...' UFC 2009 Undisputed ' is the newest game based on the fastest growing sport in the world MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). After downloading the demo from the Playstation store, disliking the game and branding it as an all out button basher, I deleted it. However, this was only my experience of playing the compuer. I tried the demo again at a friends house and thought it was brilliant when you play someone else. So I decided to download the demo again. This time round fighting the computer was more fun for some reason, so I bought the real game. Gameplay The gameplay is excellent. One of the most frustrating things about these types of game is when you can't move or face the way you want, but this isn't a problem in UFC 2009 Undisputed. Virtua Tennis 2009

Advantages: Mini-games, Trophy Collecting Opportunity

...I've always preferred the more Arcade-ish Virtua Tennis to the more tennis sim game Top Spin, so when Virtua Tennis 2009 was released I bought it on the release date. - Gameplay - The gameplay is virtually identical to the original Virtua Tennis, with the main change being instead if diving for a shot just out of reach - you now stumble at it. There is no flat shot, which leaves with only slice, top spin or lob - which is a bit disappointing. It's very easy to get the hang of the game, as all you have to do is either use the directional buttons or the analogue stick to get you to the ball then press one of the action buttons to hit it. You don't have to get your timing perfect or anywhere near it, but if you do you will play a better show. - Graphics - The graphics in this game are shocking...

And The Winner Of American Idol 2009 Is...

Advantages: Fantastic talent, Usually the Top 12 are all fantastic
Disadvantages: None really, some of the auditionees are pure awful.

The Beano Annual 2009

Advantages: Still got the classsical Beano characters, it only cost me 97p

...I was on Amazon recently and needed to buy an extra little something to make my order to over £5 so that I could get free delivery, I saw ?The Beano Annual 2009? for 97p so I decided to get it! I used to be in the Beano club when I was younger, and had a subscription to the Beano magazine. I have to say though that I haven?t read a beano in about 15 years! I was quite intrigued to see if Beano had changed at all since I had read it last. The annual is a hardback book, which is around A4 size. On the front cover is a picture of Dennis the Menace and Gnasher reeking havoc on Beano town, along with some Beano Town residents either cheering them on or booing. When you open the book, I quite liked the designs used on the inside of the cover on the back and front. They have pencil drawn sketches of the characters in different stages...

...in your choice of hair they seem to have decided to only provide hair that the current fighters on UFC have, so you cannot stylise your fighter exactly as you look if you do not share a hairstyle with a famous UFC fighter, mostly shaven styles, so if your someone like me with long curly hair youll have to get creative with your fighter. When you start off with UFC 2009 your going to want to go straight into a fight, but the tutorial is there first to help you learn the controls of your fighter. The Game The game offers you the opportunity to take part in varying types of game. There are exhibition games, which can be of varying durations, between different teams. There are also a number of scenarios that you can tackle to unlock further scenarios. One example is the first England scenario, whcih is to survive five overs of spin bowling in a 20-20 context. The one other mode is Ashes Mode. Funnily enough this allows you to play the current Ashes series between England and Australia at Cardiff, Lords, Edgbaston, Headingley and The Oval. Advantages: Realistic, Good graphics, Various fighting styles.
Disadvantages: Limited in game fighters

...You may expect this game to follow suit with the various WWF or WWE games that have produced in the past for a number of consoles, however in my opinion, UFC 2009 Undisputed breaks the typical button mashing syle fighter game. Firstly, in terms of gameplay, unlike other games UFC invites you as the player to select your fighter's key attributes but does not then limit your point distribution to specific skills. For example you can select kick boxing as a key fighting style but then distribute points to ground technique, therefore in my eyes, to really compete and be the best with this game it requires logic and thought! From my experience of playing this game you have to match up your point distribution to the fighting styles selected and ensure that you develop your fighter realisitcally or you'll find that you can't perfrom...

The game makes use of all four shoulder buttons to launch special attacks and blows to the body as well as to block the head or body. You may think that due to this the controls are complex but in no time you will find yourself dealing out deadly combinations and knocking guys out left right and centre. The striking aspect to this game is better than any boxing game i've played and the versatility, brutality and visible damage of the striking sets this game apart from its rivals. MMA isn't all about striking though it's also about grappling and submissions.
