...I was a McDonald's kid. Well, not really, but I must state that a proportion of my teenager life and pocket money were spent in McDonald's. Here, I would like to give a description of some of the interesting features of McDonald's around the world. I always believe that a worldwide restaurant or fastfood chain should cater to the local tastebuds and in this area, McDonald's has gone a long way to doing that. I have visited Singapore several times now. It is a tiny Southeast Asian island country. Here, McDonald's face a tough local market where the variety, authenticity and scrumptious Southeast Asian cuisine beats McDonald's hands down. Advantages: Cheap food, tasty

...Introduction ~~ There everywhere, on high streets, retail parks – you name it its hard to go somewhere and not see the big yellow M and with it a greasy smell of burgers and chips. Yup I’m on about good old Maccy D’s. Not that you didn’t know that as it says quite clearly in blue writing. Well if your after cheap food when your out’n’about that isn’t from the greasy spoon that was almost shutdown or the filthy kebab van then McDonalds or Burger King are your safest bet. ...I’m writing this a week and a half after the latest May Day riots. One of the primary targets of the rioting is McDonalds, and it’s not hard to see why. McDonalds are accused of going into countries and providing an exact replica of their American stores and trampling over local culture. They are accused of replacing the nutritious, tasty food that was there before with their cheap junk food. They are accused of selling meat (by the vegetarian protesters. I don’t think they deny this one). They are accused of paying awful wages to staff who can’t even do the job. They are accused of global capitalism on a grand scale, using their vast resources to put national fast and slow food chains out of business. I, however, love McDonalds. ...Before you read this article and think that I'm some kind of off-the-wall eco-warrior with messy hair, unshaved armpits and a penchant for tofu - let me just assure you: I'm not. I am a completely normal young woman who eats meat, wears deodorant, has too many pairs of shoes and can't afford to pay her credit card bill. But McDonald's somehow brings out the kooky hippy in me. I have gone to McDonald's many, many times in my life and each time emerged feeling sick and guilty. Why sick? Because I recently found out that as well as having to worry about high cholesterol due to the meat being immersed in fat during cooking; the meat also contains traces of bone, spinal cord and faeces. ...I was walking through town today, and experienced utter shock when I walked past my local McDonalds! It had gone green!... Literally! The whole shop front had been renovated and repainted in a fowl dark green colour, while the infamous "M" remained bright yellow. It was utterly strange, people were looking at it with complete aura, in fact there were even groups of students stood outside discussing it! So whats it all in aid of? The change in colour from red to green is obviously to support and enhance McDonalds movement towards ethics. McDonalds wants to reposition itself as ethical; a purveyor of quality, healthy foods, an ethical employee etc. But is this change taking it a little too far? ...INTRODUCTION I am writing this review to tell you the benefits and disavantages of working at McDonalds. I am able to do this as I used to work at a McDonalds and used to work there for over 4 years. I started in June 2000 and left April 2005 although I did leave the job in between and I came back. AREAS OF WORK IN A TYPICAL MCDONALDS TILL When you work at McDonalds you will either be assigned to the front (Till/Drive thru) or the back (kitchen). When I first worked at McDonalds I was trainned to work in the front I first learned how to operate the tills on drive thru. But I will explain what is like to work inside the restaruant on the till. Basically a customer comes up to be served they tell you what you want and then you input it on the touch screen tills, once you have done that you can either get the order or take payment... ...In the Judean Hills, just outside of Jerusalem there is a small shopping mall that houses the world's first Kosher McDonald's. (Update: There's now another Kosher McDonald's in the new Ben Gurion Airport - see below - as well as one somewhere in Argentina.) But its not only just a Kosher McDonald's - its probably the McDonald's with the world's best view as well! As the sun sets at the end of the day, one can sit at huge picture windows that face Jerusalem and watch the city begin to twinkle as the lights flick on. In the daytime, these same hills, with their scattered patches of forest mingled with the homes that nestle amongst them are no less a delight to behold. One would think that this amazing view would be better reserved for a more posh, up-market restaurant - but no, the down-to-earth McDonald's shares this beautiful... Read review

...McDonalds is the best fast food restaurant in the UK. It beats competitors such as Burger King and KFC every year in quality of the food, although some "dishes" are/were pretty horrible. (see below) McDonalds started its chain in the 1950's in America and has spread worldwide since. There is a variety of fast food available in McDonalds. The Chicken Sandwich, Filet-O-Fish and Chicken Nugget meals are quite popular. They also have specials every now and then, such as the Barbecue ribs, the Mexican food, and the Indian food. Now the ribs (about 2 years ago) were very nice, and the Mexican burgers were OK too, but the Indian food was terrible! They started it last year and recently brought it back because of popularity! Most of the food was chewey and that's why Indian restaurants didn't care that McDonalds were selling their food... Read review

...McDonalds gets alot of slack. Let's face it, the food isn't exactly perfection is it? But the popular food chain does hold a special place in my heart, and of course, in my gut. I've havent really listened to the ins and outs of the war against McDonalds, so I'm not too sure what the problem is. In my experience the food is always average, but I still love to eat it. It has a charm, a quality if you will. Must be what they put in those burgers. OK. The service is rubbish. In my life I have been to McDonalds many times. Too many infact (I can feel my stomach imploding into a big fatty waste as we speak). They always seen to mess up my order. No matter how simple it is, they mess it up. Why! How hard can it be?
