Mars Planets Review
Advantages: Nice enough packaging, Nice Idea
Disadvantages: Horrid tasting, Nasty Aftertaste
...about the actual chocolate??
You get 3 different types of Mars Planets. First is the Nougat Planet. Pretty much all you were expecting this one, Mars chocolate covering a ball of their famous nougat. It tastes just like the original Mars bar did so no worries there if you already like Mars bars.
Second is the Caramel Planet. Slightly smaller in size and is just a ball of caramel encased in Mars chocolate again. Now, those 3 elements are what comprises a Mars bar right? Caramel, Nougat and of course chocolate. But then their was a third...
And lastly, a strange Malteaser planet that I do not remember ever being in a Mars bar. It would have been nice as a difference to the original Mars taste but they really dropped the ball on this one. Some strange mixture of honeycomb and Malt gone wrong. Highly recommended you stray to greener pastures...

Mars is no longer the red planet!
Advantages: Satisfies a sweettooth
Disadvantages: doesnt really taste of anything
...As many people do I went shopping but as I was at the checkout started to get a little bit peckish (something to do with it being almost 3pm and not having eated yet but anyway) beside the till is a rack of sweeties, one of the items was the new Mars Plants, and as I thought I should at least try to be healthy and not eat a whole mars bar I decided to buy them.
The packaging is in the typical Mars colours, about the size of a bag of maltesers, in one corner there is the red triangle saying New, wonder how long they'll leave that there? The main part of the pack has Mars in its usual style, but smaller than normal, below this is written Planets in reversed mars colours (the yellowish cream on top, gold then red. Below this there are pictures of the product itself, three different shades of brown with the three types of 'planet...

Off the planet!
Advantages: Nice........................
Disadvantages: but not exciting.
...I've been hearing about these Mars Planets for some time now but had until this week failed to try them, quite shocking really considering how much I enjoy my chocolate snacks especially of the Mars variety when my other half sent me off to locate a mars bar for him during our recent Asda trip I decided to treat myself too ad pick up a packet of Planets, they're lucky I chose them as they were sat right next to the Malteasers, they very nearly didn't make it.
Mars Planets-
Mars planets, naturally from the mars range, come in the same colour packing as it's cousin the Mars bar, distinctive in black with cream and red writing it is very eye catching, the main difference of course here is that the packaging is more similar in shape to another Mars product I mentioned earlier- Malteasers. Obviously with the planets being little balls...

What planet were they on whey they thought this was a good idea?
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Everything
...When it comes to chocolate, there's not much that I won't eat or enjoy especially at this time of year. However after just inhaling a bag of Mars Planets at the speed of knots, I have for the first time in years come to the conclusion that I did not enjoy this offering from Mars. This came as such a shock because a) I love chocolate and b) I love Mars Bars. I thought that Mars Planets were effectively all of the best parts of a mars bar in smaller malteser shaped balls. How wrong could I be?
Packaging:
The overall design of the packaging is very similar to that of a traditional Mars bar. The bag is similar to that of a regular sized bag of maltesers but comes in the distinctive black colour that Mars are renowned for. The majority of the bag is taken up with a large logo saying the words 'Mars Planets'. Underneath that there are three...

Will these take you to another Planet?
Advantages: Not sickly
Disadvantages: Not as nice as a Mars Bar!
...Chewy ones, crispy ones, soft ones . . It's MARS, but not as you know it!
I saw these in Woolworths as I was queuing, I love Mars bars, so thought I would give these a try. The name of them also was quite catchy & sounded interesting too. I paid about 40p - 50p fr a bag of these.
What are Mars Planets?
They are chocolate balls, with different centres. They are different sizes. The Large size is about the size of a Malteaser and is filled with soft nougat which you get in a Mars Bar. The medium size is about the size of a poppet (sweet) and is crispy (a bit like a biscuit). The last is a bit larger than a pea and has chewy toffee in the centre. Each ball is covered in a layer of milk chocolate. They are made by the same company who make Mars Bars (MasterFoods).
Packaging
These come in a plastic packet (like maltesers). It is...

Not as nice as a mars bar !
Advantages: They have chocolate in !
Disadvantages: Not as nice as a mars bar !
...I like mars so when i saw these chocolates with the mars sign on i thought i would try them .
I paid 40p for a 37g bag from my local newsagents but you can buy them from supermarkets and other shops.
~ What are mars planets ~
They are round like maltesers but there are three different types.
Soft -this has soft nougat in like what you get in a mars bar , i enjoyed this , tastes nice and melts easily in your mouth .
Chewy -This looks like a malteser but is smaller in size, this has yummy toffee in , but does tend to stick to your teeth.
Crispy - This is the size of a malteser but i didn,t like this chocolate inside this, it didn,t really taste of anything , and it definately didn,t taste like a mars bar or anything you get in it .
~ My opinion ~
I expected these to taste better than they actually did they were ok...

MARS - But not as we like it
Advantages: They satisfy a sweet craving
Disadvantages: They taste nowhere near as good as Mars bars
...Impulse buy
I was paying for petrol at the garage last night and next to the till was a massive bucket full of these new sweets. I've been seeing adverts for them everywhere so I thought I'd give them a whirl.
How different are they?
There are three different types of Mars Planets in the same packet. The first one I tried was chewy, much like the caramel layer of a traditional Mars bar. At first I thought it was okay, but it was really very sweet and quite sickly.
The second type of sweet I tasted looked like the first one from the outside but this one was flavoured like the bottom layer of the traditional mars bar. I liked these and could have eaten a whole packet of them, without the others mixed in.
There was a third sweet left to try. This one was a little strange and it is hard to give an example of how it felt...

Not so out of this world...
Advantages: Found all flavours tasty
Disadvantages: Less exciting than expected
...Although Mars Planets have been around for a good few months now, I have never had any particular urge to try them, however this week I came across a pack from a Mars selection box left over from christmas and thought why the heck not!
Mars Planets are made by the company who make Mars bars so these little babies have a lot to live up to.
The Mars selection box cost around £3.99 and contained 8 other Mars chocolate bars, which for me is good value for money. If you were to buy a single 37g pack of Mars Planets it would cost around 40-50p, which again seems to me good value for money.
The idea of the product is that there are 3 different flavours - crunchy, soft and chewy. They are all similar sized milk chocolate balls but the insides are different and you don't know which one you are getting until you put it in your mouth...

The Mighty Mars Bar
Advantages: Classic chocolate bar
Disadvantages: They changed the nougat filling
...cute tiny Mars Bars
*Mars Delight - A complete change from the original and I have to admit, it pips the classic for me. Smooth chocolate, crisp wafer, soft caramel and creamy centre. Nope I'm not practising an ad campain - this is what it is and simply DIVINE.
*Mars Ice cream - Absoutley delicious. The caramel is really soft and sweet adding flavour to the vanilla ice cream and creamy milk chocolate
*Mars Planets - These are basically balls with either a caramel, nougat or crispy filling. Stick the whole pack in your mouth (you don't get many) and you've bascially got yourself a crispier Mars Bar. Nothing special in my opinion
*Mars Midnight - Limited edition that isn't avaiable anymore, either as a bar or ice cream. Basically, Mars covered in Dark choc. All that's left now is to make a White chocolate version!
*Mars egg - available...

Mars in a bottle?
Advantages: Energy, Easy to drink, Smooth
Disadvantages: Weak Taste, high price
...I bought a bottle of yet another energy drink today, this time a bottle of Mars Refuel, I had intended to drink this during the afternoon yesterday but felt a bit of heart burn and an icky stomach for the vast part of the afternoon-cum-evening, when it comes to a bad stomach something I stay away from is a milky drink such as this so I've kept it. Now with Murray playing Gulbis in the US Open and unable to sleep anyway it seems the perfect chance to review this and cheer on the world number 2 and probably the greatest Scottish tennis player of all time.
The huge confectionery company Mars, arguably the chocolate version of Coca-Cola, have gone into the drinks industry with this energy drink. Now when talking about energy drinks we usually refer to Isotonic drinks (Powerade, Gatorade and Lucuzade Sport) which replenish the body via...
