...Having used a Tom Tom Go 700 for a number of years, I decided to update the maps of Western Europe. Tom Tom uses software called Tom Tom Home which is used to download the updated maps. Having connected Tom Tom Go 700 to my PC, via a USB cable, it was a simple matter of clicling on the relevant icon on the Home Software, paying for the maps, and downloading them over the internet.
Payment was straight forward. It is undertaken electronically either by credit or debit card, and the down load commenced.
Because of the size of the map file, it took a little time to download (I do have broadband running at 8mb band width, so I suppose a lesser bandwith will take longer.
Use of the system is simplicity itself. You are given a choice of country, and then you select address, or point of interest....

...All Maps Welcome is the third album from Tom McRae, after his self-titled album, Tom McRe, and then Just Like Blood. I first heard this album when I was given a free taster to it, which played about 30 seconds of each song; this then led me to buy the full album. I was already a fan, and was looking forward to seeing him when he toured last year. His dark lyrics and melancholy melodies really blew me away, and I wanted to hear more.
In this album, he uses assistance from members of Beck?s backing band. It took only three weeks to record, and the album itself deals with the break up of a long term relationship. His lyrics are just as deep as in other albums, but with hints of self-pity never seen before.
I never really connected with this album as much as the previous ones, and I am still sceptical with some of the songs on Just...
...I first came across MultiMap.com through the use of Lycos. They must have some sort of partnetship with Lycos where the Lycos website used part of the MultiMap site and you were able to look at street maps on the Lycos website. Since then I have used this website whenever I want to find a place that I want to go.

...TomTom Map of the USA and Canada Maps
TomTom Maps are a 2gb SD card with route maps stored on them that are made to work with the TomTom satellite navigation system. They originally come with UK/Europe maps so these are a brilliant upgrade if you are considering taking your car abroad or hiring a car and driving over there. These are a lot easier than using a standard map when you are visiting another country and make getting around easy.
We have just bought one of these as we are planning a trip to the USA and decided one of these would be useful. I have never been abroad so certainly wont know my way around.
It was very easy to install onto the TomTom. We also decided the points of interest feature would be really useful as we use the UK based one on our current maps a lot.
It has lots of features that include...

Before a visit, during a visit or after a visit, you can find me absorbed in these multi-coloured sheets of paper, studying and reading them like a book. Although I have thousands already, I always welcome one brought home for me from someone`s holiday or trip and if I`m going myself, the first item on my list is always…MAPS!

Almost every house will have maps of some description, be they Ordnance Survey , Michelin, Collins or A-Z. Most of us that travel a lot by car will have lots of them, stuffed into glove or door pockets or maybe just chucked carelessly onto the back seat. Whatever the publishers, at some time or another they are indispensable.

Advantages: Easy to keep with TOMTOM at all times. Disadvantages: Easy to lose if not in safe stowage.
...After using this product myself for nine months now, I feel I am qualified to write this report.
These maps are very easy to load into the Tomtom, (they load in a few moments) easy to use, show just about everything you need to navigate with ease
There are some very easy to see graphics, and the colours are just about right for all light conditions.
The display is very clear, and unaffected by sunlight. It is easy to see in all conditions. The price does appear a little on the high side at the moment, however, I suspect it will drop as soon as it starts selling like "hot cakes" as I am sure it will do very soon.
The only fault I can think of, is the ease of losing it, due to the size, however, I find that used film containers are perfect for things like this. The blank cards are cheap enough to buy...
Advantages: Lucsious pop Disadvantages: Flat in places
...Maps is a lad called James Chapman who works in his bed-room and splices sounds together on a 16-track recorder rather than using a computer. The result is a semi glorious pop album, in the style of bands like Grandaddy and the Postal Service, or maybe Death Cab for Cutie or even Moby ? gentle, luscious pop.
The positive side is that in its good moments, the luscious, rich sounds make you drift off into a happy place as the electronic sounds wash around inside your head. This happens enough that I could recommend the album.
The downside is that in some places the album is a little flat. It does sound like Moby in parts (particularly his last album) but of course Moby didn?t learn in his bedroom, he went to techno raves and learned the power of a groove, which this album lacks.
The opening couple of tracks are ok but track three...
Advantages: Kids love it Disadvantages: None that come to mind

The goblins and the Invisible Paint..With a big thirst but no money to buy drinks, the goblins get Mr Sparks to agree to split his profit with them if the lucky charm they give him brings him more business! Then they set about painting things with invisible paint and putting them in the road to cause accidents. Will Mr Plod work it out and put the naughty goblins behind bars where they belong?
What Strange Weather...Toytown is very lucky that they have lovely weather almost all of the time. Until it starts raining eggs and milk. A reward is offered by Mr. Plod for anyone who can solve the case of 'The strange weather day' and Tessie Bear is also offering a reward for anyone who can find her missing milk churn.

...I'm one of those people who would prefer to look at a map when I'm planning a route rather than rely on a satellite navigation system, call me old fashioned, in fact you can also call me tight as I see no real benefit to splashing out the cash on one based on the type of journeys that I do.
When I'm driving somewhere I like to have a geographical feel for my location, what that means to me is that I like to have a sense of whether I should be travelling north, south, east or west on a journey, what the local landmarks are and other destinations along my route. I have tried a number of different route planners during my time however personally I have found Google maps to be the best available mainly because there are so many features to take advantage of.

...What is it?
From the famous Producers of Google Earth and Google Maps comes Gmaps pedometer, which in a nut-shell is a free piece of routing software that enables a variety of different users to devise a route and upload it to a GPS system (or print it out) and follow it.
Uses
This piece of software is very versatile and has many uses and it can be used to devise walking routes, running routes, cycle routes or any other outdoor pursuit route that you can think of, and to make it easier there are three functions, being automatically (for runners), automatically (for cyclists) and manually (straight lines), to devise your routes.
Being a keen cyclist I primarily use the automatically (for cyclists) function, although I have used both automatically (for runners) and manually (straight lines) and I can confess...
