..hands in the air,at Weston -Super -Mare!

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful day out.
Disadvantages: Too many people on the routes there in the Summer.

...I thought I'd write a Weston-Super-Mare review since my husband and I took our little ones there today for a spot of sandcastle building. As we only live 15 minutes away, down the M5, it's a place I have frequented throughout my life. My Grandparents live in Worle which is just off the motorway on the way in to Weston, and always took us to the seafront in the Summer, so this is the place I shall start. THE SEA FRONT Weston-Super-Mare is in North Somerset (previously Avon). Weston-sur-la-mer (on-the-sea) became Weston-Super-Mare for obvious reasons... our tangled evolution of language! I suppose it is sort of on-the-sea, but is really on the Severn Estuary. This means that there is a lot of mud washing up and down! We often, jokingly call it Weston-Super-Mud! Review of Travel Inn Weston Super Mare

Advantages: clean, next to a pub, ensuite, tea and hot chocolate, big room, heater
Disadvantages: noisy carpark, no tv remote, easy book didnt work on website

...We were looking for a hotel or guesthouse in weston-super-mare but for the same price as a small guesthouse with shared bathrooms you can go to the travel inn and have ensuite for just £42.95 per room... it doesnt matter what room you have , single, double, family - the price remains the same. Booking the inn did have its problems. I wanted to use the 'easy book' system they have on their website but it wasnt working properly (page cannot be displayed, some sort of server error). I am not keen on using the phone so I kept trying the easy book at regular intervals throughtout the day. After a day and a half I gave up and phoned them directly. The gentleman was very polite on the phone, the only problem was that you dont get a confirmation of booking like an email. This particular inn was by a leisure centre on the main road into...

Something for everyone.

Advantages: Lots of choice for pools / eats/ drinks
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive daily rate

...The Residence is the apartment section of the Porto Mare hotel, the apartments are available as timeshares, but also available to book as you would any hotel room which is what we have done on 4 occasions now. We booked the one bedroom apartment, for which you get a large living room with TV (with surround sound kit), DVD, sofabed and dining area including table and chairs. The bedroom has an enormous bed, which is actually 2 doubles pushed together and is very comfortable indeed. There is a seperate kitchen which is well equipped with microwave, dishwasher, hob, lots of pots and pans etc. The bathroom is separated into two rooms, one side has a bath and sink, the other a sink, WC and walk in shower, all of which are spotlessly clean. The aprtment also has patio doors in both the longe and the bedrooms that go out onto a private garden...

..."Remembering The Day" is such an evocative, beautiful, touching and sensual album, composed / performed by the multiple award winning violinist / composer Catya Maré. I´d like to recommend it to everybody who likes world / ambient / new age music! It is highly original. A mixture of ambient / electronica / classical / new age and world elements. And, in my opinion, it really touches your soul, leaves you refreshed after listening. Catya´s violin sounds more like a beautiful voice than a violin, very special. In some of her songs she combines her mesmerizing violin sound with a choir, that adds an ethereal quality to the song. I love it! Review of Remembering The Day - Catya Mare

Great choice of fins, though at a price

Advantages: Very little effort required underwater, flexible
Disadvantages: Not cheap, not the best for long surface swims

...My Mares Volo Power fins are among the favourite items of my dive kit. While pricey, they do a very good job, and make finning underwater incredibly easy. One of the few drawbacks is I find they're not as good for surface swims, particularly against current. They are longer than many standard fins, which takes some getting used to, and it's something to be aware of when you're near fragile coral reef. However, they're also ultra-flexible, and I usually find I can get back into the boat while still wearing them. Initially I found the quick-release catch at the side to be rather cumbersome - the lock-unlock mechanism isn't very easy with gloves on. To be honest, I've now taken to closing and not locking them, and they've never opened up while I'm in the water. When these fins first appeared on the market they were pretty expensive...

...I have been ordered by this company to remove my review of the experience I had when buying a used car from them. They have threatened further action should I not comply with their wishes. As it is obviously no longer acceptable to state either facts or opinions, I have done so. I have now changed the offending Fiat Punto for a Honda Civic.............OH JOY!!!! A fantastic drive and incredible service from Howards Honda in Weston-super-Mare. I really should have followed my first instincts, and bought a Honda in the first place. I would recommend anyone to use the Howards dealership. I am still of the opinion that the Punto I originally purchased was indeed a hunk of junk. I would personally never buy another Fiat in the future....

SheDives in the Tropical pool?

Advantages: warm enough, comfy
Disadvantages: the colour scheme isnt to my taste

...No surprises here but I like to scuba dive, sadly for me a good 90% of my dives these days are working with students and of those over half are in the local pool when assisting on confined water dives or conducting the Discover Scuba program (try dives to the rest of the world). So for me a good quality wetsuit is essential as in the pool I would look slightly ridiculous in a dry suit and it doesnt look overly professional for me to be bimbling about cellulite on display in my bikini. My original shorty suit cost me less than £30 over 6 years ago and is currently developing holes in the shoulders so time to invest in a new one. I have to admit my choices of suit to walk in to my LDS to just pick up and walk away with were limited to the Mares range or Cressi, but after trying on several other suits at other shops I settled...

Snug As A Bug In A Rug

Being female although a fairly normal 12-14 size in clothing but obviously having curves decided to follow one of the things I learnt in my PADI Open Water course and that comfort and fit were highly important so decided I should "try before I buy" so decided buying on the internet was not an option. Where Purchased From And Cost. I bought this suit at LIDS (London International Dive Show) last year at a cost of £40 which I thought was a real bargain. Why I Chose This Wetsuit. I really wanted the ScubaPro 5mm wetsuit but on trying it on it didn't fit well under the arms and it was really difficult to get on. I tried on another wetsuit of a different make but again didn't fit very well although it was a nice girly...
