Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. ...Marks and Spencer Dine in for two at £10 offer has been running for sometime now, but I hadn't seen it in the new shop that opened nearly a year ago in Livingston, until quite recently - probably because I went at the beginning of the week and it is only on Thursday to Sunday inclusive. I think it has become so popular at Marks that other supermarkets have followed and copied the idea but I have never been tempted in Tesco, as the selection was quite poor, the wine had run out etc. We have tried this a few times now and only once have been disappointed with one product. Marks and Spencer are renowned for good quality food although they do tend to be quite expensive, but in a world where people want to cook quickly they certainly provide easy to cook and tasty prepared food. Robbie Williams Live At Knebworth "Without Me" : (

Advantages: An Excellent Live Album!
Disadvantages: None!

...number one in the album charts in Austria and Germany and is also 3x multi-platinum. One of Take Thats members Mark Owen is a guest star at this concert and appears on this CD with Robbie singing Back For Good a song they both sang together in Take That, although it is slightly raved up a bit and a lot faster. Well this is an excellent compilation of live music. All of the songs are very well know Robbie Williams songs and having them sang live on this CD is really great to listen to, as it's slightly different from regular Robbie Williams albums I have and really lifts my mood when I listen to this live CD. Robbie Williams is also excellent at singing live anyway, so this sounds like it's a studio album, but with some screams and crowd noises. Robbie's also a born entertainer and hearing him on this CD talking, getting his fans spirits...

...Living as I do in Swindon, I am surrounded by railway references. Names such as Gooch, Churchward, Stanier and the biggest of the lot, Brunel are immortalised in street names and buildings throughout the town. Old railway buildings from the once vibrant works, that established the town's longevity, stand alongside newer developments, either converted into modern businesses or slowly decaying into dust. That aside I knew almost nothing about the history of the British railway and really had very little interest in it. That was until I came across a fantastic show, "Mark Williams On the Rails" showing on Sky. After watching only a small part of one of the half hour episodes, I knew that I wanted to watch the whole series and Sky being what it is, it was only a couple of weeks later than I got the chance to tape the whole series shown back...

Does Marks hit the mark?

Advantages: Ideal location for city centre

...Having to travel from time to time for work I recently found myself having to spend the best part of a week in Glasgow and in need of somewhere to lay my weary head at the end of the day and Marks hit the spot in terms of distance from the office and located right in the middle of the city centre with shops and bars a few minutes walk away. Food to Go is the new name for its sandwiches and general snacks – the ones that workers buy for lunch. Hugo Williams - an all round nice book!

Advantages: Well writen, easy to get to grips with, interesting.
Disadvantages: Not as good as the later two books.

...interesting and makes you want to carry on reading to find out exactly what has and will happen. Other story's in the book mainly cover the topic of the authors childhood and growing up. In my opinion the best in the book are ' On your marks', 'A dam' and 'The age of steam', as all of these are easy to understand straight away and are mainly quite light hearted and humorous. Another part of Hugo Williams' work that takes up alot of the book are of an adult theme, in this book there are far more story's about sex and relationships in his later two books combined i think! Some of these can by light hearted and makes you smile such as ' Saturday Morning' which is about walking about on a Saturday and noticing people who had a one night stand or the like the night before and how obvious it is to everyone else, as Hugo Williams puts it in the story...
