...Stand By Me ----------------------- I remember watching this film a few years ago; when I was around the age of the boys in the film and thought it was great. I managed to win the DVD as a freebee recently and watched it again last night. Despite not feeling the same as I did all of those years ago, I still thought it was a tremendous film with 4 actors who were just amazing. Made by Me - a gorgeous how to book on sewing & knitting

Advantages: Clear photographs, easy to follow instructions, simple projects
Disadvantages: Not all little girls will want to learn how to knit or sew, clearly only aimed at girls

...Our niece is almost 9 and loves doing anything arty, when I spotted the Made by Me book had been left with the book club in the canteen at work. I knew before I even turned a page she would love it. I ordered it and when it had been delivered I knew that I had made the right choice. The book is "A Stitch-by-Stitch Guide to Knitting, Sewing and Embroidery", the front cover in lovely pastel shades is very appealing and what first caught my attention. The book is split into four chapters: Workboxes Embroidery Sewing and Knitting. The Workboxes chapter is the shortest at just pages, here the reader is shown how to make and decorate their own workboxes for keeping things like wool or ribbon in using things you would find around the house such as a jam jar or an egg box. Advantages: An amazing film that should be owned by everyone

...Stand by me is one of my all time favourite films. The film was released in 1986, and was released on DVD in 2000. ~The Story~ The story is narrated by Richard Dreyfuss, who appears at the end of the film. He is writing a book about a particular time in his childhood, sharing memories of his friends and the experiences they had growing up. The story is set in a small Oregon town in the year 1959, where we follow the story of Gordie (Wil Wheaton), a sensitive 12 year old boy, who feels invisible after the death of his older brother. Wait For Me please

Advantages: Loads of excellent tracks, very peaceful and some relaxing ones as well
Disadvantages: Some monotone tracks as well as a lack of vocals.

.... I was pleasantly suprised by the lyrics in terms of the war theme. This is certainly a slightly patriotic track in terms of lyrics and the slow and consistent mellow tempo really make this one of the albums greatest. 9/10 5,,,, Walk with me: This track is keyboard driven and vocally beautiful introduction to this music. The consistency of the music is nigh on excellent. The lyrics were great "Walk with me, take me hand off all along". The symphony combined with the vocals that accompanies this, sounds beautiful and tranquil. 7/10 6,,,, Stock Radio: This track is simply a radio type sound that is included to perhaps annoy though the frequency type sound this track brings my ears and senses is done to highlight the artists excellent range of sounds. I found that this track was certainly an album filler and does not deserve much...

Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella

Advantages: Excellent book, great story and main character
Disadvantages: None

...can sense her confusion and frustration as she doesn't know who to believe and who is telling her the truth about the three years she can't remember as some people would obviously prefer it if they can re-write what has happened. I really recommend this book as a must read for chick lit fans. It was easy to read and get into, and at times was so funny I laughed out loud, which doesn't happen often with books for me. It is a light-hearted story which is perfect for reading anytime and I didn't want to put it down. Published by Black Swan. Paperback 444 pages....
