A leap forward for Medion

Advantages: Simple to use, OK price, Large map selection
Disadvantages: No home charger, Poor Battery life, long repair times, No 3D maps

...The PNA350 is one of the latest products launched by the up and coming German company Medion. Unlike the previous dedicated navigators from Medion which were Windows Mobile Machine based (even though severely cut down) and the PDA with GPS products the range seems to be better products. The GPS signal receiver is great improvement over the past products especially over the 150/170 range which had horrendous mapping and gave dreadful instructions, especially the all hated Navigator 3.1D by Dutch company TeleAtlas. The maps are quite neat in this version even though bit and pieces are still missing, especially farms and isolated areas but considering the past products is a dramatic improvement. Medion MD 96480

Advantages: Looks stylish
Disadvantages: looks can be deceptive, not designed for sitting on ha ha

...My medion lasted the 1 year warranty period. I may or may have not got ripped off with the price,. I bought it from woolworths for £349, in the sales last year. It comes with a 15.4 inch lcd screen which is a good size for watching dvds, it also comes with a dvd re-writer, though I think most laptops do nowadays. Its ram is around 892 mb, which is not quite 1gb as the company would have you belive. In the year I have had it, there have been some niggling issues, such as when the battery meter says theres 60 minutes left, it will then say low battery after ten minuites. I found it easier to use as a staionery computer so that it can have a regular power source. I have also found that the usb cables don't stay in very well, any slight movement and they fall out.
