Medion PC's
Review of Lifetec LT 1998sl by
NJFortune
Advantages: Very Quiet, Easy to use, USB Ports on Front of box
Disadvantages: sometimes too hard to hear if the machine is actually on its so quiet! ;-)
.../ Compact Flash reader (this is for reading Digital Camera Cards) aswell as a serial port, the microphone port, 3 USB Ports and a video output port aswell.
The machine was pre-loaded with Windows XP and I it has 100GB of Hard Drive space, the Space is split into 3 drives allowing you to use one of the drives as the Windows backup drive as you are not given a Windows XP disk for reinstallation. The machine also has 512mb ram in it also, although the only problem is if the machine has trouble you have to send it back to Medion rather than Aldi should you require technical support.
All in all I am very happy with the system and with the amount of money I saved on the box I splashed out on a 17" flat screen monitor aswell which still works out cheaper than buying some near top of the range computers.
For anybody else who is looking around for PCs...

Medion 96100 series. It's a German thing!
Review of Medion Design Multimedia Notebook MD96151 by
Theavens2005
Advantages: Super screen, good performance, nice looks.
Disadvantages: Awful speakers, good do with more RAM.
...Premium.
1GB is great for normal and everyday use. However, you'll want to upgrade to 1.5 or even 2.0 (max supported) if you don't want to be kept waiting for graphics intensive applications. The shared ATI graphics are great for Windows Vista but receive a palty '2.0' on the Vista ratings experience. AMD seem to be getting better too; 1.8Ghz sounds slow but it provided the juice! Finally, with so much space I haven't yet filled it up with my music library or family photos...as yet!
Now, we're in the New Age running the very capable Windows Vista. It has received such a lot of bad press lately but if the operating system is run on hardware which can suport it you'll be swimming in digital bliss.
As I mentioned earlier, the laptop came with quite a few accessories, a few words on them; the mouse is awfully plasticy. Often the Medion...

MEDION digital camera MD 41084
Review of Digital Communications by
latitia
Advantages: Clear photographs
Disadvantages: lack of instructions
...busy that I cannot gain access, so what I decided to do next was to try another route so I used the "ASK" search engine to find another link to the ULEAD and MEDION websites neither of which were much help.
The Medion website sad that I sould contact the ULEAD site which I did and after sending my query to them I recieved an e mail 4 days later to tell me that as I bought my computer second hand and it did not come with the disk for Windows ME (although installed fully on my computer) I was told I would have to purchase a brand new Windows ME package in order for my camera to work (wasn't sure the camera was such a bargain after that).
Although I can use the digital camera to take pictures in the room where my computer is situated any photographs or short films that I take of my family cannot be transferred onto my computer as it does...

Do you know where you're going to? I do now!
Review of Medion GoPal PNA210-S by
Nolly
Advantages: A handy machine at a very good price
Disadvantages: Make sure you use your eyes and ears as well
...what kind of prices I could find.
I got as far as the PC World website and found that they had a Sat-Nav for £79.99! This was the Medion Go-Pal PNA 210. This was a wonderful price, I thought, and so I shuffled to my local store to see about buying one.
When I got there I found the item was marked as £99! I enquired to a youth who was apparently a salesman and he checked the website to see if what I had seen was a 'web exclusive' price. It transpired that it was not, and so he said i could have it for £79.99.
Handy hint #1 - Do your research!
I got the gizmo home and took it out of the box...
What you get
The system comes with a set of 4 AA batteriesas back-up, an adaptor to plug into your cigar lighter socket in the car, a cradle on a sucker thingy to attach it to the windscreen (this includes a stylus), a mini-USB lead...

Excellent AKAI product - long awaited in the UK!
Review of Akai ADR-5800DI by
thomasperkins321
Advantages: Easy to use, Records & Plays Both DVD+&-, much more
Disadvantages: None
...years old on eBay. In the end I kept my VCR and bought a cheap Daewoo one from Comet as well with a digital tuner (still no where near as good as my AKAI one though).
I also decided to replace my LG DVD player which has given excellent service to me but being one of the first ones it struggled to play most recorded DVD's.
I ended up buying a new DVD Recorder on eBay for just £39.99. It was only a cheap one - Tevion (Medion) that was sold in Aldi. Medion are usually an excellent brand but after buying this one I looked at some reviews on the net for it and discovered that it is riddled with faults! And then, 2 weeks after buying it, mine died completely. I have returned it to the seller for a refund.
Anyway, I started looking again and came across, believe it or not, an AKAI DVD recorder on eBay brand new! I didn't care how much it cost, I...

A leap forward for Medion
Review of Medion GoPal PNA350-S by
Nick_Endeavour
Advantages: Simple to use, OK price, Large map selection
Disadvantages: No home charger, Poor Battery life, long repair times, No 3D maps
...The PNA350 is one of the latest products launched by the up and coming German company Medion.
Unlike the previous dedicated navigators from Medion which were Windows Mobile Machine based (even though severely cut down) and the PDA with GPS products the range seems to be better products. The GPS signal receiver is great improvement over the past products especially over the 150/170 range which had horrendous mapping and gave dreadful instructions, especially the all hated Navigator 3.1D by Dutch company TeleAtlas.
The maps are quite neat in this version even though bit and pieces are still missing, especially farms and isolated areas but considering the past products is a dramatic improvement.
The new PNA gets rid of the silly idea of having a stylus pen to tap on a car navigator and the software is more intuitive with bigger buttons...

What a bargan
Review of Medion MD 20099 by
alison5409
Advantages: fantastic picture and sound quality
Disadvantages: On off switch not easily accesable and big feet.
...The Medion 20099 television caught my eye first of all because of the price. Most High Definition televisions are very expensive twice the price of this television.
I then checked out the speciforcations. I was supprised as this has everything needed and more.
This television has a 180 degree angle screen which means you can watch it anywhere in the room (watch out as some more expensive televisions do not have this). The sound quality is excellent and it also has a 2 tuner PIP (which means picture in picture).
It also has a hdmi socket. The pixels on this television give a very clear picture. It can also be wall mounted or left free standing. The feet make it difficult as it is hard to find a stand big enougth.
But when combined with a dvd player with hdmi lead the quality is outstanding. I look forward to more High Defininition...

What a bargain
Review of Kodak EasyShare C613 by
grafter123
Advantages: Great price, compact, good brand, decent sized screen, multi function
Disadvantages: Probably not up to the minute
...A good five or six years ago I purchased my first digital camera. It was a Medion, which is a cheap brand, and was about forty something pound, which was quite cheap back then. It was a small camera and has really been great. I have taken all sorts of photographs with it and been pleased with results. However earlier in the year the flap which opens to access the batteries and memory card became a little broken. The camera was fine but looked a little unappealing, with an elastoplast stuck over one end, on holiday this year. Eventually at a family do this Autumn it gave up the ghost and so a new camera was added to my Christmas List. I was not sure what I wanted. as I am not very technical.. but I knew that I wanted a camera which was compact, took great snaps and was not so expensive as I would not dare to take it on holiday with me...
