...We needed a new mattress. We had a pocket sprung turnable mattress that was a few years old, but I knew it was time for a change because I got up every day with back and shoulder ache. I wanted to try a memory foam mattress, because the springs just didn't seem comfortable for me, and I'd read great things about good quality memory foam.
Which? magazine has done a few tests on mattresses, and the Healthbeds Memoryflex has won it more than once. In face I contacted Healthbeds via their website, and they sent me a copy of the Which? report (well, you would wouldn't you?!) and that helped us take the plunge.
So once I'd found the double mattress via Quidco for £380, I thought it was worth a gamble - and it has been.
This is the comfiest mattress I've ever slept on, without doubt. I can sleep through the night now, and get up...

...My baby needed the safest mattress I could find - yet non of the mattresses I looked at offered me what I preceived as safe. Some were breathable, have you tried actually breating through them, very different from what I think is breathable. Anti alergy and dust mite repellant, no-one could convince me; hygeinic some were partly washable so some of the mattress would be clean; could I get a mattress with no chemical to make it fire retardant - no; could I use the mattress for my next baby and fell confident it was still OK - no I was told "new baby new mattress" why I asked, I found out the reason was that the mattresses over time build up all sorts of moulds and fungi as well as millions of house dust mites so I was ten expect to spend another £100 plus for my next baby.

The following day dad said his back and shoulders hurt him so bad that he was going to buy a camping mattress to sleep on as he couldn't stand another six nights of torture on the floor(he does exaggerate). That morning we all traipsed out in the car again for another hour, to find a camping shop. It wasn't very big and there wasn't great deal to choose from in the way of mattresses, but we found one we liked the look of, and the picture on the box made it look like it would be very comfortable once it was inflated.
The particular one we bought was a Coleman raised quick bed large single mattress. It was reduced from £42.99 to £34.99 but dad needed to buy a pump to get it to inflate...

We heard nothing for several weeks, then I got text to confirm delivery on certain date. That morning, after time taken off work, they rang informing it was "out of stock"!
Re-delivery arranged. Husband due to be working locally so gave Customer Services his details stating that all calls, must be directed to him. On that morning, I received a call, saying our mattress had been "lost", therefore wouldn't be arriving. Husband later received call from the driver at our house but no-one home! My husband informed the driver that Bensons had cancelled but could be there in 20 minutes. Driver wouldn't wait.
Re-delivery arranged, but when I rang to confirm nothing on system. "Re-ordered" but had to write to find out what happening. Promised new mattress 3...

...I purchased a Simmons indulgence mattress from this online company. I needed a new mattress and wanted a decent one for a good price. It took me a while to save up, but because I always previously looked at price instead of quality I'd ended up with uncomfortable mattresses. I would recommend that everyone looks for good quality rather then cheapest prices, you feel a lot healthier after a good nights sleep.
Searching for the best mattress online and in the shops was a lot more diffcult then I thought it would be! There is so many to choose from with so many different options; memory foam, lambswool, silk, dimask, cotton, visco, latex, how many springs.....it gives you a headache!!
This company had a Simmons Indulgence 1400 mattress on special offer and it caught my eye. I checked prices elsewhere and this was the best offer around...

...We bought the Healthbeds Memory Flex mattress (king-size version) as a replacement for an old sprung mattress. We'd been trying out some Tempur mattresses in shops, and liked them but found we sank into them a little too much for our likings.
We found a Which report from I think Oct 06 (http://www.mattressmaster.com/images/HealthBeds%20Which%20Report.pdf) where this mattress came out as the best in test, and that it was slightly firmer than the Tempur mattresses, more durable, and about half the price.
The mattress itself is several cm of memory foam on top of a layer of normal foam, all wrapped in a zip-on mattress protector (a high-tech breathable fabric related to Coolmax I think).
We have had it for 4 weeks now. My selection in the compulsory box for Durability is Average but I really can't comment in this short time...

I bought this Silentnight Mattress about nine months ago from a catalogue as a replacement for a mattress that came with a bed and was rubbish! The mattress is available in single, double, king size and super king. Prices start from around £200 for the single, I bought the double for £265 but I've just checked and the price is now £289! So not a cheap mattress and the most expensive one I have ever bought but after putting up with such an uncomfortable mattress for over a year enough was enough and I thought we deserved a treat and a good nights sleep!
As I mentioned the mattress is a double so 4 foot 6 inches wide and the depth is 26.5cm, I was quite suprised at the depth, it makes my bed look much bigger! Some fitted sheets however are not quite deep enough to cover it properly...
