...MARIE - CLAIRE I used to buy this magazine in my twenties, but then stopped. I now only read it at the hairdressers. This is why: ***WHAT DOES IT OFFER?*** Marie-Claire is a fashion magazine with special interest articles aimed at women. It's motto is "Fashion With Heart" and it is priced at £3.30. This month's issue (Jan) has 244 pages, plus a 32 page special about hair at the back (confusingly upside down). It has an expensive glossy feel to it with heavy quality pages. However a rough estimation tells me that over 50% of it's content is ads!!. In fact, I leaf through 8 pages of ads before I even get to the editorial. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. ...DVD player controls, the aim of the game is to help Uncle Albert come down from the ceiling following a laughing fit. Mary Poppins' umbrella asks you questions and you select an item from Uncle Albert's room that answers the question. It is quite easy and interesting to see how much attention you paid when watching. When you get an answer right Uncle Albert comes down a bit but if you get one wrong he moves towards the ceiling. I imagine children would enjoy doing it after watching the film. The variety of questions is small but as bonus material, its lots of fun and unique to the usual bonus stuff on DVDs. *** Tuppence A Bag? *** It's currently available from Amazon for £11.95. Play.com (free P&P) are selling the 40th Anniversary Edition for £15.99 - not as cheap as films as old as this but still reasonable and well worth it...

Advantages: Perfect example of a great championship stadium with a great level of football!

...I am not personally a Southampton fan (and nor am I a Portsmouth fan), I actually support Southend United, but I recently moved down to this area and many of my friends support Southampton. Last Friday I was asked by my fiend, who is an avid Saints fan if I wanted to go with him to watch them play at home in a friendly against Celtic and so I said yes. It was a great match and despite Celtic winning 2-0 the atmosphere was great and I really enjoyed myself. I have now visited many different stadiums in my time from very small league 2 team grounds, some with standing sections and the great Nou Camp which I recently reviewed.
