2003 Mazda 6 2.0 Hatchback
Advantages: Space, comfort, image and performance
Disadvantages: Check rear seat belts, road noise
...the start position. This is very serious as the belt just gets tighter and tighter and you have to take it off to release it, which is obviously dangerous if you can't stop to do it.
I had the belt changed under warranty after arguing with the dealer that it was not supposed to do that. The new belt is slightly longer which is good for baby seats but the problem does still come back occasionally.
On the positive side, I think it's fair to say that there have been no other mechanical problems and no electrical problems at all. The car is excellent to drive and not too expensive - I get about 23.5 mpg average and I'm not a slow driver!
The boot is cavernous - just under 500 litres to the parcel shelf and more if you take it out. The seats fold flat at the pull of a single lever in the boot to provide even more space. I transported a whole 6...

Mazda 6 2.0 TS 5dr Hatch
Advantages: Space, Equipment
Disadvantages: Performance, Gearbox
...I had a 2008 Mazda 6 2.0TS 6 Speed as a hire car while on business while in the UK. Firstly the cabin is well well put together and everything was within easy reach. The model I had was equipped with a few options dual climate, 4 x electric windows, cruise control, electric mirrors, steering mounted controls etc. I found the radio controls fine to use but the display in the center of the dash very difficult to use as it was only 1 line display. Plenty of space in the car and lots of cubby holes for phone etc. There is also a AUX socket in the center arm rest which is useful if you have an ipod. I dont know about navigation with the ipod connected if it is already difficult to scroll through radio stations.
The model I drove had a 6 speed box which wasnt the greatest. Gears were very close together and lacked feel. While driving...

Mazda 6 Hatchback 1.8s
Advantages: Style, practicality, economy.
Disadvantages: Blind spots, cabin finish.
...The Mazda 6 was something of a departure for me. Having been spoiled by the Audi A4 and more latterly the Mercedes C240 (both 2nd hand of course) the time had come for some affordable style, practicality and common sense(2nd hand of course). The '6' scores heavily in both departments. I bought mine at 6 months old on a '53 plate and with 8K on the clock. This followed a lot of research on the rivals, a tight budget and a very open mind.
Styling is sleek with a high bootline that bears a passing resemblance to the Lexus. This does hinder rear visibility particularly if fitted with a spoiler, so a reversing aid may cushion your wallet. The front slopes away and you need to watch the lower spoiler against kerbs. Crisp handling comes as standard and the car sits on the road with a re-assurance that well paid executives will be familiar...

Mazda 6 2.0 L TS2
Advantages: stylish, extras, economical
Disadvantages: wind noise
...We bought this car from new, one of the very first ones in 2002. I like the unusual look, very stylish. Vast improvement on the old model 626. Very impressed, many extras including climate control (much better than standard air conditioning), bose CD changer, cruise control, leather seats. There is plenty of leg room in the back. We tried nearly all makes with models of this size, but we found the Mazda to be thebest value for money.
We were looking for a good family car and this has proved to have been a good choice. Enough room in the boot for a pushchair and shopping. Space in the back for the baby's car seat and two passengers.
The stereo is brilliant, very good sound. We had the 6 cd multichanger, well worth it, plus it is fiited in the dash so no lost boot space!
Very comfortable ride, easily adjustable driver seat...

mazda 6 sport 2.3
Advantages: Very spacious; Looks and feels 'sporty'
Disadvantages: Not very economical on short journeys
...Please note, that the picture DOES NOT show this model of car.
I have had the mazda 6 sport for just over a year now. The main reason for purchasing it was to buy a larger car, as I had a peugeot 206 and my husband had a toyota celica.
We chose the 'sport' model, which on our car has the full body kit also, as my husband enjoys driving sportier cars. We did look at the TS and TS2 models, but they did not have as many godies on them and did not look and feel quite so sporty.
The space in this car is excellent and the boot space is ENORMOUS. It is a very comfy ride and handles well. The back seat seats 3 people fairly comfortably and the front and rear leg room is good.
The car has lots of 'goodies' such as cruise control, CD changer, air con, sunroof etc.
The car looks really nice, especially with the body kit, although not all...

Ten years with a Xedos 6 - not to be regretted
Advantages: Looks, build, performance, refinement, reliability, lovely small V6 engine, minor classic
Disadvantages: Saloon only available, repairs can be expensive, steering feel, limited space
...on the car now. Parts prices can add up, and running costs aren't helped by the fact that I have never been able to get a manual for the car. This fact is likely to speed the model's demise. A pity, because it's a minor classic.
In conclusion, the Xedos 6 will put leather seats under you, a nice six-cylinder engine in front of you and stylish bodywork around you for a reasonable price. It's reliable, quite nice to drive and fairly painless to own. The possible disadvantages concern space, versatility and running costs - it's not that it's outlandishly expensive to run, but when things do need replacing, the bills can mount up.
In Brief:
Mazda Xedos 6, 2.0 litre (6-cylinder), 144bhp/141bhp, 1.6 litre (4-cylinder),
113bhp/107bhp. Transmission: five-speed manual or four-speed auto. Performance (2.0 manual): 134mph, 29mpg overall. Insurance...

Mazda3 1.6 TS 4dr Activematic - (Auto)
Advantages: Power,Comfort,Sport
Disadvantages: I couldn't buy it with cruise control and parking sensor.( Depends from the country)
...I drive this car since 2005. I have the model Mazda3 1.6 TS 4dr Activematic - (Auto) with : climate control, 6-dish mp3 player. I love its shape which makes feel young and attract you easily if you are at the age until 30 years old. The driver position makes you feel luxury even if you drive a long distance. Every time you will take your place you will feel spontaneous. You can have a comfortable journey with 5 passenger, with the climate control to affect just a little the power of the car.
The Combined Fuel Consumption seems good as compare with the manual that other friends have and others cars of the same category. It depends and from the driver how gentle is with the petrol pedal. But if you drive until 130 km the consumption is good.
Disadvadage is that I couldn't buy it with cruise control and parking sensor.( Depends...

The best Mazda ever owned-Highly recommended
Advantages: Uber-reliability, still good-looking, cheap to buy, practicality
Disadvantages: Not many apart from low down to ground
...will result in furrows in the drive. Another slight drawback is the height at the back, which obscures reversing, however you get used to that after a while and it isn't a big deal when driving a car of this quality. The quality is also reflected in the build, and a model that is fifteen years old (or older) will look good and fresh if looked after and washed regularly. And don't forget the pop-up headlights, which are snazzy and always raise a smile!
****Parts****
The price of Japanese parts has traditionally been a sticking point with Jap cars, and the Mazda 323 has been no exception. However, truth be told you are buying a totally different proposition to a Ford Escort or Vauxhall. This car will last and will not need parts every month. After doing an average 20,000 miles a year, I spent a max...

Mazda's MX5: The worlds best selling sports car
Advantages: fun, stylish, easy to drive, convertible
Disadvantages: fuel consumption around town, road noise on the motorway
...This review will concentrate on the 1.6 litre cars available in the UK from 1989 to 1993
I Bought my MX5 in the winter of 2006. I picked up an early 1991 model with the 1.6 litre engine and 67,000 miles on the clock. The car was faultless without an ounce of rust on the body and had a full service history with Mazda and had been cared for by the Lotus garage that had taken the car in as a part exchange. The car did require the big service at 60,000 miles (includes the cam belt change) which was carried out by MKG3000 Mazda of Twickenham for the reasonable cost of £390.
Around town the car deals with bumps very well with only large pot holes sending a shimmy through the chassis. Road noise around town is also very acceptable and its light direct steering makes it easy to park. Around town you'll achieve around 24-26mpg...
