Mango chutney with your meal, sir?
Advantages: Taste, ease of use
Disadvantages: No mango bits
...My wife needed mango chutney for a recipe last week, and asked me to get some. In our local Tesco's, of the three brands available, this turned out to be the cheapest on the shelf. Per 100g, I think it worked out a bit more expensive than the others, and it's the 375g squeezy bottle I picked up, as opposed to the more familiar format of a jar - this wasn't available.
To start with, the squeezy bottle makes it easier to apply, especially if you're having it as an accompaniment to your meal, or for squeezing onto salads or sandwiches, as per the recommendation on the bottle.
Mango chutney is used by many to add a bit of sweetness to an Indian meal without it detracting from the taste and effect the meal itself has. I have always had (wherever possible) a generous portion of it as an extra taste, and I found the Sharwood's version to...

Sharwoods Mango Chutney
Advantages: Good taste, good value for money, recyclable jar
Disadvantages: not as good as fresh, high sugar content
...I love good food and something that is often on my shopping list is Mango Chutney. Based on the reputable brand name i have remained loyal to Sharwoods. Established in 1889 Sharwoods has a product range steeped in history.
So what do i have Mango Chutney with?
Mango Chutney is a well known accompaniment to Indian Cuisine. I put it a good dollop on the side of my curry and use it to dip popaddums and naan bread.
Apart from the obvious ideas of combining this with curry i use it in other meals.
1. Put it in a sandwich instead of pickle.
2.Mix it with mayonaise or sour cream to make a dip for vegetable sticks or crusps.
3. Use it as a glaze on pork chops
4. Coat a piece of cod with mango chutney and tomato puree/chopped tomato. cook for 20 mins and then accompany with rice.
Taste
The mango chutney is sweet and has chunks...

WEIGHT WATCHERS tuna in mango chutney, YUM YUM
Advantages: They are low in sins on red day, and they are LUSH
Disadvantages: IT'S TOOOO SMALL
...Hello again,
I was doing my cleaning and all of a sudden my stomach started to growl, i thought 'what am i going to to have to eat' as i haven't been shopping (you know one of those days).
-THE FRIDGE WAS BARE-
So to my dispare the fridge was bare, Hey! that rhymes, lol.
No ham, no low fat spread, not a pickle in sight.
So i looked in my cupboard and there it was a TIN OF WEIGHT WATCHERS TUNA IN MANGO CHUTNEY lush.
-THE PACKAGING-
Ok it comes in box with 3 tins inside which weigh 80g each.
The front of the box is a picture of a plate with granary type bread and loads of TUNA IN MANGO all over it with some salad.
For some of you who do weight watchers they are 1 point per tin.
The actual tuna is JOHN WEST.
It also says: Dolphin friendly
On glancing at the tin (which is quite small) i could easily get in my...

Do a tango with some mango!
Advantages: Really tasty
Disadvantages: None
...This Mango Chutney is the perfect accompaniment to any curry- its also lovely for dipping pappdoms in. It is sticky and sweet, with spicy undertones- i love the lumps of mango that you get throughout it. The very best Indian mangoes were simmered over a low flame with a range of spices, creating this scrumptious delight. I simply cant have a curry without it now- if you are having a hot curry it cools it down slightly and if youre having a creamy curry, it stops it becoming too rich.

Fruity and spicey! (And that's just me!)
Advantages: Delicious and versatile.
Disadvantages: Too much fruit.
...As a fan of this product and the only one in my house who eats it, I feel able to write this review at my leisure! (Without someone coming towards me with a spoon begging a bit!).
The product I will review is "Asda's mango chutney".
I have always been a fan of Indian cuisine, albeit not a particularly adventurous one, it has taken me a few years to build up to jalfrezi status, so all the extras that are available, ie dips and such, have been pretty much stuck at the plain poppadom level!
I decided to try this after recommendation by my dad, he normally has lime pickle with his curry, but accidentally picked this one up. He hated it due to the incomprehensible sweetness of it, but realised I would love it as I am a fan of anything sweet or sickly!
~~~~~~ THE PACKAGING ~~~~~~
The chutney comes in a medium sized clear...
Tesco Spicy Mango Chutney... 230g jar - £0.79
When it comes to store bought chutneys, Tesco's is neither the worst nor the best... it is typically sweet, and disgustingly bland. The jar says spicy, but don't expect any great miracles here... the ingredients themselves say it all. As for the consistency, although the picture on the jar shows it to be thick and packed with mangoes, it definitely isn't. True, there are a few lumps here and there, but...
Hey Mango!
Advantages: Functionality, looks, performance
Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive
...a home/mobile/work number, then 10 is just useless. I was also willing to pay a bit more because we have bought cheap cordless phones at work and ended up replacing them because their range was poor and moving more than a few feet away from the phone lost the connection.
I was quite interested in a Panasonic when the BT Mango caught my eye and I thought 'wow, cool phone'. Unusual, bright colours of cream and orange and a distinctive shape with a slider mechanism which opens to reveal the number pad. I was sold by its looks alone and when I checked the functions, the deal was done. Unfortunately, it was even more expensive at £109.99 but too late, I'd made up my mind. Also unfortunately, I should have slept on it, instead of acting on impulse because when I looked at it again the next day, I wondered what I'd found so attractive about it...
Piquant and Very Fruity
Advantages: Piquant. Fruity. Versatile. Tasty
Disadvantages: Not Many
...Chutney is a most piquant relish that originated in the rich cuisines of the Indian sub-continent. It is normally eaten in small amounts in order to add flavour and to accent a meal.I must say I love the stuff !
Sainsbury's Mango Chutney is a very good example of a fine Chutney,which is both delightfully fruity and spicy.
Among the ingredients are the likes of mango,ginger,coriander and this Chutney is slightly spiced and most certainly very fruity.
Actually I have long enjoyed Chutney. In many ways I suppose as a guy who adores spicy Indian food it is not too surprising that I should also happen to have a distinct fondness for relishes like Chutney.
This relish is traditionally served as an accompaniment to a good Indian meal : a Chicken Tanddori, a Mutton Massala or a Chicken Madras with Rice or Garlic Naan Bread...
Mango Bookclub
Advantages: books to your door! good joining offers
Disadvantages: not massive range of choice
...I joined mango for one reason - to get the free books you get when you join, i picked some great books (and the most expensive ones) and sold them on ebay, i think the joining offer was 5 books for a pound or something, plus p & p which took it up to about four pounds.
With mango you get a catalogue every month with their best picks, what you get varies every month and the range isnt massive, they have a wide range of genres but not alot of books in each, unless what youre mainly after is contemporary fiction, of which they have lots.
You get your monthly catalogue and statement and you pick what you want and can order it by phone, online or via mail, you dont pay until the statement that comes after your books have been recieved. The books are delievered by courier and once you get your statement payment is required within...
Mango tastes good to me so far
Advantages: Good special offers
Disadvantages: Postage and packing expensive on cheaper books
...There have recently been one or two reviews slating Mango Book Club, so it seems only fair that I say that my experience of them has been without problems so far.
Not the best of starts, as my introductory book was left in my dustbin - it was a relatively new one and had been emptied that morning, but even so I didn't find that acceptable. However, that was the fault of the delivery company rather than Mango. I didn't actually want that particular book, so I listed it on Amazon Marketplace and sold it within twenty-four hours at a very decent price, considering Mango only charged me 99p for it.
Since then I have ordered a cookery book, a book on memory loss which I hope to read over the Christmas period (having reached the age when short-term memory can cause frequent problems), and Roald Dahl's 'Songs and Verse' - a good variety...
