Not for Mamas and Papas!

...I bought this pushchair after I had my youngest child for a number of reasons. It came with loads of extras which when bought seperatly can work out costing more than the pushchair, and it was very light, only weighing 5 kgs. This was a very important factor as I live in a block of flats on the third floor, and there is no lift. So I knew that I would have to carry it and a child up and down the stairs on a daily basis. It seems that this pushchair is exclusive to Argos, and dosen't seem to be even available in the Mamas and Papas stores, or even on-line. In hindsight, I suppose alarm bells should have been ringing. When I bought this, I paid £99.99, although the price has since dropped to £69.99. It also came with a 6 month manufacturer guarantee. For the mamas and papas amongst you

Advantages: great quality
Disadvantages: expensive

...Babies are expensive. We used to be under the naïve impression that babies are very small, so how much stuff could they need. After much aimless wandering around Mothercare and Mamas and Papas we realised the error of our ways, there seems to be no end to the stuff that babies need and this is before you get to the stuff that you want to buy that they could probably do without. ...When I found out I was pregnant I soon discovered that buying a pram/pushchair can be an absolute nightmare. There are so many on the market, doing different things and costing different amounts! i wanted one that would be lightweight, and take my baby right through to being a toddler. I also wanted one that would look like a proper pram, not just a carseat on wheels. ...I am a self confessed pramaholic - but i have to say that this is one of my favourites!! It is lightweight and folds so compactly! It is great for small boots of public trasport. The shopping basket is HUGE! You can get loads in! The seat itself is nice and spacious and most importantly comfortable! The accessories that you can get are also great! Mamas and Papas are a well known brand and the aria is a great addition! When you first get it, it does take a bit of putting together - although this is only putting the wheels on! These can be taken off again if need be by squeezing the underneath of them (I sold one of the 2 that I had and got it back in the original box with the wheels successfully removed!) ...When I was looking for a pram for my baby I discovered that most pushchairs could have carrycots put on to them. I thought was a good idea as it meant I did not have to buy a pushchair when they were too big for their pram. I liked the mamas and papas pilko pushchair for £190 and you could buy a carrycot (Navetta) to go with it at about £160. So it helped me to decide to the buy the pushchair as well and brought the carrycot to go with it at the same time. The carrycot comes in all the materials that the pushchair comes in which it can be attach to so it can match. In some respects the carrycot it is a good buy but I feel it was just a luxury I could have done without. ...Buying a cot for your baby is another nailbiting experience as you only want the best for your baby, but may not have the money to buy the best. We decided on the Mamas & Papas Mamu Fizz Cotbed from Argos. We have pine furniture throughout our bungalow and wanted a pine cot, but could not find a nice one that we could afford. This Cotbed was classed as made from natural wood and is a nice colour and is very sturdy. We also wanted a Cotbed so that we could save some money, as this one will last to around 5 years of age. Of course, being from Mamas & Papas, it meets all current safety standards and came complete with mattress. It cost £154.79 from Argos.
