PS3 slim

Advantages: Blu-ray, free online, nice extras like vidzone & iplayer. Almost silent operation
Disadvantages: Rubbish controller, still expensive, online nowhere near as good as xbox live

...Well, had the slim for a few weeks now (my 1st ever playstation), personally, I'm a little underwhelmed by it, I've been a gamer since the nintendo game & watch days & owned @ least 1 of the current gen consoles since the Mega Drive(Genesis). Graphically the system has the potential to wipe the floor with the 360, but this is really only going to apply to PS3 exclusives as any software house making a multi-platform game is going to be as cost effective (lazy) as possible & use the same graphics on all the games where possible(ok, they need to dumb them down for the Wii). My problem here is that I have yet to get a game for it that runs in 1080P, they all seem to be in 720P! Why???? I'm sure they are out there, but I haven't found one yet. I guess this is down to most HD tv's being HD ready rather than Full HD. Sound-Yeah, ok...

Part 3 of my juicy DVD saga - The Matrix

Advantages: Great Film, good acting

...Hi people, You have just come across part three of my DVD saga. I have chosen another top film to review, which has to be the Matrix. The first time I watched this film was quite a long time ago but I have seen it over and over and not got bored. There again I am the sort of person that never gets bored of films I really adore. This film has to be one of my all time favourite Sci-Fi films including Star Wars and Fifth Element. Being quite a recent film it is packed full of special effects being explosions and so on. When you are watching the first part of the film you won't have a clue what is going on. Well see if you understand people disappearing in phone boxes the first time you watch this. I think this not having a clue kept me very intrigued and as the story spanned on all became obvious and made perfect sense even...

Morpheus shows Neo a world he couldn't possible imagine, and learns that he may the key to saving it. If you went back to 1999 and asked people the film they most want to see that year, hardly anyone would've said this film. This, of course, was the year of the first Star Wars prequel and the hype machine was in overdrive, and so The Matrix got relatively overlooked. But it's so much better than the phantom menace it's hard to see what everyone was so excited about back then. This film came out at the perfect time. ...? instalment in the ?Matrix? trio. It was in my second year as a 3D effects animation student that the original ?Matrix? came out and, unfortunately, I never made it to the cinema to see it. Not so with it?s highly anticipated sequel (sorry, I don?t subscribe to the trilogy ethic), I was determined to go and go I did, after trying but failing to sidestep all the hype, trailers, sneak previews etc, which in my opinion can be detrimental to the impact of a movie, and were in this case. The matrix

Advantages: great acting, great soundtrack
Disadvantages: 3 is two to many

...I have to admit The Matrix is not really my kind of film, this was a present I bought for my hubby last year and he loves it. I paid £29.99 from play.com and it was worth every penny. You can get it much cheaper on ebay now but hey it's a year on. I'm not a big sci fi fan but I don't mind The Matrix, I like the sound track, I like Laurence Fishburne, and I like agent Smith, but for me the story is a little far fetched. Any way, enough of my likes and dislikes on with the review. The acting is brilliant in these films, all the characters are strong and the actors play them perfectly. Keanu shaved his head, vomited and had sex scenes. Fishburne, is shot at, beaten up, happy, sad and dumfounded. Everything is done perfectly. This is the 3 DVD Matrix box set. This means you get The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix...

...This movies in my opinion is by far the best film of 1999. I think now I have watched it about 7 times and I still see things I didnt see before. The story was just fantastic which showed great imagination. The Acting was also superb, It was a true pleasure to watch. And the Action ... it just didnt stop, it really had me on the edge of my seat. The thing that really made this movie was the excellent special effects, some of the best I have seen. I really hope there will be a Matrix 2, and I never say that about films, normally I dont even watch them....
