Quite literally 'Meat free'

Advantages: Substantial, healthy, low fat and calorie meal
Disadvantages: Slightly sickly; quite sloppy; bland veg;

...Let me first clarify that I am by no standards a vegetarian; I love white meat such as chicken and Turkey, and the occassional sausage and bacon. I like spaghetti bolegnaise or shepherds pie ready meals but I actually can't stand minced meat; it's grisly and chewy - even the extra lean stuff. I find this a shame becasue I love to make homemade dinners. I was browsing the rice aisle during our shop at Asda when I spotted 'Asda Meat free savoury mince' in a packet. However, you should be careful when you buy it, for it remains in the refrigerator for no more than a week, depending on how fresh it is when you buy it, or you should make sure you have enough space in the freezer if you want to freeze it for a month at most. The pizza comes not only in a plastic cover you see in the picture, but also in a brown recyclable cardboard box, as you can see in the picture. The Very Best of Meat Loaf

Advantages: 2 discs with all your favourites
Disadvantages: One of many 'greatest hits' albums by Meat Loaf

...I absolutely love this album. When I was younger my older cousin played Meat Loaf all the time and I loved listening to it. When I was older I heard Bat out of Hell on the radio and was reminded of its brilliance. As soon as I heard it, I went on the hunt for a Meat Loaf greatest hits album in the hope that after hearing it I would still enjoy it the way I did when I was younger. I came across the Very Best of Meat Loaf and bought it as it seemed to be of good value for money with having 2 discs and more of the classic Meat Loaf songs than any other Meat Loaf album, songs including Bat out of Hell, Paradise by the Dashboard Light, Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through, Modern Girl, Objects in the Rear View Mirror, I'd Do Anything for Love. I would recommend this album for any Meat Loaf fan but if you only intend buying one Meat...

Heinz Meat Free Ravioli - Bring back the meat!!

Advantages: cheap, quick to make
Disadvantages: Bland taste, not very nice

...I'm a big fan of Heinz products in general because I feel they produce high, good quality products and am a fan of the meat ravioli for a quick snack or light dinner so when I saw the meat free variety or cheese and tomato flavour I decided to give them a try. Heinz was founded in 1869 my a German man by the name of Henry John Heinz in Pennyslvania, USA. Their 57 varities is kind of their trade mark and actually came from the fact that the numbers 5 and 7 held special meaning for him and his wife, not the amount of products they produced because at that time already they were producing over 60 different products. The Heinz cheese and tomato ravioli cost me £0.80 for one tin so the same price as the meat variety but a little bit more expensive than say just the spaghetti. Meat Loaf - Dead Ringer

Advantages: Each song is a great one.
Disadvantages: Not enough tracks?

...My first review for over a month comes in the form of a fat guy, singing like a man gone wild, on a mean bike. Oh, did I mention he's also quite the comedian. Meat Loaf (aka Michael Lee Aday) is one of those familiar names that almost everybody recognises, even if they don't know why. The guy has done several thousand films (well, alright, about 43 (in 18 of them, he played himself)), several million famous songs (again, I'm lying, although this figure can't be far off! ;-D) and a load of great albums (wow, I finally told the truth!). This album is almost as definitive as the Bat Out of Hell album, as far as Meat Loaf albums are concerned. Meat Loaf's Greatest Hits

Advantages: Classic, Timeless Ballads that eveyone will enjoy
Disadvantages: no- it seems this one is flawless!

...Before I bought this double album, Meat Loaf was, to me, I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) and Bat Out Of Hell. I didn't go looking for this album, but it was on the strength of these songs that I chose it as the final selection in a 3 for £30-type deal, and I have to say I am very glad I did. The two songs I mentioned are of course in this complilation, as the opening and closing tracks on disc 2 respectively; I'd do Anything For Love is an epic 12 minute album version, as opposed to the single released in the early 90s. But wait - there's more! I was quite surprised as the opening track on Disc One, Home By Now, phased into No Matter What, more commonly known as a hit for Boyzone. Nay to meat. It isn't natural for human beings!

Advantages: Natural, healthier, less heart disease and risk of cancer
Disadvantages: Some people don't get enough vitamins or iron due to a poor vegetarian diet

...I've been vegetarian since 1992. Over the years, I have found many meat eaters have made it their purpose to question my choice, and interrogate me about how I get my iron and protein etc. in an attempt to prove to me that I need to eat meat. "Oh, but we're carnivores" they'll insist on telling me. This is completly incorrect. We're not carnivores. If we were, then we'd hunt and kill our meat and eat it raw. Our incisor teeth would be capable of ripping and tearing an animal's tough skin in order to reach the flesh underneath. Instead, we have to tenderise, cook, add herbs and spices and gravy to our plate of meat, so that it is palatable, socially acceptable, tasty and digestable. Advantages: This book is the closest thing I have to a food bible.
Disadvantages: Not a quick reference cook book - but nor was it intended to be.

...For any meat eater this is largely a bible when it comes to cooking meat. As the title may suggest, the book focuses purely on meat (of all kinds). What the book is really about is really about is where meat comes from, how it is raised, slaughtered and butchered. If that sounds a bit extreme then this really is the book for you. What people see in the supermarket is the end result. This book focuses on the fact that that piece of meat was once an animal. As such we should ensure that the meat we eat has been raised well, slaughtered humanely and is of the best possible quality. The stance this book takes has won the support of many vegetarians, not turning them to meat eaters but promoting everything that vegetarians stand for. Yes, this is a book full of meat recopies, but really it's much more than that. One word of advice...
