Marantz deliver on the sound

Advantages: Great looks, expansive open and detailed
Disadvantages: Lacks a little bite, not ideal for loud volumes

...There are a number of high quality amplifiers at the moment within the budget range and Marantz certainly figures prominently in this group. As with all of these amplifiers, they each seem to provide their own characteristic or sonic signature. In the case of Marantz, I usually consider them to be very open throughout the mid range and delivering a crisp clean bass or "snap" to the music. Therefore it was of a great interest to me to finally hear this particular amplifier which has been so highly praised in many publications. When you see this amplifier, it looks expensive, it has a curvy attractive design which certainly belies it's price tag. It is clear that there has been a great emphasis on aesthetics to allow this to stand up in this very competitive market and it certainly gets top marks for that. Secondly a welcome addition...

Marantz cd5400 experience uncovered

Advantages: Uncover brilliant level of detail solid build
Disadvantages: Some features seem useless

...I have had this cd player for close to a year now and i can confidentally say it still works exactley the same from the day i purchased it, which compared to some of its rivals wheer the laser goes weak or the motors go slugish the marantz cd5400 truly has a high quality build to it. If your a marantz fan then you should already have trust in what they can produce and to me the marantz cd5400 is the back bone to a nice high quality system. It is not the best cd player around but for the money I can gurantee you will find it very hard to fin a cd player more impressive then the marantz cd5400. When i first listened to my cd5400 i was that impressed by the acoustical detail it uncoverd i actully had to go down stairs and steal my moms mozart collection just to see how great it was. The only draw backs to this cd player is...

75 Reasons

Advantages: Grown up and well engineered luxury car
Disadvantages: Rover badge, insecurity of the firm

...Considering all the trouble that has surrounded Rover over the years, it's a mazing the company exists at all. Thinking back at all those awful cars the company made (or in fact all their cars), they really should have died a quick death a long tinme ago. The rule here is that Rover make crap cars. And to prove a rule you need an exception and the 75 is just that. Rover cars have lived under the pretence of having some sort of prestige for years now, thinking that putting a chrome grille on below-par super-mini somehow justifies the car as prestigious. Posh people would never buy a Rover. Rovers are bought by middle-class retired people. But with the 75 Rover has finally created a car of real refinement, a car that actually oozes quality. Much of this is done by blatantly copying the Jaguar S-Type, but the 75 is a far better...

Rover 75 Diesels

Advantages: MPG..Toys..Insurance group..
Disadvantages: Bootspace..if anything !

...I'm on my 2nd Rover 75 now, a saloon with all the bells and whistles...I had the estate version on recommendation of a truly knowledgeable friend in the motor trade and loved it..then the leather clad, sunroofed Connosieur turned up at a laughable price so I went for it... Both versions offer a seriously cheap way to get a good strong car, wich is both comfortable and economical...mileage claims from fans vary between 45 and 55 mpg on the diesel 2ltr engine and that's got to be good enough..They'll tow anything and run all day on motorways or round the town... The interiors are fitted with enough toys to keep even the biggest gadget freak happy and electrically they're usually pretty good..a few ABS sensor problems and a bugger of a system for fuel delivery ( twin pumps) often means it's worth being nice to your local MG Rover...

MaRANTZ and RAVES about this one!

Advantages: Quality sound and build/nice features
Disadvantages: A bit too trebly and crisp

...and I couldn?t have got better than the Marantz CD4000. SOUND Marantz are well known for quality products, so I really didn?t need much convincing to get this one. The important thing about separates is balancing your components to create an overall lively but controlled sound, which can be tricky. Your speakers reproduce the sound, the Amp decodes it but your CD player creates it, making it an important starting point in the audio process. The Marantz is sharp and clear, with a very distinct vivid, vibrant sound that would clean up even the most bass orientated systems. It lacks depth however, which would disappoint the bass lovers out there and I find it prefers rock tracks rather than dance or R&B. The old classics belt out nicely, like Mike and the Mechanics `Living Years` and Mike Oldfield?s `Moonlight Shadow`. FEATURES As...

Marantz PM66-SE

Advantages: Features, durability, looks and abilities as a Dolby 2.0 Receiver
Disadvantages: Poor control over demanding music, weak midrange and a general lack of muscles.

...This is an ok amp. Nothing more, nothing less. It plays neutral with a coloring a bit towards the warm side (typical Marantz). It is has all the features needed for an amp today (Thumbs up for the 'Source Direct' switch!), looks good and is easy to use. The problem with this amp is, unfortunately, it's ability to present music. Even though it has no "screaming" weaknesses, it has no apparent strengths neither. It becomes a bit boring too me. Midrange is the weakest side of this amp. When given songs where theres a lot going on in the midrange (Soilwork - Follow The Hollow, Pink FLoyd - The Dark Side of The Moon), it gets messy. It also lacks the open "top" to give Tool - Vicarious or Dire Straits -The Man's Too Strong the snappy sound it deserves. Also the bottom tends to get a bit "wool-like". Almost as it looses controls when...

Mooching to Marantz

Advantages: High Quality Sound
Disadvantages: Not that good for Metallica (TTRACER says)

...Well, this is a name that we all know but we can't usually afford - Warfedale Speakers, Mission Amp., Bose Tweeters etc. are in the same bracket. Now I would love to say that I have this system but unfortunately I can't - but I can write a review of my father-in-law's kit. I have asked a few ciao insiders about Mirantz and what they like / dislike...special thanks to TTRacer. Marantz released this model as a limited version origionally in 2000...either that or the British Isles were over-looked when marketing...anyway...it seems to be around now, so why would you want this. If you are into Heavy Metal; stop reading - it ain't worth it. I've been told that CD-5000 doesn't give out the right LIVE atmosphere needed for feedback playing seen in concerts. Whatever dad but ummm...I like this classically constructed masterclass...

IXUS 75 Superb Compact!

Advantages: Quality Shots, Build Quality, Ease of use.
Disadvantages: None.

...The Canon Digital IXUS 75 is a 7.1 megapixel pocket sized digital camera, as soon as i recieved this camera i was very impressed with the build quality, it feels very solid to handle and looks like an expensive camera. The 3inch LCD screen is superb although there is no viewfinder this is not a problem for most people. Battery life is excellent, i have taken 200-250 shots on a 1hr charge. There is a fully automatic mode, good for people who want to just point and click and it works very well indeed and there are several manual options for more adventurous photographers out there, one very cool feature is the portrait mode which softens skin tones giving you nice portrait snaps, the camera has red eye correction so that you can fix red eye but only in playback mode, still a nice function though, overall i would say that this one...

Vodafone Anytime 75 - A great deal!

Advantages: Great Service! Super Value! Online cheaper than In Store. Free Phone. Half Price rental for 6 Months
Disadvantages: Long Contract

...close to using my inclusive minutes & texts! Additionally, I often incurred extra charges if I sent an MMS, browsed the Web or checked Voice Mail. **The Vodafone Offering - At A Glance** Now this Vodafone plan is a beauty! I came across this on the Vodafone website and it was one of their special online hot deals for the month. At a glance, the 18 Month "Vodafone Anytime 75" gives you the following for just £16 per month: 75 Minutes Anytime Xnet 100 Texts Vodafone Stop The Clock Free latest phone (mine was the Nokia 6230i with a FREE bluetooth headset) However, "At A Glance" doesn't tell the full story; it gets better! **Cost** The Store price for this plan is £26 p/m, so at £16, that's an immediate £10 per month saving by buying on line! Mine was a special deal (probably because it's 18 months) where the first 6...

LG37LT75

Advantages: Looks good
Disadvantages: Lousy servicce

...My LG 37LT75 I bought the TV in January. It looked very good. Apart from the annoying 'auto turning over to record' when I was watching another programme I really liked it. Then I noticed it locking up when I was trying to turn over channels. The whole TV would lock and I had to turn the TV off and back on to get it to respond to anything other than the on/off button. I ignored it for a month or so. It got worse over the months, so 9 months in to the warranty I contacted LG. It took a few goes but eventually an engineer was assigned. He was given the wrong address details but I managed to direct him to the flat over the phone and someone else let him in for me. He said he planned to change the main board. When I got home the TV worked for a couple of hours at most and then locked. This time nothing worked - no power, nothing...
