...I'm sure many of you out there have spent a fair bit of your internet time browsing somewhere such as eBay for unnecessary products to spend your hard earned cash on. Well, here's an alternative that in my view at least, is better than eBay... I'm sure you're all aware of the concept of Amazon.co.uk and the service it provides, allowing you to buy any kind of electrical goods/DVD/CD amongst the greater selection of goods it now sells. But you can also sell things on Amazon, and buy material from third-parties rather than just through Amazon...that's where it's Marketplace comes in. When clicking on a product, take a DVD for example, you will be given the price, but also an option to buy "Used & New", which will take you to third party sellers which are not associated with Amazon, just merely members of the site. Amazon Marketplace - a great way to declutter & make cash!

...Most of us with internet access will have probably stumbled onto Amazon.co.uk at some point - you can find just about anything and everything available for sale here (the site has come a long way since the early days when it specialised in books and other media products). Whilst the company itself sell an untold number of items, you can also buy from private sellers & other businesses through what is known as 'Amazon marketplace'. I myself have sold numerous items through the marketplace - just find the product you have to sell, click the 'got one to sell?' button, give your item a rating with regards to condition, add a description (not compulsory) & a price & bingo! your item is up for sale! Win at selling on Amazon Marketplace

Advantages: Easy to register as a seller, easy process to follow
Disadvantages: Having to go to post office to post the books!

...I decided to sell a number of college text books via Amazon Marketplace and have been very successful. I have had less success selling fiction, I guess because these books are cheap to buy new anyway. It is very easy to register, all you need is an email address and then you simply fill in a standard questionnaire. Once this is done, all you need is the ISBN number from the back of the book to identify it. You will then be asked to state what condition the book is in (you are given guidance on this which is useful). Amazon will then give you an idea of what price you should ask for. You don't have to go for this price though and can choose your own. My advice would be to see how many other copies of the book are for sale, what condition they are in and at what price and go from there. (I have generally priced a couple of pounds...

...Let me just get this out of the way....I'm a huge fan of Amazon. There is no doubt that what they do is the best. I've been shopping with Amazon for about 9 years ever since I realised that their price were simply better than everyone elses but not that their range was simply enormous allmost to the point that I believe that if its not on Amazon then its simply not available in any significant numbers. Some years back Amazon introduced the marketplace which must seem like commercial disaster as the company is actively inviting competition. I use the word 'surprising' because I have personally had a lack of confidence over buying from Amazon compared to the high standards we would normally expect from the company.
