just too delicious. I wouldn't have gone there if we hadn't been on a shopping trip, but I would definitely go back to any Corte Ingles restaurant for the same reason, convenience, even though it was competitively priced (Much cheaper than England of course) However Malaga has a surfeit of good eating places and I would definitely not go there specifically to eat at night with so many more attractive venues available and all at very fair prices. The Spanish demand a high standard for their food and you get it here. This certainly is way above what you would get in any British supermarket "caff" and a welcome and relaxing break from shopping, even if you are in El Corte Ingles. By the way most shops in Spain have their sales in January and February and what you can save here would more than pay for your meal. Also...

Diamond review  A taste of Spain

Advantages: Nice weather, pretty cheap
Disadvantages: Almost like being home because of a large Norwegian community

...A short summary My wife Nikki and I went on a trip to Albir right north of Benidorm in Spain in the period August 27th to September 5th 2004. We went together with our friends Olav and Allis and their two kids. During our stay we got a chance to drive around a little bit, visit the theme park Terra Mittica, the water park Aqualandia, drink some good Spanish red wine etc. I hope that this short trip report can be of some use to others that are going to the same destination. Get in touch if you have any questions or comments :-) Please check my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com if you want to see more pictures from the trip. Prelude When I was young I remember that we had some family friends that were going on vacation to Spain. At that time it seemed so exotic at least compared to our road trips around Norway. Well, over the years...

Barcelona Spain Catalonia

Advantages: Lot to do and see, coastline of beaches, and lots of good shops to the expensive to the cheap.
Disadvantages: metro underground gets busy in the paek seasons, but all places have easy access and are walkable

...Barcelona? Why Not ? One of the most beautiful cities in Europe Barcelona Spain is one of the biggest influences that has ever been met, there is everything that you could desire there, from a walk to the park to the beaches to the night life the Music festivals, the Tapas, the coast and the shops, it is endless, Barcelona is a place of opportunity with its beautiful buildings and history, a short stay would never be enough to cover all there are numbers of attractions, The main street La Rambla is amazing with its flower stalls which give the la rambla a gorgeous array of color and .flavor There are pet stalls with baby rabbits, turtles , terrapins, birds and all childrens furry friends, with souvenir store's and high street shops on the road side restaurants are also on the la rambla where you can sit and watch all...

LOST IN SPAIN...

Advantages: BEAUTIFUL PLACE - UNSPOILED - TRANQUIL - CLIMATE
Disadvantages: SOMETIMES UNKEPT - NEEDS A BIT OF GOVERNMENT MONEY SPENDING ON IT!

...Well, I’m writing this on New Years Eve, in the office, but totally bored as none of my customers are in their offices so I can’t phone them to chase them for their missing adverts…*sigh* Anyway, my thoughts turned to holidays, like they do at times like this!! In 2002 I went to Seville, Spain. I have traveled quite a bit but not really in Europe much so I didn’t know what to expect. Seville is a beautiful town – very unspoiled. If you’re looking for the ‘real Spain’ I suggest Seville and we went at an excellent time weatherwise – not too hot or cold. We spent 5 days there in May 2002, at the Hotel San Gil – this is a 4 star hotel, where most of the rooms are suites, sadly we had one of the very few double rooms there. They serve breakfast and ‘bar snacks...
