Cheap and Cheerful
Review of Matsui 110 by
ccaadaw
Advantages: Excellent value for money
Disadvantages: No extra features, such Video CD capability
...Although Matsui's DVD player may well be at the bottom of the price range, it most certainly isn't at the same level for quality. I have had mine since it first came on to the market and haven't had any problems whatsoever. It can be chipped to play multi region DVDs by a series of commands from the remote control, and can handle playing these without any hastle.
I have watched DVDs on other models such as a Samsung, and I am yet to find any better quality of picture or sound. OK, the more expensive models have extra features, but for a low cost and for someone who is just after a straight foward DVD player, no frills, then the Matsui is my first choice. Cheap and Cheerful....

Cheap, But Good
Review of Matsui Mission M 196 T Microwave by
Mission
Advantages: High Wattage (900)
Disadvantages: Slightly noisy
...I initialy bought this model because it was cheap (£89.99p) and I needed one quickly after the demise of my Sharp Microwave (600 watt).
My first impression of this model was how powerful it was compared to the Sharp. Scambled Eggs are cooked to perfection in only two mins compared to four mins in the Sharp. The controls are fairly simple, after you get used to them and the manual is very comprehensive. The only down side of the Matsui is that it is fairly noisy in operation, but that is only a small point taking into consideration the amount of time it is in use. Overall a very good aplliance for not a lot of money....

Rubbish!
Review of Matsui 32LW507 by
PeterMorris
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Terrible picture
...I bought one for 430 quid from Currys. Lots of ghosting on screen and the picture "wobbled" when I put my DVD player on so I exchanged it.
The next one also had ghosting. I created a simple red green blue testcard image on my PC and viewed it on my DVD player, the TV showed a yellow bar between the red and green!
I took it back to the shop and got a refund! The guy who carries the stuff in and out of the shop told me that Matsui TVs are brought back very often. Two more employees both immediately said "Was it a Matsui by any chance?" when I described my experience as I looked at the other TVs.
I would advise keeping away from this TV!
PS: If you are LCD TV ignorant like myself be aware that shops always show high definition video on the display tv's. If you want an idea of how it will really look when you get it home ask them...

A mere woman converted EXCELLENT
Review of Pioneer DV-525 by
sue
Advantages: Beats video by far
Disadvantages: None
...This player is outstanding it has converted me a mere woman to the benefits of DVD & suround sound TV.
I had always tolerated my husbands need for the best TV & audio equipment, but this got me watching James Bond, I hate James Bond, just for the effects and the picture quality.
We started with a Matsui DVD within a week the DVD player was faulty and exchanged. We then changed one DVD 7 times because it played most other DVD's ok we thought it was the DVD not the player. When the store got fed up of changing the DVD we took the DVD to a local TV & audio shop and asked them to check the DVD it played on all there DVD players.
The Matsui DVD player was returned again checked instore and found to be faulty again.
We paid the extra and got the PIONEER DV-525 it plays every DVD the picture quality is excellent as is the sound. Having...

Not quite so digital!!!!!
Review of Matsui 28DW01 by
Stella.Dave
Advantages: More channels to play with (yes you can get channel 5!)
Disadvantages: No interactive services or onrequest films
...We purchased our digital TV after seeing an advert in the national papers. £299.00 for a 28" digital tv. with all the primary channels for just £1.00 per month subsciption, sounds to good to be true. So where is the catch? Thats what we thought, so, off we went to Currys to be told there is no catch, The tv. is comparable to the more expensive Grundig version. Fantastic! we thought and purchased one. Now it has been in use for 3 months we find we can not join in with any interactive programmes or games. Ondigital wrote to us offering an "onrequest film" for an offer price, fantastic we thought, phoned them up to book our slot, got all prepared for the big moment, tuned into the correct channel at the allotted time and.....nothing! it turns out Matsui don't have the technology at present for their sets to be interactive and won't have...

Cheap and good
Review of Matsui CD18 by
WAD1-2-3
Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -
...I have had one of these CD players for quite a few years now. Although, I would say it is very basic it has been very reliable and has worked well and continues to do so. It only cost me about £28 and I have never had any problem with it.
The best word to describe the Matsui CD18 is that it is very basic perfect for students who live in Halls. The sound quality is really good and you get a cd/tape and radio functions which is all you basically means.
However, you get no gimmicks like remote control and there’s no Longwave on the radio settings but you can learn to live without it. The speakers aren’t the best looking but the sound quality is good and they don’t crackle like some speakers if you put a song on full blast.
To put a CD in you have to lift the CD bit and it doesn’t even have a repeat mode...

Review of Matsui VDVD500 by

Advantages: Very light, good features for the price, above average picture and sound quality. Very reliable
Disadvantages: Cheap solution to the DVD/VCR, Does what is say on the tin
...I bought this product from Bargain Madness for the unbelievable price of £89.99. My 2 year old daughter has stuffed chip packets, dry dog food, bank cards and flowers into the vhs flap and it still works fine which amazed even me.

Long PAL - Doubles recording capacity
Long Play - Doubles recording capacity
Real time tape Counter - for easy UK
DVD Zoom - Don't miss the action
Parental control

Super Video CD / Video CD Playback: Yes
This Matsui product offers good quality at a very reasonable price. I have yet to be let down by a Matsui product
It does all the basic functions easily enough, putting VHS tape in and DVD disc...
