...Just about every company which has been on the go for years, we are talking about Thirty years, Twenty years or even older, have released their old games on to new consoles, hoping to gain both money and respect. They might get money from older gamers, who just adore horrible emulations of arcade classics like Marble Madness, Paperboy or Pac-Man (Who has been on just about every console to date), but they don't get respect. ...What is Mario Kart? Mario Kart is a racing game using characters from the Super Mario Bros series. Unlike most other racing games, Mario Kart uses items to make the racing more interesting. The Predecessors Mario Kart started life on the SNES console in 1992 with Super Mario Kart. The game had 20 tracks over 4 cups, each with 5 tracks. Players have to unlock the "Special Cup" by beating the Mushroom Cup, Star Cup and Flower Cup in 100CC Grand Prix mode. The second Mario Kart game to be released was Mario Kart 64 on the Nintendo 64. ...It has been six years since a fully new Mario game. Since the revolutionary Mario 64 the plumber has appeared in Super Smash Brothers, Mario Party and Paper Mario to name a few titles but he hasn’t had a proper outing since the N64 was launched. So it is fair to assume that Super Mario Sunshine is under a lot of pressure to deliver a good game. It is, after all, a Mario game and it’s the game that Nintendo hope will boost sales of the GameCube. A lot has happened since Mario 64 as 3D platformers are now all over the place but Mario 64 remains the benchmark and this leaves Sunshine with a lot to eclipse. Super Mario Sunshine begins with Mario taking a well-earned holiday after saving Princess Toadstool time after time. ...I enjoyed playing Mario right from the Nintendo 64 game console and as things may be, the Nintendo game cube Mario does not excite me like the previous Nintendo 64 Mario version. Well a lot of people have been moving comments along the air that the game sucks; yes the game some times sucks but not as some say. The Mario party game does not have that clear destination on where you are heading or your mission status unlike in the Nintendo 64 Mario that really makes it clear to you on where you are heading to not only that even the Mario sunshine makes it clear. Well as a Mario fan and lover, I will still get on with it because there are a lot of excitements in the game no matter what happens. ...Ah Mario. The first real original video game hero/ icon (sorry pac-man). Its good to see he's back in good form. This game definitely does justice to Mario's heritage, and one day probably will be viewed as a classic such as the original or Mario Brothers 3. STORY:5/10 Firstly, no one plays a Mario game for its story unless its a paper Mario rpg. There is a difference between the Mario role playing games and regular Mario games. They are all on different branches. If you want a great story, you play paper Mario. The story in this game is not original, but it suits Mario in that it is the same story as always. Advantages: Bright, vibrant game play with lots of puzzles

...When I chose my Nintendo Game Cube, one of the key drivers for me was the fact that certain games and characters are exclusive to the Nintendo franchise. Two of my favourite games ever were Donkey Kong Country on the SNES and Super Mario on the N64. It therefore seemed logical to get me a Game Cube, as this was the only way I would get to play any new DK or Mario games when released. Super Mario Sunshine was released in the autumn of 2002, and was heralded as the greatest Mario game yet. Following the phenomenally successful Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine was the first platform encounter that Mario had starred in for the Game Cube, and I was quite looking forward to playing it. Having played the game fairly frequently for the best part of three months, I have now virtually completed it, so have plenty of observations... Read review
