I really needed to be refreshed on my arrival because it was a business trip so I decided to check into Bewleys Hotel the night before, I have on previous occasions driven from home to the airport and found it very tedious and stressful normally leaving me feeling like a washed up dish rag by the time I arrived at my destination. ***The Hotel*** It is situated about three minutes walk from terminal 3 but also provides a 24 hour shuttle service to all the terminals. Advantages: situation of car park adjacent to terminals

...We had arrived at the airport around 4.45 am the 13th july 2009 and to give credit the driver was waiting for us. We went over the usual details but before he left I made sure we went around the car so any damage could be noted on handover, being no damage to the car he handed me the card with the telephone number on and gave me instructions for our return. On returning we went to level 12 terminal 1 to meet the driver, there was also another family there. I noticed our car parked up and the other families car was parked next to ours in adjoining car bays but no driver around. About five minutes later the driver came through with our keys but said he had to go and get our tickets to get out the car park. This gave us time to get the luggage in the boot and get in the car. Manchester Airport Marriott Hotel

Advantages: Just of the M56 - convenient
Disadvantages: Just of the M56 - noisy

...I stayed here for one night last week on a business trip to Manchester. I'd stayed there several times before, but they've recently renovated some of the public areas to make a new "Executive Lounge" with computers and things. Not quite sure what you need to get in there though... The hotel is just off Junction 6 (Hale) of the M56 motorway, just 2 miles from Manchester Airport. and a 10 minute drive up the M56 to Manchester itself. This makes it quite popular for conferences and seminars, and there were a few going on there last week, one was "Effective decision making for non-executive directors of mutuals", that could have been interesting There's a complimentary shuttle to Manchester Airport and they also offer "Park & Fly" packages (around £8 per day, I think) so you can leave your car there while you jet off... ...I would like to take this opportunity in sharing my experience in the Manchester Airport Hotel. My friend and I had booked a room (no. 321) for one night in the Manchester Airport Hotel for 11th August 2007 at the cost of 49 British pounds. Upon unpacking I noticed that of the two towels provided in the bathroom, the smaller one, showed a large very yellow stain running down the middle of it, the larger one was acceptably clean. One additional large towel could be located in the wardrobe. I rang reception and requested further towels from the young lady answering the phone. Within 2 minutes the night Manager rang back and suggested that I "look in the wardrobe". Having stated that I had indeed already done this, the "manager" started a debate with me. Great airport hotel

Advantages: Nice room and fab location
Disadvantages: can be pricey

..., the Radisson has the advantage as if it was pouring down with rain for example, you need not even go outside to reach any of the terminals at all as you can use the skylink that is connected to the hotel. This is a big bonus for the hotel! If you are looking for nightlife, you can reach Manchester city centre within 20 minutes by taxi and one of the other Airport hotels in the immediate vicinity has it's own nightclub - if you want it it is there!! The main train and bus station of Manchester Airport is literally across from the hotel and guests arriving from elsewhere to the Airport by these methods cannot fail to see the hotel and you can even walk from the station through the sky tunnel and into the hotel without even having to step outside! Overall this is a good choice for those guests that want convenience and a nice hotel at the same...

My intention was to write a letter of complaint following the disastrous service we received when we arrived at Manchester Airport on the 9th August only to wait 30 minutes for the driver to come and collect the vehicle (which meant that we almost missed our flight) and to be told by your customer services operative that you were over booked and we just have to wait, however, my letter is now of a more serious nature which requires immediate attention. On returning from holiday on the 16th August at 1.00am, I called the number given to request that the driver brings the car to the terminal. My wife and I waited for about 25 minutes again after we had made the call. A sign appears : Terminal One is domestic flights...ok.....therefore, it must be 2 or 3. No further signs, so we take a chance on Three. I quickly leg it out to the terminal, spot a JMC service desk, run back to the car shouting 'let's go guys!!'. We all unpack, and the fathers speed off to Terminal 3 parking. ...Now, how on earth do I write an interesting opinion about an airport? I'll give it a go. We went to Tenerife with JMC in February from Manchester airport. My parents were flying out a week before us (lucky things) so I was persuaded to drive them up there to save money on the parking. The first thing that I will point out is that Manchester airport is brilliant to get to from the North or South (M6) but a nightmare from the East, such as Lincoln (tiny windy roads across the Penines where the hills just about killed my poor little car loaded up with parents and their luggage). Upon arrival at the airport (which was clearly signposted and therefore easy to find), we quickly found our way to the drop off point, and subsequently to the short term parking about four hours before the flight was due to leave.
