I really needed to be refreshed on my arrival because it was a business trip so I decided to check into Bewleys Hotel the night before, I have on previous occasions driven from home to the airport and found it very tedious and stressful normally leaving me feeling like a washed up dish rag by the time I arrived at my destination. ***The Hotel*** It is situated about three minutes walk from terminal 3 but also provides a 24 hour shuttle service to all the terminals. Advantages: situation of car park adjacent to terminals

...We had arrived at the airport around 4.45 am the 13th july 2009 and to give credit the driver was waiting for us. We went over the usual details but before he left I made sure we went around the car so any damage could be noted on handover, being no damage to the car he handed me the card with the telephone number on and gave me instructions for our return. On returning we went to level 12 terminal 1 to meet the driver, there was also another family there. I noticed our car parked up and the other families car was parked next to ours in adjoining car bays but no driver around. About five minutes later the driver came through with our keys but said he had to go and get our tickets to get out the car park. This gave us time to get the luggage in the boot and get in the car. Manchester Airport Marriott Hotel

Advantages: Just of the M56 - convenient
Disadvantages: Just of the M56 - noisy

...I stayed here for one night last week on a business trip to Manchester. I'd stayed there several times before, but they've recently renovated some of the public areas to make a new "Executive Lounge" with computers and things. Not quite sure what you need to get in there though... The hotel is just off Junction 6 (Hale) of the M56 motorway, just 2 miles from Manchester Airport. and a 10 minute drive up the M56 to Manchester itself. This makes it quite popular for conferences and seminars, and there were a few going on there last week, one was "Effective decision making for non-executive directors of mutuals", that could have been interesting There's a complimentary shuttle to Manchester Airport and they also offer "Park & Fly" packages (around £8 per day, I think) so you can leave your car there while you jet off... My friend and I had booked a room (no. 321) for one night in the Manchester Airport Hotel for 11th August 2007 at the cost of 49 British pounds. Upon unpacking I noticed that of the two towels provided in the bathroom, the smaller one, showed a large very yellow stain running down the middle of it, the larger one was acceptably clean. One additional large towel could be located in the wardrobe. I rang reception and requested further towels from the young lady answering the phone. ...The Radisson hotel at Manchester Airport is probably one of the more well known as it has now been there for quite some time and unlike a lot of others around the Airport, hasn't been bought out over the years and renamed. My intention was to write a letter of complaint following the disastrous service we received when we arrived at Manchester Airport on the 9th August only to wait 30 minutes for the driver to come and collect the vehicle (which meant that we almost missed our flight) and to be told by your customer services operative that you were over booked and we just have to wait, however, my letter is now of a more serious nature which requires immediate attention. Thanks to engineering works on the line at some point between here (Sheffield) and Manchester, the railway option wasn't open to me for my weekend away. Firstly this posed two problems: one) I'd have to drive because my love affair with coach services ended some three years ago when, as a student, a National Express (spit, curse, spit) driver completely missed my stop and proceeded to blame me for him missing it. ...Now, how on earth do I write an interesting opinion about an airport? I'll give it a go. We went to Tenerife with JMC in February from Manchester airport. My parents were flying out a week before us (lucky things) so I was persuaded to drive them up there to save money on the parking. The first thing that I will point out is that Manchester airport is brilliant to get to from the North or South (M6) but a nightmare from the East, such as Lincoln (tiny windy roads across the Penines where the hills just about killed my poor little car loaded up with parents and their luggage). Upon arrival at the airport (which was clearly signposted and therefore easy to find), we quickly found our way to the drop off point, and subsequently to the short term parking about four hours before the flight was due to leave.
