...I went to the Manchester evening news arena to watch WWE rebellion this year (October 26th) although there were only the smackdown roster there (ill be writing about the WWE soon). First off this was my first time to a WWE event so I didn?t know what to expect. I have watched the wrestling show on TV so I did have an idea of what the set-up would be like. Word of advice it is absolutely nothing like TV!!!! Brief background of WWE production team, when you watch WWE on television the production team show you what they want you to see. The normal view is of the ring from the side which is the main view and occasionally the flick to a close up camera. Advantages: Local news, for local people
Disadvantages: It helps to have the life outlook of Genghis Khan

...Living in Edinburgh I guess it would be unfair of me not to show my support to the local newspaper. The Edinburgh Evening news is printed and distributed within the Lothian area. Covering a wide variety of subjects from home and abroad, with this paper you're always guaranteed to find something to read about. For the past 11 years now Edinburgh evening news has been printed in the standard tabloid size, meaning it is easier to fit in your shopping bag and more lower and middle class people are likely to buy it. Before 1995 the paper was printed in a broad sheet format and I strongly believe that the management team chose to change the layout because of there sales. The Edinburgh evening news is printed in the lovely offices near to Holyrood palace, which yes is just opposite the new Scottish parliament building in Edinburgh...

...The Manchester Evening News (MEN) are in my bad books at the moment, but you?ll have to read the nice bit of the opinion first to find out why. This is a local(ish) paper that is published in tabloid form 6 days a week. Though Manchester by name is spans the whole of the north west and other areas of the country too ? and even though at home we have weekly and daily free and not so free papers that cover a more local area, in the newsagents in which I used to work many people still asked for the MEN. It?s an afternoon daily (as indeed most local UK publications are) but the time it hits the shelves depends on your location ? I can get it around noon here in Manchester, but we used to take delivery around 2.30, 3pm at home. ...Back in the 80's the world was, shall we say, a colourful place, the boys were as pretty as the girls and all our fashion sense was terrible. Still it wasn't all bad and the era produced a wide range of musical styles and legendary bands, one of my favourite groups of the time is Duran Duran. ...a single theme and can at times seem preachy but it seems like he means well even if his articles aren't the most un-biased or interesting pieces in between the covers. Before Abrams column the magazine features a ?Shot of the Week? which is a photograph usually depicting one of the best punches of the week though it can sometimes be a poignant or interesting photo of no real direct bearing on the weeks boxing. For example pictures of Muhammad Ali doing something that shows how frail he looks now, or Manny Pacquiao throwing a pitch at a baseball stadium. These like all the pictures in the magazine are high quality, though these are the most impressive quality lying over a double page spread an often allowing you to see blood or sweat from a fighter. Back when Setanta was somewhat of a threat to Sky Sports, certain events such as box office boxing weren't even scraped across by Sky Sports if they were being covered by Sky Sports. The same applies to some extent to sporting events shown on terrestrial stations, but this will have more to do with owning the rights to the coverage, and often the fair-dealing principle (I'm going into media law talk here) will only apply to Sky News being able to show clips of Formula 1, for example. One slight disappointment with the channel is the repetition of news stories, that are clearly being simply repeated without even a change to scripting.
