I have just returned from a hen weekend in Manchester, and I don't think I can ever drink again. However, through the haze of an Easter weekend full of laughs, late nights, food and drink, I think I can recall enough about this establishment to give you a decent insight in to staying in apartments in the city. While looking for a venue for my hen's last weekend of freedom on the internet (if you have read any of my other reviews you will see the organization side of things often falls to me when it comes to hen weekends!) Northern Quarter for the Northern Birds

Advantages: Stunning apartments, very clean, good price, very central
Disadvantages: Nothing!

...I love Manchester, and used to go quite regularly. Unfortunately money is tight so I don't get as many nights out down there as I used. When I do get down, I like to make the most of it. Last time I was in Manchester, we stayed at The Northern Quarter Apartments. The Northern Quarter The Northern Quarter of Manchester consists of High Street and the 'original Northern Quarter' on Oldham Street, which is slightly North of the Arndale Centre and Piccadilly Gardens in the centre of Manchester. There are loads of funky little boutique shops, which are amazing for vintage clothes. There are plenty of coffee shops ( the one next to Pop is quite relaxed and cool) and small sandwiches shops and eateries. Apartment smelled of drains

Advantages: Nice pool, pleasanr helpful staff, appartment very clean
Disadvantages: Bathroom stunk of drains, kitchen antiquated, no kettle, toaster or hairdryer

SUNSHINE MAKES EVERYTHING LOOK GOOD: We made our way up to the pool area and were pleasantly surprised by a couple of big pools, lots of sun loungers and umbrellas, a couple of quiet bars and a restaurant. It all looked quiet, sunny and inviting. We sat down and enjoyed an iced tea and toasted sandwiches. We had been up since 2am and I had only had a cup of coffee and water so I was quite hungry by now. The waiter was lovely and the food was fine. Estella Hotel and Apartments Did NOT Disappoint!

Advantages: Excellent location, superb customer service levels and lovely rooms
Disadvantages: No real facilities for the disabled

...Estella Hotel Apartments is based in Limassol in Southern Cyprus where I stayed for 6 nights in late April/early May of 2009 with my cousin. The booking was made via Expedia.co.uk and worked out at approximately £200 for 2 of us sharing a twin apartment (just £100 each basically). Before I confirmed the booking through Expedia I went off and did a bit of research on the hotel to make sure I wasn?t getting something that was cockroach infested. Super hotel in the heart of Manchester

...I have had the pleasure of staying here on business on several occasions. My mother?s family come from Manchester so I always really enjoy visiting Manchester. About the hotel: The Arora Manchester is a four star hotel with over 140 bedrooms. It?s part owned by Cliff Richard and there are even five special Cliff bedrooms decorated with his memorabilia if you like that kind of thing! The location on Princess Street is also excellent as you are in the city centre and only 10 minutes walk from Piccadilly station if you arrive by train. Our Days in Manchester

Advantages: Clean, comfortable, good food, handy for the hospital
Disadvantages: We had one or two problems - see review

...*** To be fair, although the problems sound a lot, the room was a good size, comfortable (apart from the heat for which they couldn't be held responsible) and clean and the food was very good once you'd got it all! So as far as I am concerned this was OK in the end as the discount that we were given on check out was reasonable under the circumstances. If I ever go to Manchester again I would be prepared to give them a second chance....

So the search for a great hotel started. Every hotel was starting to look very similar to the next, until we stumbled upon "The Place Aparthotel". It offered a different concept in hotel stays, as what you actually stayed in were apartments instead of tiny hotel rooms. The fact that it was a converted warehouse made it even more appealing. So with more of our own space to enjoy we went for it. The Arrival It took us about two hours to get to our chosen hotel. ...As with my previous recent reviews this forms a part of my need to get a life ethos, and even though I live a short distance from Manchester on a planned night out on the town I decided it was better worth my time staying over than drunkely seeking the nightbus home. So armed with my trusty cashback paying link to a hotelbooking site I found this one for the night.
