mmmm marks and spencers!
Advantages: tasty
Disadvantages: soo more-ish!
...Okay so I'm a big fan of all things sweet and my latest sweet fix comes in the tubs of marks and spencers confectionary. When Mrs B was pregnant she very fortunately had cravings for marks and spencer's food of any description and used to send me off on my merry way to do the weekly shop and allow me to purchase whatever I liked so long as it was from M&S.
It was during one of my many trips around the store that I came across the 2 for £4 deal on tubs of cakes and decided to invest in a few. The flapjacks soon became my firm favourite and now we always have at least one tub in the house- for emergencies!
They are the nicest flapjacks I've ever had as they taste very fresh and buttery. They are worth all the 70 calories per bite!
They have recently been repackaged, they now come in a bright yellow tub with a simple picture...

This is not just any review. This is a Marks and Spencer Review.
Advantages: Good quality and tasty food
Disadvantages: Quite expensive
...You may have your own opinion about Marks and Spencer in general, with some people still perceiving it to be a tad old fashioned and unimaginative.
However, the same cannot be said about Marks and Spencer's food department.
The reason I buy Marks and Spencers food is because of the taste and quality. I often pop into Marks and Spencers on the way home from work if I don't have much in the fridge and fancy a quick but tasty convenience meal. To be fair, I think that the ready made meals are probably the biggest attraction for most people shopping at this store. You just don't manage to get the same selection or quality of convenience meals from the larger supermarkets, such as Tescos or Asda. I know that I can stop off at Marks for 10 minutes and manage to pick up a nice meal for tea, whereas if I went elsewhere, I just wouldn...

Mmmm Marks and Spencer's Sponge Cake!
Advantages: tastes lovely
Disadvantages: lots of calories, not suitable for certain allergy sufferers, quite expensive
...The name Marks and Spencers has always been associated with good quality food in my mind. It is true that their stores have come under quite a lot of criticism in recent years but to me their quality of food has never deteriorated and it is still second to none.
I do not shop at Marks and Spencers regularly but if I get the chance I do like to make a few selective purchases. One such treat that I have discovered is their Iced Sponge Cake.
At £1.39 for a 335g Sponge Cake this could be considered to be on the expensive side. However, this may be a Sponge based treat but do not think that it will taste anything like a Victoria Sponge Cake for a moment, because this treat is in a whole different league.
The Cake is rectangular in shape and comes in three different layers each separated with a generous layer of Raspberry Jam...

The future of Marks and Spencer
Advantages: well established well known Store of Great Britain, good exotic food range
Disadvantages: needs to modernise, quality is failingon clothing, losing profits (and customers...)
...[This is an opinion on the future of M&S Today from an economic/business strength ]
One of UK’s most well known Stores has been in troubled waters since the last few years it has steadily been losing profits and customers. M&S had always been associated with a mark of quality and good clothing for the majority of Great Britain. With the changing times...suddenly M&S was left behind.
M&S has drastically been trying to cut costs, it has sadly cancelled contracts with British suppliers in knitwear, lace, underwear etc, and now most of its goods are made in Israel, Romania, Turkey, India, Pakistan (which is not necessarily a bad thing but to cut costs they are taking a more lenient approach to QC) with very little UK manufacture - which seems to be true of most trades not just clothing, like cars for example!!
Gone were...

Mighty Marks and Super Spencers
Advantages: Great value for money
Disadvantages: lack of specialist foods in smaller stores
...Well Marks super Marks and Sparks, sounds like the start of a football chant! well onto the point in question. Marks and Spencer food.
I shop in Marks and Spencers fairly reguarlly but not for a weekly shop (if only my boss would give me a pay rise)
I find many of the prices competitive and in most cases the products are better than well known brands.
For example I bought a multi 12 pack of crisps from Marks for £1.59 and for the same amount of packets from a leading crisp manufacturer they would have set me back £1.75. I hear you saying that 16p is a small amount but total up the amount of 16p's you could be saving and it all makes sense and plus the quality of flavours are much better by far.
I do agree that not all Marks and Sparks products are amazing but the large majority are.
They stock most of the main line...

Marks and Spencer Madrid... Not for long
Advantages: Nice presentation, pretty store
Disadvantages: Expensive, bad clothes, needs more food
...Only opened recently in Spain, the Marks and Spencer stores were expected to be great and fantastic, and it was a bit of a disappointment to the people when the stores opened.
They found high quality, boring, very english goods for sale at some absolutely ridiculous prices. Most of the clothes stocked are good enough to make you be sick.
The shop, however, just like the one in Bilbao, is very well laid out. However, they are all full of 'giris' - or tourists. But they are very nice, looking quite royal - a bit like a top London store, with marble floors, a lot of glass and wooden fittings.
The Bilbao store is three stories high. It cost some 125,000,000 pesetas to build the shop. As always happens with M&S stores, however, the place is full of naff clothes, which are hated by the natives.
The food in M&S Spain is very good...

Marks and Spencer no longer my favourite
Advantages: No quibble returns
Disadvantages: A retailer that has lost its way
...My earliest memory of Marks and Spencer goes back to when I was about 5 years old. I remember trips into the city centre, and as a treat was rewarded with wonderful crisps. At that time I didn’t realise it was Marks and Spencers food hall – I just knew it was something special.
That was 30 years ago, and unfortunately M&S no longer has the same appeal for me. As I grew up into adulthood, and found myself with a very busy lifestyle, I relied on M&S for my clothes. I appreciated the quality at reasonable prices. True, M&S cost more than many of the high street stores, BUT I did think it was worth it. Having little time for shopping, I certainly appreciated the fact that you could take items back without a quibble. I often bought a selection of clothes to try on at my leisure. This met my needs. Okay, I was irritated...

Marks and Spencers Highball
Advantages: Great refreshing, tasty, fruity summer cooler
Disadvantages: Too much can get you a bit tipsy as it has a kick to it
...I purchased some Marks and Spencers Highball Rum Pineapple and Lime alcopop cocktail last week to try something different and I have found it a great experience.

In all M&S Stores where this is sold as it is Marks and Spencers made alcopop cocktail, this comes in a white slightly frosted bottle with a orange and green label saying HIGHBALL Rum, Pineapple and Lime and is sold in bottle quantities of 770ml.

Top Marks for Food to Go..
Advantages: Great selection, top quality..
Disadvantages: ..except carton - yuck!
...*I could find nowhere better to put my opinion - this will have to do!*
I was looking around Ciao recently and was amazed to find that I could not find, wherever I looked, an opinion on Marks & Spencer Food to Go. Food to Go is the new name for its sandwiches and general snacks – the ones that workers buy for lunch.
If you’ve ever entered a Marks & Spencer store at around 1pm on Monday lunchtime, you will see hundreds of people wearing smart suits all crowding round one particular part of the store. That part, of course, is the Marks & Spencer Sandwich Store.. bliss!
Competitors..
Other stores, such as Boots and WHSmith are all trying to take some of Marks’ business, but are failing. You see, Marks & Spencer is the king of two things – sandwiches and ladies underwear, and there’s nothing that...
