Rubbish!
Review of Matsui 32LW507 by
PeterMorris
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Terrible picture
...I bought one for 430 quid from Currys. Lots of ghosting on screen and the picture "wobbled" when I put my DVD player on so I exchanged it.
The next one also had ghosting. I created a simple red green blue testcard image on my PC and viewed it on my DVD player, the TV showed a yellow bar between the red and green!
I took it back to the shop and got a refund! The guy who carries the stuff in and out of the shop told me that Matsui TVs are brought back very often. Two more employees both immediately said "Was it a Matsui by any chance?" when I described my experience as I looked at the other TVs.
I would advise keeping away from this TV!
PS: If you are LCD TV ignorant like myself be aware that shops always show high definition video on the display tv's. If you want an idea of how it will really look when you get it home ask them...

High price to pay for poor quality
Review of Matsui CD11 by
Kingkarliii
Advantages: small and light
Disadvantages: Rubbish antenna and cuts out if played too loud
...We, being my partner and I decided that we wanted a little CD Player for the kitchen, that was not too expensive. So we done our usual routine of shop hunting and catalogue checking. After much deliberation we decided to go for the Matsui CD11.
***Shape & Style***
It is a rounded bubbly-looking silver/grey CD player, with two black speakers built in, one on each side. With Matsui clearly stamped on the front. the CD. The CD tray is on the top and has to be manually opened. thereis a LCD screen on top as well that just displays the track number you are playing
***Features***
This CD player ghas all the basic buttons, play/pause, stop,skip/FFW, skipback/REW and repeat button. As well as this it has two dials, one on either side. The first one on the left is the volume control and the one on the right is the radio tuner. There is also...

Matsui 14" Portable TV
Review of Matsui 1420 by
skrg28
Advantages: Cheap and it works
Disadvantages: Looks
...A while back I was looking for a small portable TV which I could stick in my spare bedroom for guests and more so to use with my PS2.
After looking at a few I decided that a cheap TV would do the job and so arrived at the Matsui 14" Portable TV. This particular one is a 1420 T.
I bought it for £60, more than enough to spend bearing in mind the usage it was going to get.
The TV is the usual black plastic with vents all over the place. The plastic quality is far from great as you would expect but it is sufficient and looks reasonable enough.
The screen is 14" which I think is about 34cm and runs at 50MHz, not the biggest or fastest but suitable for a portable without paying silly money for an LCD. In fact the screen is not even flat.
Picture quality is surprisingly good on the TV with good colour definition and plenty of different...

Naiko NLCD190
Review of Naiko NLCD190 by
hugo_a_gogo
Advantages: Asthetically pleasing
Disadvantages: Average sound quality
...19" widescreen LCD TV
Paid £186 from Makro (inc VAT)
Black with black stand
1 x SCART
1 x D-Sub 15
1 x S-VHS
1 x audio input (L, R and video - cable included)
1 x RF (standard roof top ariel input)
1 x 12V power input via transformer and 3 pin kettle lead
1 x remote control
2 x AAA batteries
Couldn't find any info about Naiko anywhere in the www, except for Naiko Ltd, who merely imported Naiko products into the UK.
I asked about Naiko's dead pixel policy, only to be told they don't have one, and to simply return the TV to the shop where I purchased it within the first 12 months, quote "we're a simple company" unquote was the reply when I stated all other manufacturers have one.
Picture quality via a freeview STB and portable table top ariel is acceptable, considering the 8ms pixel response, 500:1 contrast ratio and 300cdm2 brightness...

Good performing TV/DVD combo
Review of Matsui TVDVD1410 by
GriffMedia
Advantages: reliability, picture quality, DVD player
Disadvantages: very poor remote control
...Our bedroom TV/DVD and it is an admirable performer. 4:3 aspect ratio CRT screen, teletext and remote control. It does what you would expect and does it well.
Curry's own brand but completely reliable with a good picture. we use it with the indoor aerial it came with which is good enough to pick up a strong enough signal for a Freeview box.
Just 1 Scart on the back but it does have AV and headphone connections on the front.
The remote control is it's weak spot, it's too bulky and yet the controls are fiddly, especially the volume control which are two small buttons in the bottom third of the remote. the DVD controls double up with the teletext controls and are not logically laid out.
If it wasn't for the remote control i would have given this an excellent rating. I know its not a LCD flat screen but if you are looking for a good...

COAST TO COAST COVERAGE -PACIFIC TELEVISION
Review of Pacific 7016 by
Puma1000
Advantages: Very cheap, large, easy to setup.
Disadvantages: Not LCD flatscreen.
...--- OVERVIEW ---
With the ongoing revolution in home cinema my Uncle had asked me about purchasing a new TV. He had bought a substantial DVD collection, but didn't have a large widescreen to view them on. Sticking to a low budget he wanted nothing over £250, which doesn't give you much choice if you've seen the prices of TV's lately. I set about looking in different stores, first Dixons then Currys and Comet, onto Makro before ending up in ASDA.
--- PRICE ---
Yep ASDA always have advertised on the basis of their low prices and in store was a 28" Pacific widescreen television for £189.82 a very satisfactory price indeed. When looking in Dixons and the like, Matsui's and Alba's were around £199 upwards.
--- QUALITY ---
The picture quality is superb, but obviously not up to the level of a LCD screen which are starting to get very...

Matsui 8" Portable DVD Player - not bad
Review of Matsui PL 800 by
IzzyS
Advantages: Good screen and unit size, nice and portable, pretty lightweight when battery isnt used
Disadvantages: Had problems with the disc tray opening (has now been fixed), battery pack heavy
...main feature it has is that it can play back Kodak Picture CDs or otherwise DVDs with .jpg photos burned on them. I have to say I haven't tested this but im not too bothered about that function personally, most DVD players offer this. If I want to look at my photos, their all on my digital camera which has a large enough LCD screen, so I'm not sure if I'd ever really want to make use of this particular feature.
Oh and also, I tried the car adapter and managed to get it to play in my car pretty quickly, so that seems to work ok. The mains adapter works absolutely fine, though it would be good if it was a bit longer as I've tried to plug it in, in my room and watch it in bed when I wasn't well but it was very awkward to set that up, I had to pull the extension over a bit. The battery pack takes quite a long time to charge and doesn't last...

Cheap and Cheerful
Review of Matsui 110 by
ccaadaw
Advantages: Excellent value for money
Disadvantages: No extra features, such Video CD capability
...Although Matsui's DVD player may well be at the bottom of the price range, it most certainly isn't at the same level for quality. I have had mine since it first came on to the market and haven't had any problems whatsoever. It can be chipped to play multi region DVDs by a series of commands from the remote control, and can handle playing these without any hastle.
I have watched DVDs on other models such as a Samsung, and I am yet to find any better quality of picture or sound. OK, the more expensive models have extra features, but for a low cost and for someone who is just after a straight foward DVD player, no frills, then the Matsui is my first choice. Cheap and Cheerful....

Amazing Quality, Definately Consider.
Review of Phocus LCD 27 HDM by
rokmysox
Advantages: Looks awesome, fantastic picture and sound, good features and well designed.
Disadvantages: Would probably look better in glossy black, and a better quality remote would be nice.
...Before this TV, I had a 15" Matsui TV/VCR, but it was old and had a lot of use and was starting to show. So after much looking I found this, it was one of the cheapest 27" LCD TVs around, plus it was HD ready which was what I wanted as I was planning to buy a PS3 in the future.
So around 2 years ago I went ahead and bought it, all I can say is I've not had one single regret. Picture quality is amazing, as good as the picture on our 42" Panasonic Viera.
It has pleanty of inputs too:
2x scart inputs
1x RGB input
1x S-video input
1x Component
1x HDMI
1x VGA (For Computer)
1x 3.5mm Audio In For PC
1x Phono In
1x Phono Out (Great for connecting to Amp/Surround Sound)
1x RF In
1x Digital Out
All of the connections are placed so thatnone of them stick out the back, meaning that if you want to use a wall mount, it can go really flat against...

Cheap, But Good
Review of Matsui Mission M 196 T Microwave by
Mission
Advantages: High Wattage (900)
Disadvantages: Slightly noisy
...I initialy bought this model because it was cheap (£89.99p) and I needed one quickly after the demise of my Sharp Microwave (600 watt).
My first impression of this model was how powerful it was compared to the Sharp. Scambled Eggs are cooked to perfection in only two mins compared to four mins in the Sharp. The controls are fairly simple, after you get used to them and the manual is very comprehensive. The only down side of the Matsui is that it is fairly noisy in operation, but that is only a small point taking into consideration the amount of time it is in use. Overall a very good aplliance for not a lot of money....
