...Tankersley Manor is a place that I have been to a few times over the years and it was also the location of my work's Christmas Party at the end of last year. It is a well known Hotel and Restaurant with a good local reputation. THE BACKGROUND From the outside Tankersley Manor is quite impressive to say the least, standing in its own well maintained Gardens and Grounds and surrounded by Woodland the building itself is a rather imposing Stone built building. The Hotel as you see it today has been extensively restored but it has been built around a 17th Century Manor House that once occupied the location. THE FACILITIES Tankersley Manor has a Restaurant, a Health Club and 70 rooms all with en suite facilities. Stratford Manor A Tranquil Retreat

Advantages: Clean, friendly, child friendly, pets allowed, lovely environment
Disadvantages: Can get very busy with slow service and not all staff are very friendly

...Earlier this year we decided that it was time for a much needed break and what better place to spend it than in Shakespeare Countryside, Stratford Upon Avon? Having lived in Coventry which is in the West Midlands I am familiar with Stratford Upon Avon and how beautiful it is. The scenery there is lush and it is definitely Shakespeare Countryside. Excellent Manor's Drayton

...The school holidays are always a bit of a bugger. Where can you take children aged fourteen, eleven, nine and four and guarantee that they will all enjoy it? After much pondering and googling we decided that Drayton Manor was the only theme park within striking distance that seemed to have something for everyone. Not that one hour and fifty minutes is particularly within striking distance. It is one hell of a dull journey from Liverpool along the M6 and it came as a bit of a shock when we got to the M6 toll; Four quid each way the robbing buggers! Nonetheless, several pee and tea breaks later we arrived at Drayton Manor and the site really is quite expansive. Smack bang in the middle of Tamworth it is a huge park. Unfortunately, it is not particularly well set out on entry and the one lane queuing to park the car adds an extra ten...

Traditional yet contemporary -Aldwark Manor Golf & Spa

...I have stayed at Aldwark Manor twice and on both occasions had a fantastic experience. The first time I stayed here was a surprise trip that Mr Lools booked for our 5 year anniversary. Because we had such a wonderful time we returned six months later for a weekend break and our second visit was just as good as our first. ***Location*** Aldwark Manor is located in Aldwark in North Yorkshire. The hotel is set in tranquil secluding grounds and has its own 18 hole Golf Course. The hotel is 13 miles away from York City Centre which takes around 30 minutes to drive, either by car or taxi. The nearest railway station is York City Centre The hotel is easy accessible by car and is a 10 minute drive once you have left junction 47 on the A1m. Please note that there is a toll bridge on the approach to the hotel with a 40p charge...

...Drayton Manor theme park Tamworth Staffordshire Opens 10.30 am Closes 6pm ( 5pm off peak ) After a good few years a friend and myself took my kids and their friend to Drayton manor Park for the day. I was pleasantly surprised on how much the place had changed, so much more to see and do, the kids were just dying to be let loose on the big rides. ( So was my friend ). We went at the end of July i wasnt sure about going at this time of year as the schools were finishing and the starting of the summer holidays but we found on arriving that the queue,s to enter the park were pretty good ,not too long at all , all in all i think we were not even 10 minutes in line. Drayton Manor - Family Fun!

Advantages: Unique rides, fun for kids.

...Drayton Manor Theme Park is set near Tamworth in Staffordshire which first opened it's gates all the way back in 1949. The theme park is home to many thrilling and unique rides as many of it's rides hold the title of 'Only... in the world/ Europe' which gives this theme park a bit of an edge over others. I visited Drayton Manor last year and it was my first trip to a theme park of any kind and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately we didn't get around to going on any of the big rollercoasters due to insufficient time and long queues. I hope I can go back again some day and try them but until then I can describe them at least. You can get here by your car or you can actually go by a day trip with a club i know that harry shaw sometimes goes but i dont no when they run the day trips. I have been to drayton manor so many times since the age of ten every year that i have been going there is a new ride everytime. It is a great place for all ages and theres so many rides aswel. The rides dont open till 10.30am but it is easier to go early so you can get in the queue for the rides so you dont miss your turn on the ride. Haunted House -The haunted house runs every 15mins it makes you think that you are going upside down when you sit down on some chairs, the floor boards shake it makes you feel as if you are going to go threw...
