...Babies are expensive. We used to be under the naïve impression that babies are very small, so how much stuff could they need. After much aimless wandering around Mothercare and Mamas and Papas we realised the error of our ways, there seems to be no end to the stuff that babies need and this is before you get to the stuff that you want to buy that they could probably do without. MAMAS & PAPAS PLIKO PRAMETTE

Advantages: easy to use, lightweigh, smart looking

...When I found out I was pregnant I soon discovered that buying a pram/pushchair can be an absolute nightmare. There are so many on the market, doing different things and costing different amounts! i wanted one that would be lightweight, and take my baby right through to being a toddler. I also wanted one that would look like a proper pram, not just a carseat on wheels. Due to suffering from SPD in my pregnancy I was not up to mammoth shopping trips which made it even more difficult to choose one as I could not get out to see what they were like in the flesh. When flicking through the Argos catalogue (its no longer available in there), I came across the Mamas & Papas Pliko Pramette and fell in love with it immediately. ...I bought this pushchair after I had my youngest child for a number of reasons. It came with loads of extras which when bought seperatly can work out costing more than the pushchair, and it was very light, only weighing 5 kgs. This was a very important factor as I live in a block of flats on the third floor, and there is no lift. So I knew that I would have to carry it and a child up and down the stairs on a daily basis. It seems that this pushchair is exclusive to Argos, and dosen't seem to be even available in the Mamas and Papas stores, or even on-line. In hindsight, I suppose alarm bells should have been ringing. When I bought this, I paid £99.99, although the price has since dropped to £69.99. It also came with a 6 month manufacturer guarantee. ...i bought this pram when i had my first child. i liked the fact it could lay totally flat and face you for when they are unable to sit. i thought it was very stylish but must admit the main reason i bought it was because i knew mamas and papas was a good make! it is very versitile once you have attatched the wheels! i used this pram untill my son was 18 months then i changed for a quinny buzz because i needed something lighter and felt he looked too big in the pram. i really liked this pram the basket underneath hold alot of weight even though it looks flimsy and the fabric is hard wearing and dosen't get bleached by the sun like some do. the only thing about this pram is that after a while it does start to squeek when you are going around a corner which really bugged me and the handles, because they are height adjustable start to get...

...I am a self confessed pramaholic - but i have to say that this is one of my favourites!! It is lightweight and folds so compactly! It is great for small boots of public trasport. The shopping basket is HUGE! You can get loads in! The seat itself is nice and spacious and most importantly comfortable! The accessories that you can get are also great! Mamas and Papas are a well known brand and the aria is a great addition! When you first get it, it does take a bit of putting together - although this is only putting the wheels on! These can be taken off again if need be by squeezing the underneath of them (I sold one of the 2 that I had and got it back in the original box with the wheels successfully removed!) ...Buying a cot for your baby is another nailbiting experience as you only want the best for your baby, but may not have the money to buy the best. We decided on the Mamas & Papas Mamu Fizz Cotbed from Argos. We have pine furniture throughout our bungalow and wanted a pine cot, but could not find a nice one that we could afford. This Cotbed was classed as made from natural wood and is a nice colour and is very sturdy. We also wanted a Cotbed so that we could save some money, as this one will last to around 5 years of age. Of course, being from Mamas & Papas, it meets all current safety standards and came complete with mattress. It cost £154.79 from Argos. If you are looking for this at the moment you will find it at great prices, as they seem to be having a sale at the moment.
