Maytag Stainless Steel dishwasher

Advantages: Quiet, large inside, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Intermittant fault that doesn't seem to be fixable, expensive

...I have had the Maytag for nearly two years now. I bought it to match with new appliances in my refitted kitchen. The machine holds a lot, more than our previous model. It was so quiet that when we first used it we didn't think it was working! It is easy to use, with lots of programmes. It has a low salt and low rinse aid indicator. It has an economy programme as well as all the usual programmes that you would expect for a top of the range dishwasher. About a year ago it suddenly started tripping the electric off and we needed to get an engineer. I bought the machine on line and I looked up Maytag and phoned them, they then arranged for a firm of engineers to send someone round. Fridge Farce!

...Well when I saw this I thought it would be interesting for those people who like nosing in other peoples fridges so here goes. My fridge is a Beko white upright fridge/freezer which my Parents gave to us when we moved house last month. The top part is the fridge and what we will concentrate on. The fridge has a green power light to the top and at the moment is set on the average setting and does not have a temperature gauge so I have no idea if this is the correct setting. On the top shelf is some mature coloured cheddar purchased from Asda at the shocking price of £2 which is more than I normally pay for a block of cheese. Round Ireland with a fridge - Book review.

...I chose to read this book solely because of the title, but was pleasantly surprised to discover the hilarious and well written memoirs of an English comedian called Tony Hawks (not the skate boarder) So what is the book about, well the clue is in the title. Tony likes to drink, so I could relate to him straight away. He also likes to make ridiculous bets once he is drunk. He wakes up one morning with the vague recollection of making a silly bet with a friend the previous evening, and is horrified to discover that he had agreed to travel the circumference of Ireland with a fridge in tow. What follows is a very funny account of his journey and the interesting people he meets along the way. It could be a very short review, as even though our fridge is usually packed full of stuff, very little of it is actually mine. ...I’m a bloke so when it comes to buying stuff I generally leave it to the wife. I’m happy buying music, books, computer games and technical stuff but when it comes to white goods I’m just not interested enough, as long as it does the job and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg I’m fine about it. That said, on my periodic inspections of the property this fridge still llooks as good as new and has worked without trouble since 1999. The only damage was my breaking the plastic part of the freezer catch a couple of years back because I tried to jam too much stuff into the box and force it shut; easily replaced.
