Visit Disneyland Paris on a Budget

Advantages: Low price for area, free shuttle service, adequate rooms
Disadvantages: No children's facilities or pool, inflated food and drink prices

...for. ★ Arrival / Checking In ★ Fortunately, it transpired that the free Disney shuttle bus service DOES run from the train station to the hotel so that was a big relief. Outside the station, Marne la Vallee Chessy, there's a bus stop on the opposite side of the road to the exit where a number 54 Disney shuttle bus collects and drops off Disney customers staying at the four budget hotels: "Dream Castle", "Explorers", "Holiday Inn" and "Kyriad". You do not have to activate your Disney tickets to use this service which is a relief for those not visiting the park on their day of arrival and you don't have to pay or even provide any form of identification. Presumably the reason for this is that there's not much point using these shuttles unless you're on a Disneyland holiday! There isn't much in the area besides...

Great Fun For The Kids!

Advantages: Swimming pool, complimentary breakfast, fun pirate decor, free bus.
Disadvantages: Very busy at breakfast and on bus.

...My partner and I stayed at the Thomas Cook Explorers hotel for two nights at the beginning of this month. I won a trip to Disneyland Paris in a competition held by Thomas Cook so in this review I regret I am unable to comment on prices, however I intend to give my opinion of all aspects of our stay at the hotel. Upon arriving at Marne la Vallee station on the Eurostar, we found several bus stops outside for the various hotels surrounding Disney. We spent a good 10 minutes trying to locate the right bus stop for the free shuttle bus to the Explorers hotel, but the station staff were very helpful. The bus stop is in fact the first bus stop you come to outside the station on the OTHER SIDE of the road, and it does not have a bus shelter like the others. Travelling from Ashford to Marne La Valle'e

Advantages: fairly comfy seats
Disadvantages: poor station

...I travelled from Ashford international to Marne La Valle'e the the station at Ashford there was lovely plenty of space to move around and places to get a drink or a snack before you departed i felt like i was in a airport. Arrived at Marne La Valle'e station baggage was all sorted out at disney express and taken to hotel no problems there. On the day of departure from the hotel you take your bag and check it in at luggage room then you have the rest of the time before your journey to enjoy the parks. Arrived at Marne La Valle'e station collected baggage no problems there. This is where the fun starts there is a full train full of passangers travelling back i guess well over 200 passangers and baggage were all waiting for the check in desk to open, we arrived early (approx 2 hours early)to avoid the rush. Holiday Inn Disneyland Paris *Essential info*

Advantages: Comfortable and Reasonably priced
Disadvantages: Not ideal if you want to stay out past midnight

...I stayed at the Holiday Inn with my girlfriend on a recent trip to Disneyland Paris, here's what we thought... Booking and check-in was easy with no problems but getting the card to work in the door was our first hurdle which we eventually managed to overcome, it's a quick swipe from top to bottom, take the card out and push the handle when you hear a click so I hope that helps you get in! Next the free shuttle bus which visits all the hotels outside the main complex is yellow and not pink (which goes to the Disney hotels within the complex) as a lot of travel guides state. When you come out of Marne-le-vallee station if Disneyland parks are in front of you go left towards Disney village and left round the side of the station to find the bus terminal, you want the first stop on the right hand side of the road (poorly signposted...

great value for money

Advantages: close to the action great for familys
Disadvantages: room seemed small

...The explorers hotel disneyland resort paris was exceptional. We booked our mini break from expedia and for a family of four during the febuary half term for the hotel and eurostar to marne le vaille cost £501 (hopper tickets purchased seperatly quite cheaply from ebay). We arrived at marne le valle at 11am and travelled on the free shuttle bus to the hotel which took no more than 5 minutes. On arriving the hotel we entered into the foyer/ lobby and was amazed how grand and clean it looked we couldnt check in but we could leave our luggage. The staff were more than helpfull again we jumped on to the shuttle back to the station to go and have a good time in the parks (shuttles are approxamatley every 15 minutes) we stayed in the parks till seven thirty pm and headed back to the hotel to check in and grab some dinner. Hotel Kyriad- Marne-la-Vallee

Advantages: Pleasent hotel with good connections into Disneyland
Disadvantages: Not much to eat in the hotel restaurant if your a vegetarian.

...The Hotel in Kyriad at marné la valleé is situated about half a mile from the Disneyland park itself in a little cluster of hotels in the countryside. Getting there couldn’t be easier as it is connected to both of Paris’s airports, Charles de Gaulle and Orly, by the VEA Shuttle bus (14 euros per person one way) which stops right outside the hotel on request. Guests should note that to return to the airport you have to book the VEA two days in advance at your hotel, however should you forget to do this then you cant catch it without booking at the bus stop in Disneyland. If you arrive by Eurostar then simply take the bus to the Kyriad from the Disneyland bus stop outside the station which operates every five minutes. The hotel itself is styled as a chateau of the Brie region and is most pleasant to stay in. The rooms are clean...

Childhood's End

Advantages: Pink Floyd Soundtrack, interesting film
Disadvantages: Little "action"

...Point' (1970) was a film by Michelangelo Antonioni, and that also featured some music by the Floyd, one track of which, Antonioni didn't like, since he said it was too sad, but it was re-worked in 1972, when Wright made it into the epic, "Great Gig in the Sky", from 'Dark Side of the Moon'. I bought 'More' on DVD a few years ago, and had always wanted to see 'La Vallée', just to see where the music fitted in, and so that I could say I had seen it. The distressing thing was, it is near impossible to get, there has been the odd copy on eBay for £20, and a few are on amazon.com, however they are region 1 DVD's, and on my meagre, then student, now unemployed budget - too much money. When I wrote my 'Obscured by Clouds' review though, a kind little birdie informed me that someone had uploaded it onto YouTube - so off I went and immediately began...

Advantages: Large rooms, great location close to the Disney Parks
Disadvantages: No haven for adults to escape to without their children, not even a small bar.
