...I would suggest that if you need a quick dash to somewhere hot then you could do far worse than Marbella Hotel Corfu. Marbella proudly displays five stars at the end of the drive way, and whilst the rooms and facilities are good I would suggest five stars is a little generous. It is really the rooms which let the place down as they are similar in feel to a good Travel Lodge albeit with air conditioning. We opted for half board which seemed to work out well as there is plenty of food for all tastes - it's buffet style so a large serving area displays the dishes, and guests help themselves to whatever they want. There are lots to choose from, and I'm pleased to say that all of it is good. If you worry about noise at night from clubs / drunk folk having a laugh, then you don't need to worry about it here as the place is very tranquil...

Live like Sultans in the Mary Celeste!

Advantages: Very comfortable base.
Disadvantages: Too quiet and facilities not available.

Lovely holiday in Calahonda

Advantages: Great complex, excellent facilities, clean, great location
Disadvantages: No shallow end to pool, hilly area and complex

...We have recently returned from a weeks stay at Club Marbella in Calahonda. Calahonda is a town in between Malaga and Marbella, about a 30 minute drive from Malaga airport. I went on this holiday with my boyfriend, Mum and her partner. They stay at this resort as part of a timeshare but you are also able to book to go on holiday here independently. We arrived late afternoon and parked in the large car park over the road. We went over to the small reception area and didn't have to queue to see anyone. We were allowed to choose which room we wanted to stay in, which I thought was good although perhaps wouldn't be an option in peak season. The room we choose was on the 3rd floor and you had to go either down a long slope or steps and then back up three flights of steps to the room, this isn't somewhere I'd recommend for people...

more of a palace than a hotel. Marbela`s finest!!

Advantages: beautiful and very clean.

...The NH Alanda hotel in Marbella is without doubt one of the best hotels I have stayed in and Marbella itself is a beautiful city. A holiday in Marbella is always going to be a great holiday but you really can add to your time there by using this hotel. Marbella is situated along the Costa del Sol and is Spains answer to st Tropez, this holiday resort is chic and is well known to be favoured by the rich and famous. It's not hard to see why when you visit you will be instantly taken aback by the beauty of your surroundings, which brings me to this fantastic hotel. The NH Alanda hotel with its beautiful pool, four star rating (five in some brochures now I believe) and its 199 rooms looks more like a palace than a hotel. Vital to health?

Advantages: Fast weight loss

...It was a chance text from my sister, inviting me to visit Detox Marbella or Vortex Vitaal that led to my trip to Marbella in late 2006 - being my 4th detox in as many years. Somehow 50 weeks of filling the body with typical Western foodstuffs it doesn't deserve, followed by two weeks of intense cleansing might not be the perfect solution to long term health, but still it is better than nothing! Great Little Hotel

Advantages: Excellent service, attention to detail, impressive value for money

...La Villa Marbella is located in the beautiful Old Town of Marbella. The hotel is very charming and the friendliness of the service personal is exceptional. The rooms are very nice furnished and well equipped. The room rates are quite expensive though. You pay for at least 4* stars without having a pool, wellness area, etc.. ...Very soon after I first joined Ciao I remember checking out a few opinions on the Costa del Sol, seeing as I had just booked to go on holiday there! Andalucia Plaza - not a 4 star hotel!

...Having just returned from the Andalucia Plaza, I thought I would let you know what I thought of this hotel. I went for the weekend with friends and had been highly recommended that this hotel was one of the best to stay in, in Marbella so was really looking forward to it. We arrived on Friday and had booked to stay until Sunday (3 days) and got to the hotel at 1.30pm. Our rooms weren't ready and we had to wait 2 hours for them - not impressed! When we got to the rooms, the cleaners were still in there. Were very disappointed with the rooms - not what I would call 4 star - very basic and the furnishings were tatty. The telephones didn't work the whole of our stay; the balconies were very small and we had a lovely view overlooking the air-conditioning units! Also, the TV only seemed to like showing us Russian programmes - not much...

Lets go camping

...We bought our first proper tent last year as it was at a knock down price,our thoughts behind it were if we were really skint we could still go of for a weekend with the kids for next to nothing. We purchased the marbella 6 which is made by gelert from our local camping out let and it was reduced from £100 to £79 so as far as we were concerned it was a bargain and snapped it up. The marbella 6 is a six person tent with two bedrooms and a living area in the middle, it is a dome shapped tent which allows you then to be able to stand up in the living area space in it,with a door either side of the living space you can then decide which door to open depending on what you want to be facing, both doors have a window on, it is of a green colour and has them bendy poles to erect it.
