McVities Milk chocolate digestive biscuits
Advantages: A superb chocolate biscuit
Disadvantages: too many arent good for the figure!
...This week Sainsbury`s have McVities chocolate digestives on offer, a whacking 50% reduction. The biscuits have a good sell by date on them so I stocked up and bought four packets.
If they had been on the shelf at full price I would have more than likely considered buying their own brand or even buying the Sainsburys Basic range chocolate digestive.
Admittedly the own brand and basic range don`t have the refined almost `syrupy` taste of McVities but when the chips are downits beetr to keep a tight rein on the weekly shopping budget.
McVities is a brand owned by United biscuits, McVitie and Price were originally Scottish biscuit makers and started baking their delicious biscuits in the early 1800`s in the city of Edinburgh.
The first big selling biscuit ever made by McVities was the digestive. Then in 1947 the company were asked to...

McVities Yog Fruit Digestives - YUM
Advantages: Great mix of fruit and yogurt, addictive taste
Disadvantages: A lot of calories
...I'm a big McVitie's fan to start with, chocolcate digestives are one of my favourite biscuits so when I saw an advertisement for these new Yog Fruit digestives I definitely had to give them a try. It took me a few weeks to find them in the shops, I guess because they are so new but last week I bought a packet of the Forest Fruits flavour and also a packet of the strawberry flavour. They cost £1.17 each for the 250g pack in Sanisburys which I didn't think was too bad as it's the same price as the chocolate variety. They don't come in a multipack yet but I'm sure that will follow if they become popular.
These really are just as delicious as the chocolate variety. They are basically a digestive biscuit with forest fruit or strawberry puree pieces and yogurt flavoured topping. They have quite a sweet taste, due to the fruit pieces but they...

McVities Digestives Biscuits
Advantages: it fills a gap
Disadvantages: a bit plain
...So here I was last night and finally got a message from Ciao which let me get back into my account and by the time I had found the email and the new password, I only managed to rate one days works.
So here I am this morning rating now from the 16th February and stacked up with coffee on tap, I thought I wonder if I have any nibbles and in the back of the cupboard there was a packet of McVities Digestive Biscuits. I have not had these for ages and thought these will do whilst I plod along.
Now I am not a biscuity sort of person but today is going to be a long day, so hey ho and here we go.
I bought these on special offer at Spar the other day and you paid 99p for a 250g Milk Chocolate Digestive and also got a 250g Original Digestive Biscuit with it as well, so I thought well that is not bad for them, so off it jumped into my...

Mcvities Milk Chocolate Digestives: You'll Always Want More!
Advantages: tastes nice, dunk in tea, crunchiness and sweetness, chocolate heaven!
Disadvantages: High in sugar, fat and calories
...= Introduction =
Mcvities Digestives biscuits were first introuduced in 1925, it has been around for nearly 85 years could you believe it. As Mcvities said " We are passionate about baking. It is no wonder generations have loved the great taste of Mcvities chocolate digestives" that has been proven to be true as over 71 millions packets are eaten in the uk each year!
= The packaging =
The packaging is very distintive, the famous logo of mcvities is written in a banner type way. The words Digestives and milk chocolate written in a bold white font across a brown background which is suggesting a chocolaty taste. A little picture of the chocolate broken in bits is shown to resemble the image of what it looks like.
= What's good about Mcvities =
* They are very tasty
* 45% Wheat & wholemeal goodness
* No...

Nicely Digestible
Advantages: The Best Digestives around
Disadvantages: May be too boring for the young
...When I was a young lad, the idea of chilling out with a cup of herbal tea and a digestive completely appalled me. Drinking was all about various types of pop whilst if a biscuit wasn't covered in either icing or chocolate then what, to be frank, was the point!? My tastes have now however changed somewhat and, much to the potential embarassment of my inner child I'm sure, digestives have become my favourite biscuits and, of these, I like no brand better than McVities. Why? Read on..
History
-------
Unless you live on another planet (in which case - Hello!!) then you will know that McVities produce just about the most famous digestives around but did you know that they actually invented them? Well, a young employee of theirs called Alexander Grant came up with the recipe and they were named Digestives in honour of their high baking...

Reader's Digestive
Advantages: Great, smashing, super
Disadvantages: Sugar and fat
...I like the odd McVitie's Chocolate Digestive, as long as it's not too odd, that is. They're probably one of the best-known biccies in the UK, which is not surprising really, as they've been around quite a while, since 1925 in fact, and according to their website, a staggering 71 million packets of these fellas are chomped every year in the UK. That's a mind-blowing 52 bics a sec!
I often find that after a particularly satisfying blow-job, nothing beats a cuppa and a biccy, and what better biscuit to ensure my tea's not too wet, than a McVitie's Chocolate Digestive (hereafter referred to as MCD)...or three. That's the downside, one's never enough.
So, without further ado, let's pop the plastic lid off this 250g cardboard tube (which costs around 70-odd pence, depending where you buy it).
Just in case you've never ever seen an MCD...

Some digestives with your tea, Madam?
Advantages: Tasty.
Disadvantages: Crumbles.
...Have you ever gone through a phase where you find yourself munching biscuits everyday? Or maybe you find you cannot go through a day without that pack of crisps? I am going through that phase right now. Not with crisps, mind you, but my weakness is for that pack of McVities digestives.
"Why, of all failures, does it have to be those biscuits? They look so plain and wholesome?" You ask?
"Well," I replied, "I just love them." The packaging, I admit, is not your fancy all colourful and all dancing shining wrapper that cries out to you while you walk past it in the shopping aisle. Bright, yes, in reddish orange with the words "McV" for McVities, The Original Digestive in large bold words.
While unwrapping them, a couple will fall out, in their eager to leave their neighbours in the tightly rolled packed of biscuits. They do not look...

Yog fruit digestives
Advantages: YUMMY,Something different
Disadvantages: expensive,
...This biscuits are a real change from your everyday digestives, as they have yoghert on top !!
Yog fruit digestives are digestive biscuits with fruit puree peices and a yoghurt flavoured topping, they are made by mcvities and they taste delicious, i have also seen this in strawbery flavour too.
they are packaged in a blue and purple packet with a picture of a yog fruit digestive half eaten and a couple of scatered blackberrys and raspberys on it, and straight away you can see how easy it would catch your eye with its colourful packaging.
The yog fruit digestive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The actual digestive is the same shape and size as an average digestive only it smells slightly fruity / sweet and you can plainly see it has a yoghert topping.
It tastes as good as it looks and would be very appealing to someone with a sweet tooth...
Out of date digestives??
Advantages: Mcvities Quality
Disadvantages: Don't taste too good
...I am a great fan of the original Mcvitie's digestives - they are so simple yet so tasty. They taste great with a drink of tea also. The first time you open the pack they are really golden, crunchy and crispy. After they have been opened - the rest of the digestives in there don't taste as good as the first few fresh biscuits from the top.
We have a biscuit tin at home and I asked for a biscuit. I grabbed a digestive from it and started munching on it. It tasted slightly off....the flavours of the other biscuits had mingled in to it and madeit taste somewhat.... fusty? So I thought...
I was later told by my brother that our mum had purchased some 'New' Mcvitie's digestives. Apparently called Lemon and Ginger.
So that is why they tasted different! Was my judgement on the biscuits biased due to thinking that they had been mixed...
Even more nicely digestible!
Advantages: Best Digestives around
Disadvantages: Expensive
...Following on from my recent rediscovery of McVities Digestives (for those of you who haven't read that opinion, it was entitled nicely digestible and this is the follow up) I decided that I would try the Milk Chocolate covered version in order to see if one of the best biscuits on the market could be improved.
So, money in hand, I marched along to my local supermarket and found several alternatives. One of my few criticisms of the uncoated digestives was that once you tore the strip to open the packet, the first 3 biscuits became exposed and then either had to be stored in an air tight container or eaten straight away (thats my excuse anyway!!) otherwise they quickly go stale. With this in mind I opted to purchase the milk chocolate variety which come in a tube as, in design at least, you can pop the lid back on and keep the biscuits...
